Our first visit to Gundry's and was with UKCS Southern meet so was on the rally field. Easy to find and access, beautiful rural location. Speed humps on access road which are angled across the road, very vicious, approach VERY gently. Proprietor had very kindly posted direction notices for UKCS so no probs going direct to rally field. Very spacious, flat well kept field. The only facilities available to ralliers are fresh water and the Elsan tip. I was a little surprised to be told to tip grey waste into the ditch that borders one side of the field. The lack of services are reflected in the price of £8 per unit or £10 with leccie, great value as we use on board facilities anyway. Saw the main campsite from a distance, seems to be beautifully maintained and spacious. No shop on site, short drive to village of Westmoors where everything is to be found. All in all a very pleasant couple of nights spent there and wouldn't hesitate to return. Although on the Dorset side of the county boundary, very handy for New Forest and all the attractions plus not too far from the Jurassic coast in the other direction, so an ideal location for the best of the south coast

Visited gundrys farm for the first time this year, stayed there several times last year. The owners have been really busy over the winter, brand new beautiful toilet block, you feel as though you are staying in a 5 star hotel! Every pitch has the option for a electric hookup, the showers have been renovated and a lot of trees have been planted.
The pitches are all round the edge of two fields which means that you have oodles of space, the kids can play and you can watch them easily.
When you walk round the site, it is very well maintained and tidy, at the moment there are lovely daffodils and primroses everywhere.
One new idea which we really liked, is a herb garden for the campers to help themselves, want a bit of parsley for your fish, just help yourself. Gundrys are good at recycling, bottles, plastics, cans, really good sign in these times.
Prices have stayed the same as last year another good sign.
We walked to Moors Valley Country Park several times during our stay, lakes and nature walks, ideal for the kids as it doesn't cost you anything.
One more gem, the garden centre 5 mins walk from the site has a new bakery which makes olive bread, sour dough and the most wonderful flapjacks.
The Three Cross Pub about 10 mins walk for the site serves pretty good food, but best value with kids is the Tap and Railway in West Moors about 2 miles away.
We loved our stay and we will be back many times this year.

Had a two night stay over a what turned out to be a very wet and muddy weekend!
The site is flat, tidy and has the appearance of a very charming campsite. There are a couple of small, clean toilet blocks. There is a unisex shower block, which a little annoyingly doesn't have a toilet cubicle within it. The toilets were kept very clean and had nice little extras like mats to help keep the floor clean and soap on the basins.
Like other reviewers say, there were a lot of reminders about the rules posted up which was a bit unnecessary. The surrounding area isn't particularly good and the walks directly from the site didn't inspire. The nearby pub doesn't allow dogs in.
I can't really put my finger on it, but I didn't take to the site, it was very clean and tidy, but something wasn't right for me. A site I won't return to.

We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 5 and 10, we have stayed here before and will do so again - it really is a lovely site. This time we camped for a week across the august bank holiday which for any campsite is a testing time as they are normally full to capacity.
It would be a shame if the previous poor review put people off coming here because it really is a gem of a site. Yes it is true there is an army fuel base next door but this did not give us any problems and we did not hear any noise from it during our stay or previous stays (and we camped backing onto it in a tent) I have to agree it was a tad annoying that the website boasts the middle of the field is kept clear for children to play and people were camping there but there was still plenty of room for the children to play.
The area is lovely and a pleasant walk to the moors park with loads to do for the children there and Poole and Bournemouth also great areas to explore. There are only 4 showers at present and yes three of them have a pretty poor flow (on the left as you go in) but the other is quite decent and I never had to queue for them and water was always consistently hot. Lorraine did mention they were planning on extending the shower facilities next year???
The owners Baz are lovely and were obviously busy but still managed to make time to let our children feed the sheep and even gave my son a ride in the buggy they use to collect litter etc. 2 minor niggles we had were that there was some confusion over where the pitch started and ended and we had an issue with the campers next to us who insisted we parked on their pitch despite us pitching our tent and parking car where we were told by the owners. Also the minimum noise after 10. 30 rule is not enforced as the very same neighbours were watching fawlty towers episode after episode well after the minimum noise rule of 10. 30pm at a volume. I not only worked out what they were watching but which episode as I could hear every word till about 11. 30pm. If I had shouted at them to turn it down they would not have heard and I did not want to go out in my pj's- luckily they left the next day!
Despite these 2 minor niggles we will definitely be back next year and would recommend to any of our friends!

We just love Gundrys, have stayed there four times already this year. The campsite is level, loads of space, big pitches, its quiet, its calm and we just love it.
The owners are friendly and work hard - they never seem to stop, campsite is so clean, toilets and showers are ideal- in fact toilets some of the best we have seen.
Even when the site is busy, you feel as though you are away from it all. 10 minute walk to the Three Legged Cross Pub, 15 minutes walk to Moors Valley Country park - simply amazing place.
The campsite has its own flock of sheep which the children can help feed.
We shall definitely be back, in fact we may even take a seasonal pitch as its very reasonable and the campsite is so well organised.

Sadly disappointed by our visit to Gundry's Farm.
We have been camping for over 15 years and this is the first site where we have been made to feel unwelcome.
As adults in our late 30's we fully understand the need for rules and as the site is next to the Army Base and Petrol Storage (not mentioned on website), BBQ's are only permitted if raised off the ground. Our bucket BBQ however appeared to cause concern (we tend to use a log rather than charcoal which has not been a problem at other sites) as 5 minutes after being lit we were told to extinguish it, which we immediately did, apologising profusely. However, the way that we were asked to extinguish it was rather upsetting as we were made to feel that we had purposely flouted the rules which is certainly not the case. To us, it was a BBQ, raised off the ground. From then on it appeared clear that we were in the 'naughty corner' & when the nightly rounds were done and the people on either side of you were spoken to, but you were missed out, it does tend to leave you feeling quite upset.
In peak season tents are permitted to pitch in the middle of the field which is advertised as being free for the children to play on.
Facilities are extremely spaced out. Only 2 wash ups for 60+ pitches. Showers are dark and the shower head is so close to the wall that it is extremely difficult to get a good rinse.
The chemical disposal point is in field 1. A fair walk carrying your waste from field 2 and a little embarrassing in full view of the other campers. Fresh water is at the corner of the field. Again, a fair walk if you are right at the other end. Waste water disposal is difficult to locate. We had to ask a couple of fellow campers.
Positives - peaceful location. Lovely walk via bridleway to Moors Valley. Easy to get to numerous points of interest. Spar shop a couple of minutes down the road and a great garden centre 2 minutes away. Good initial contact when booking.
Such a shame as we thought we had found a real gem!

I've been camping and caravanning in the UK my whole life, and my partner has travelled all across the continent back packing and camping and this is the first site that either of us has been made to feel unwelcome, I can completely sympathise with the experience of fellow reviewers.
On arrival my partner was given a list of instructions the likes I have never seen before. He was told that the gates where locked at 10. 30pm and unfortunately was not told that they did not open until 7am the following morning, this information was on the (open) gate that you drove through on arrival before you got to the security gate that could only ben opened with the relevant key code.
As we missed the opening time of the gate (this information was not on the list on instructions either) we got up assuming that we could leave at 6. 45am (the hot water was on from 6. 30, the owners are farmers, we assumed the gates would be open) we found the gates to be locked and the owners extremely unimpressed at being requested to open the gates (by the time we got to the house) 10 minutes early, even though we apologised profusely for not realising the gates did not open. The owners where rude towards us and unfriendly for the rest of our stay (which was August bank holiday weekend!)
Please be aware you can not leave with a car during 10. 30pm and 7am. You have to leave your car in an unsecured location away from the camp site if you wish to be mobile within that time.
The showers, although warm and clean, where not great, and my partner who is 6'4' had difficulty standing up straight in them, the toilet block was clean, although there was not nearly enough of either at peak time.
Very disappointing stay in what should have been a lovely camp site - great location - nice flat fields. Although nowhere for the many many kids to play as the advertised play areas where filled with tents.

We arrived on Friday 1st June 2012 and we were staying for 9 nights in total. We have a medium sized tent with Electric Hook Up. We went to reception and was greeted by the owners and warden who were very helpful, they showed us were everything was and left us to it.
The pitches are very flat which is great for tents. There is 2 toilet blocks one is very old and the other looks like it has just been built. Both blocks were extremely clean and were always being cleaned. There were 2 sinks for washing up which in busy times didn't seem enough as this was the only thing you had to queue for. There are four showers which are always clean and just like the toilet blocks they are always being cleaned. Showers are open 6.30am til 10.30pm which is great.
There is no farm shop on site but if you turn left or right out of School lane there is a late night shop in both directions.
On Saturdays a chip shop van comes round at 5. 30pm and Ice cream vans on regular occasions.
BBQ's are allowed as long as they are raised and they do supply bricks on each pitch which is very useful.
There is a chemical toilet disposal point and entry into the camping is by a secure barrier which they give you the code to for entry.
Only problem the main gate gets closed at 10. 30pm so don't get back from a day out late!.
The nearest pub within walking distance is the Three Legged Coss which is very pricey. Drinks are not cheap and the food is even worse. They are doing a deal from Monday-Saturday until 5pm main course £6, 2 courses £8 or 3 courses £10, which we did do twice.
Dominos pizza in Verwood do delivery to Gundrys Farm which we did on our first night.
The campsite itself is very friendly and family friendly. But the main thing is the loo's are clean.
We did find the location of the farm a bit too far away from everything and did do a lot of driving during out 9 nights stay. If we returned it would be for a shorter time as you do run out of things to do and we found ourselves driving to Swanage most days.
Highly recommend this camp-site for up to 4-5 nights.

Our 1st trip to Gungrys we stayed 3nts 1-4 June. We were in the 1st field which was clean flat and each pitch was spacious, with EHU.
On arrival we were meet by Lorraine & Baz and another lady (whos name ?) whom showed us around & to our pitch and whom were all very pleasent and friendly throughout our stay.
There are 2 toilet blocks 1 new one (which we used) & an old porta cabin both always very clean (and the site was full). The showers area dated but always clean and hot water. We did not queue. The washing up facilities there are only 2! but always clean and hot water.
On sat 5. 30-6. 30 Fish & Chip van arrives which was great as we had a bbq and the chips went well with. Then after tea the ice cream van comes on to site lovely end to our eve (pudding to)
We had two walks to Moors Valley Country Park 1st the long way (40mins) along the main rd pass The Three Legged Cross pub which is nice (only had a drink) menu looked good may be a bit pricey but also saw deals on a board. The 2nd route which I asked the owners of the campsite about was safer with children (20mins) took you across pass fields horses and into the back end of the park near the lake. (better).
We had Dominos Pizza delivered to site one evening which came from the Verwood area.
When packing up you did`nt need to be off your pitch till 11. 30am which was great as you did`nt need to rush and the tent had a little time to dry off.
Had a lovely time good value and would return.

We stayed for four nights 31/8 to 4/9 in a touring caravan. Also a second pitch alongside for a tent,
The site is well laid out and nice flat /level pitches. At £13. 50 per night including electric hookup I think its very good value.
When we were there it was fairly quite so this left the centre of the field empty, which made a great play area for children.
New toilet block very good and was kept nice and clean, the shower block is in need of updating, also I think that the drinking water tap could do with moving away from the toilet empting point.
The owners were helpful and friendly. All in all a nice few days and we would visit again.
