Just got back from this wonderful camp site after a 3 day break.

Me, (adult male) and my 3 children, 2 girls of 13 and 11 and boy of 5.

Had never been to the Bridlington area before and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the limited summer that we are currently experiencing!

The camp-site itself is very big and split into groups, static trailers, caravans etc.

The Tent side of things also has options, hard standings with/without power.

We went with a basic pitch which is a largish area that can easy house a 5 man tent + car, or as some people did, house a 12 man tent and park wherever you can, which isn't hard.

The site is clean and has very good showers, toilets and stand pipes. Drinking and non drinking water.

We actually took our own water, according to who you spoke to, the water tasted a bit 'funny'.

All amenities are of a reasonable distance and plentiful.

Decent playground, but with enough kids running around, the games they played were infinite.

At night the site was well patrolled and fairly quiet, if you want to be noisy late at night, do it in the club which stayed open until midnight.

Every one that was near to us abided by the easy rules.

I have to point out that the patrolling wardens were first class, helpful and friendly.

The site boasts many many activities and has a marvellous pool, although a bit on the small side, but nonetheless, the kids had many hours of fun in there.

I could go on for hours about all the excellent facilities there, internet cafe and local shop being right in there.

On booking in:

Simple to do with very helpful receptionists who were keen to make sure that your stay was as comfortable as possible.

In the foyer there are some leaflets on things to do in the area.

At one point during our stay, I managed to run the battery down on our car and had to borrow some jump leads, Reception to the rescue!

5 *s.

The Area:

You might want to look online and make bookings before you travel if there are specific things you want to do, or visit the sites internet cafe.

I think I'm right in thinking that Historic Flamboro is on a peninsula so coastline is never far away.

If you turn left out of the campsite, there is a lovely sheltered sandy cove, suitable for most folks, although there is a sharp steep decent to the sandy beach.

Something for everyone there with a cafe and typical beach shop, all within 1 mile!

Bridlington is something like 6 miles away and has everything that a traditional seaside resort should do.

We booked onto one of the many boats that do trips around the bay.

You have a diverse choice of craft, ranging from power boats to pirate ships!

We chose a boat called the 'Yorkshire Belle' which is a traditional boat with a cabin and bar. The trip was around 1 hour long and definitely the highlight of our stay.

Depending on tides, there are various times, call 07774-193404 to enquire.

Lots of pubs and eateries are in and around the town, make bookings for the more popular ones though as they get busy!

Had the weather not been so good, then undoubtedly our stay would not have been as good, possibly. But I'm sure there are plenty of things to do on those rainy days.

Overall:

Both me and the kids give Thornwick & Sea Farm Holiday Centre the big thumbs up!

Will definitely go back again.

On arrival we were dealt with efficiently by reception and a map was provided to get us up to the touring pitches.

The pitches are individually fenced off with log fencing, however this doesn't stop people walking down the side to get to the loos! But the layout needs altering to stop this happening.

There is no noise curfew at this site and it was noisy up until about 10/10.30pm most nights, with some nights having noise at 1 and 2am in the morning!

There are 3 toilet and shower blocks for the large touring section (one large one and 2 smaller ones). The first half of the week these facilities were far from clean (dirty toilets, floors, sinks and shower cubicles) and at times down right a health hazard ie Sanitary protection being left in the ladies showers. However by the second half of the week we noticed the site cleaners 2/3 times a day and they were much better.

One point to raise is that none of the blocks had a privacy cubicle with a sink, so if you just wanted to have a wash, you had to do this in full view of everyone. A positive is that the showers were very powerful and they lasted for a relatively long time on one 'push' and any queues quickly dispersed.

The electric pitches are generally level (but they still have general 'pot holes' and gentle slopes), but the non electric pitches are on a very steep slope!

Another point to note is that this site has a very open aspect as it is exposed to the sea on 3 sides, so excellent for kite flying, but terrible in bad weather (very windy and driving rain). We ended up leaving a day early after a terrible night where I was worried that the tent would be destroyed by the wind.

The other site facilities (bars etc) were not used by us, so I can't comment, other than the fish and chips were nice on the first night and at a relatively cheap price. The shop was well stocked with the usual requirements including a small fresh and frozen food section.

The child facilities such as play parks were poor for my 19mth old, they even had a board saying 'not suitable for under 5's' on the main park near reception and on checking it was just really climbing frames/large slides and no swings. This was the style of all the play park on the touring area.

I did use the launderette and a wash was £3.50 and a dryer was £1.50. There wasn't any facilities for 'hand washing' though. Ironing boards were provided, but no iron.

All in all, would I go again in my tent - No, but I may go in a static, just because I enjoyed my time kite flying and such, but the poor cleanliness of the toilets and showers spoiled my holiday, so I would need my own facilities!

First visit to this park and will go back again, stayed for 3 nights over the may day weekend. On arrival we were allowed straight on to our pitch, nice size pitch all fenced, level and well maintained.

On site there is a mini supermarket which is well stocked, fish & chip shop, an entertainment complex with a large bar with evening entertainment on for the little ones and a adult only bar with something going on from a quiz, bingo and a singer every night while we where there.

A indoor swimming pool and a cafe with take away service and open till midnight for take away service on a Friday & Saturday night, lovely food and staff all helpful.

Toilet blocks close to pitches which where clean and tidy throughout my stay.

This site was recommended to us by friends located about five miles from bridlington, ten from filey and fourteen from scarborough. There's also whitby, robin hoods bay, hornsea all within a forty mile stretch so good for a long sightseeing visit.
The site has a indoor swimming pool, kids play area, and three pubs (one family room, one traditional pub and one adult only entertainment).
On the touring field there are two toilet / shower blocks which are both modern and clean the ehu pitches are ample size and sectioned off so no one can encroach your space.
Now for the bad points, the distance from the touring field to the clubhouse was quite a walk especially with two buggies in tow. Also being on a cliff edge means stunning views but also means when it's windy it's windy

Just returned from overnight stay, booked in last minute staff really helpful, prices were reasonable. The club was child friendly and the entertainment was really good, a singer and a comedian for us old ones in the adults only room.

Its a fair walk from the camping site to the facilities but the weather was lovely so it was ok

The toilet block was a little dark as in decor not lighting, but it had everything you need.

The village of flamborough is close by and they had some fabulous scarecrows on display well done to them, I would def return to this site

We got there early, 11am and was able to pitch up straight away, even though we should not have arrived until 2pm. There were very welcoming and happy to see us.

We had pitch 191 and was right by the shower / toilets on a flat surface. Easy access to cliffs / rock pools, via steep drop but accessible. Good cafe on the cliff top A short bike ride away from shops and Flamborough head lighthouse etc.

Did not not use food facilities on site so could not comment.

Pool was great for the kids and kept them entertained.

Evening entertainment was great for the kids although slightly repetitive.

Weather was fab, however left a day early due to high winds, which are expected that close to the coast.

'HIGH 5' Other campers on the site will recognise this saying. Hope you are well if you are reading this and thank you for a great laugh. 16/8/9

This is a fantastic family resort, tent allocation is separated by log fencing which gives you the space you need. Reception staff are very friendly which is pleasant to see when you arrive on site.
Nightlife is well catered for all the family. Maybe the kids club should be more than 1 hour during the day.
Toilets and shower facilities are well cleaned and there are many of them. Barbecues are welcomed which is great if you do not use the EHU facilities.
Beaches are very close by and are great for kids to look for crabs in the rock pools (great for adults also) Take the dog as there are many scenic walks around the park. We cannot fault the park and we will return in the near future

Upon arrival the site looked very impressive with lush green grass and a general tidy appearance however all does not turn out as one sees, the slope on the touring pitches were a bit too much on the steep side, took ages to get set up and even then I was not 100% happy with the it but did the best I could.
The toilets were dingy and filthy.

The site is close to Bridlington and with the weather been fine we took advantage of some great days out there,

The on site entertainment is very basic with some young red coat esqe type of entertainers it was not very good, there is chip shop and eating places on site but they are a tad pricey but hey you pay for the convenience.

 Good points-

The best laid out pitches I've ever stopped on. We had booked large electric pitches and there was enough room for caravan, large awning car and various kids toys, bikes etc. We had a fairly level pitch however some are quite sloping and may cause problems.

Plenty of kids play areas.

Bad points-

The toilet / shower blocks weren't great (dated and cramped showers). However water was hot and no charge.

Problems booking - Internet booking unavailable, wouldn't accept bookings over phone. Accepted faxed booking at a push - May explain why the camp site wasn't full in peak season.

Reception staff (see below)

A group of us - 6 adults and 5 kids (Two tourers and one tent) visited in August.

Reception interrogated one member of our party who was delayed a day as to who he was, why he was paying for his holiday complex pass and setting up a day after the rest of the group had arrived - The fact he had already paid the pitch fee for what was a unused pitch was forgotten about. At one point we thought they where not going to let him on site and he had to produce his warrant card before they accepted his identity and reasons for being late!

Went to the complex one night whilst there to watch a band - You need to be there early to get a seat but drinks priced fairly and you can buy hotdogs, chips, burgers etc should you feel a little peckish.

Bridlington and Scarborough close by with plenty to do.

Looking forward to visiting the site again later in the year.

When we arrived here and checked it the reception staff were very friendly and informative. We were given a map to show us where out large electrical pitch was. Once we arrived at our pitch we was very happy because it was very big, tidy and also opposite the shower/toilet block which was a bonus because we had 3 children with us so they didn't have far to go.

Once we got settled we had a tour of the site. It was very clean and tidy, the shower blocks were clean and tidy. I must say the showers were lovely and hot. WE popped in the little supermarket they have on site and it sells everything you need so you don't really have to go off sight to buy much.

During our stay we did have a day of very bad rain but it was not a problem because the children went to the kids club and had great fun and we also used the indoor swimming pool which was lovely and warm. In the evening we would go down to the club and we had a really nice time there. They have kids disco til about 9.30 then its time to play stand up bingo which was fun then main entertainment would start shortly afterwards. The club itself was very clean and tidy too.

Also outside camp there are some lovely pubs which do good pub grub and are very child friendly. Also you are very near to a great beach with fantastic rock pools and caves to go inside once the tide has gone out. But I would not recommend this beach to anyone who has difficulty in walking up hills as its a very steep hill but only a short one. We are coming back to this site again this year and will continue coming. FANTASTIC SITE
