A great campsite. Level spacious pitches. EHU is there but we didn't need. There are 2 fields and you camp round the edges. The new toilets are lovely and the older ones are fine.
The showers are clean and no queueing. The owners were lovely and stopped to chat and check we were ok. Chip van on a Saturday is a great idea.
We use this site to visit Moors Valley as it is a lovely walk through fields to get there. You can spend the whole day at Moors and dogs are welcome, the only cost would be the train and ice creams.
There is a massive car boot on a Sunday about a 10min walk away and also some stock car(banger?) racing after but I am not sure if this is each Sunday.
This site is great and very friendly, kids all played in the middle rounders etc. We were pitched by entrance and it was not a problem as gates are shut around 10pm.
We will use campsite again for all our weekend camps as 1hr drive and has Moors Valley/ New Forest for us, kids and dogs and is good value in area.

Very Helpful owners of this nice site. Clean and well maintained, grassy area to pitch with loads of room. Showers were a little cramped unless you could get to the family one.
Layout of this site was good as never too far away from showers or facilities. Also quiet site we slept in until 8. 30am no noise and it was very full and very friendly my son got involved in a site football game which kept him amused.
Full Vodafone signal too which is quite rare for sites we choose.
Good for a stop over in nice area.
Great Security as previously mentioned
Great value for Money

We have just returned home from this site after staying Friday - Monday, we were shown to our pitch by the owners and given a brief tour of all the facilities.
Although the main toilets and shower blocks appear to be a little on the tired side they are by far the best we have used, always clean and always hot water, in the main showers proper taps so you can set your own temperature and not be given a temperature set by the site, although the family shower is a mixer tap for safety.
As for the owners nothing is too much trouble and they are readily available on site all the time. A mobile fish & chip wagon pitches on field 1 Saturday between 5:30 - 6:30 (be aware we found them a little on the expensive side £5:50 for a small portion of chips and large cod) the food was very nice though. As well as the mobile fish & chip wagon they also have the ice cream van visit both fields every evening about 7 this was very reasonably priced.
The owners also run quite a strict quiet time at 22:30 where the main gates are pulled over and the barrier stops working (if you are late back you can park in the main courtyard away from the tents / caravans but this is only a 60 second walk from the furthest afield pitches).
If you or your group are making to much no noise you will be told to quiet down, we liked this as it gives everybody a fair chance to settle kids and young ones down.
The site is situated close to the main A35 with Bournemouth 15 minutes away and Ringwood 10 minutes. There is plenty to do within a very short distance. A good pub is situated only a 10 minute walk away.
The only real negative is there is no shop on site and the nearest shop is 2. 5 miles away, I know not too far but can be inconvienient.
We are going back for the August Bank Holiday, this site is a definite must try.

We have just spent 4 nights at this very pleasant campsite - we were a party of 2 adults and 4 children (19, 16, 13 and 9) with a very large tent. Even so, there was plenty of room on our pitch.
The toilets, showers and washing up area were clean and always had hot water whenever we needed it.
There is plenty of room for the children to play in the middle of the camping fields. We felt that the cost was very reasonable even including EHU. The owners were friendly and approachable.
The only minor drawback was having to pay cash rather than using credit/debit cards, but I guess it's worth it if it keeps costs down.
Places to visit in the area - we would recommend Moors Valley Country Park (a 20 minute walk along footpaths and bridle paths from the campsite) and the Royal Signals Museum near Blandord Forum - held the interest of all the children with lots of hands-on activities.
We had a very nice meal at The Three Legged Cross. We would definitely consider visiting this site again.

This was our 2nd visit to Gundrys (the 1st being in April this year) - we went back cause we love it here! Our 1st visit was for 3 days and we came back in April - originally booked in for 6 nights, managed to get a 7th night due to cancellation and still didn't want to go home!
We like the fact that all the tents/caravans are around the edge of the 2 fields and not in rows, the ground is level and there are trees all around the fields which give shelter from any winds (not that there were many when we've been there). The owners Baz and Lorraine don't go around enforcing rules but the campsite just naturally seemed to wind down at a reasonable time which is nice.
There are 2 toilet blocks (the new ones being a lot better than the old ones) and a shower block with a couple of sinks as well. We did notice that these areas weren't quite as clean on our 2nd visit but put this down to the fact there were a lot more people on site - but even then it was still perfectly acceptable for a campsite. We only ever shower last thing before they shut so can't comment on whether you would queue if went any other time (there are 4 showers in the unisex block) - they aren't exactly power showers but they are free, the water is hot and they do just fine - this is a campsite not a 4* hotel!
Even though it is only a very short walk down a gravel driveway to a fairly busy road you would not think this when you are on the site - it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere and that is great! However you are not in the middle of nowhere - close to the New Forest and all the places surrounding that, walking distance to Moors Valley Park and the car boot sale on Sunday mornings and 2 shops and a pub within easy walking distance.
Books to buy for 20p, 20p to freeze your blocks, 50p to charge your mobile, chip van comes round on Saturday teatimes - !
If you want a site with kids playgrounds, clubhouse infact anything other than a field to play then don't go here. You relax and make you're own entertainment - all the kids there looked to be having a great time.
Not to mention £12 a night for us 2 and our 4man tent - bargain!
We will be back again!

Stayed for 4 nights.
Lovely, large pitches, quiet and peaceful site. No noise early morning or late evening. As our pitch was virtually next to the entrance it would have been nicer if the pitch was deeper so that the road in and out of the campsite didn't pass quite so close to the tent.
Showers were to quote my 9 year old daughter 'rubbish'. My husband and children had a cold shower on one occasion and he was so fed up with trying to shower with no pressure, he gave up having showers at all after only 2. It took my daughter 15 minutes to wash her shoulder length hair. Showers really need updating.
Old toilet block was disgusting and didn't seem to be cleaned. The new block was OK but we never saw it being cleaned thoroughly and the floors were always dirty.
Despite the criticisms, we had a lovely time and the cleanliness of the toilet blocks wasn't a big issue. Hope owners take note.
Because of the showers, my husband would not go back. We would have preferred to pay more for decent showers. Maybe we're just fussy!
We have been to Dorset before and their is always plenty to do. It is a beautiful area. We have been before and would go again but to a better campsite.

Having read the reviews of this site after our visit, I am shocked at what I read because they differ greatly from the experience we had this weekend!
Our welcome from the owners was less than friendly - rude and snappy would cover it. A long list of instructions was given as we were shown to our pitch. On our last day we were telephoned to be reminded rudely to leave our pitch by 10. 30am (we had left the site for a short while that morning, leaving the tent to dry) as others were coming in, but friends of ours who stayed an extra day said no-one came to that pitch. Also, beware - cash is the only acceptable form of payment for the fees, which is ridiculous: we didn't get a receipt.
It had rained a bit during the week leading up to the bank holiday and the ground was sodden and it doesn't drain quickly. There was sloshy mud to walk through and a huge puddle right outside the ladies loo door. The car was skidding towards the barrier too.
The showers: rubbish. Nowhere to put anything, a dribble of water that I think was warm, but so little of it that it was difficult to tell. Smelled like rotten drains too. They were clean, though. The wash basins and toilets - again, clean. However, there was virtually no water coming out of the hot taps at all and if you were lucky enough to get some then as soon as someone else turned on a tap yours turned off! We heard lots of other comments about this while we were there too.
Please know that I have camped my whole life (nearly 40 years now!) so I have lots of sites to compare this to. I have never had a general feeling of being uncomfortable and unwelcome at a campsite before - now I have. We won't be going back and I would never recommend this site to anyone.

Would we return??
Two large level fields, fine but after some rain became quite muddy with car tracks especially infront of toilet block. Facilities basic and dirty. 3 showers and 1 family shower in block near the farm house, not enough for the amount of campers over busy bank holiday w/end.
Showers very dirty, old cobwebs and spiders, did not appear to have had a thorough clean in a long while. Showers barely adequate, as my husband said, 'you have to run around to get wet'.
Family shower slightly better but beware boiling hot cooper hot water pipes that are exposed, my son got nasty shock when he accidentally touched it!
Toilet block in second field is quite a new addition but that too is dirty, with a trickle of hot water & old bits of soap to wash hands and very often no paper to dry hands on. At least the 2 washing up sinks did have hot water and seemed to just about cope with the amount of campers on site.
Although on the campsite's website they mention campers are placed around the edge of the field so children can play in middle, at busy times they squeeze you in and fill up said play area which is a shame, and should be pointed out in their description.
However the best thing was that for groups of campers they place you in nice friendly configurations, not in regimented rows, like other sites.
Come on Gundry's Farm we are not asking for much.
So would we return? definitely not.

The actual site at Gundry's looks lovely, it is spacious and rural and flat. Somehow though our group of 4 pitches (9 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs) left Gundry's feeling a bit disappointed and vowing not to return.
The toilets and showers are not clean, they have been given a rudimentary wipe over, but the thick layer of scum in the showers and the vast array of skeletal insects in cobwebs show it has been a while since they had a proper scrub. The showers have NO water pressure at all, leaving those of us with long hair with wrinkly fingers or soapy hair!
The owners of the site were actually quite rude to us and our children on several occasions, including a telling off for cycling too fast on an open (empty) field in the rain.
Maybe we've always been lucky but we've never had so many rules imposed on us in a campsite, I thought camping was supposed to be relaxing? As for packing up and leaving at 10. 30, I think this is more suitable to a hotel. Okay you can pay for extra time but we weren't given the option, or informed of the time when we booked. This meant an early start and pressure to pack up an 8 berth trailer tent, again. Not relaxing!
Sorry to all who have enjoyed Gundry's in the past, its more of a regime than a holiday site!

Great site. Very family friendly layout. There are two large level fields, surrounded by tall mature trees.
The pitches are almost all around the edge of each field, with the centre area open for children to play. This is great as you can keep an eye on your kids from any pitch.
Toilets, showers and pot washing areas are all very clean. Only a couple of pot washing sinks. The owners are friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended if you want a quiet, simple family camping site. Will be returning.
