Have stayed at this site on server occasions including very busy bank holiday weekends and have never had a problem. The staff are very professional and friendly and seem to have things very much under control. This site is definitely a family with kids site as everything is setup for just that a indoor pool large shop which sells pretty much all you would need. The site is also equipped with a café, and in the evenings a entertainment/bar area which welcomes the whole family with fun entertainment. We always stay in a fenced off pitch which we think is great as you get plenty of space to set things up and park the car well out of the way of your BBQ. The pitches without fenced areas don’t seem as spacious but still seem reasonable. The toilets on site are normally very clean although as with many places increased usage during very busy weekends, leads to slightly slower standards in between cleaning, which seems to be frequent. There is a chip shop on site… Very nice…. The site its self is located within a short walk to the north landing beach in Flamborough with Bridlington and Flamborough being just a short drive away but remember to go early as parking can be difficult to find on those hot days. Overall conclusion: We will be going back.

Stayed for 3 nights at this campsite and enjoyed it. Large pitches, each one fenced off which was nice! The swimming pool was £2.20, and only quite small so we ended up swimming in the sea instead! 5 minute walk from the tent field to the coastline which was pleasant, but a bit of a distance to the shops and such. A Cafe with internet facililities, at £1 for half an hour. However there are only 2 computers! Otherwise the Cafe was fantastic - bought breakfast in here 2 days in a row! Large shop on site selling just about everything you could need on a camp site! However, it closed at 6pm which was a little early. £2 for club passes which are valid till the end of the season, though we didn't go in the club. Entertainment for younger teens was missing as there was an adult bar, and the family bar was for younger family members, so we went to the bar as North Landing instead, which is close by. Clean toilets and showers, and lots of them! Overall, a fantastic site and I hope to visit again soon!

Was really impressed with the staff, they were very helpful and friendly. Over the weekend the toilets became a little dirty. My niece really enjoyed her first camping experience and I will be taking her back again. Maybe a couple more play areas around the site wouldn't go a miss, as the only play area is very small and quite a distance from the tent area. The night life was great for both adults and children of all ages, which in my experience is a hard thing to manage. Again the entertainment staff should be congratulated on their enthusiasm for the job and the way they were with the kids.

Enjoyed the stay, will go back in the future, only let down is the expensive of the swimming pool. The shop is cheap and stores all your day to day needs. I think more play areas could be built around the tent pitches as there is only a little one located near the main area (the site is huge) we got lost a few times but a map is given to you at the reception. There is plenty to do around the site, sea resorts are only a short drive away and scenery is certainly not to be missed. We got a shock when we had to buy membership pass cards to access pool and clubs to prove you on on the site these are bought at a small fee for every person. Service pitches are fenced off which I think is really good idea. Plenty of security and wardens around feel safe in all aspects of stay.

We have loved this site since we stayed in a hired static 2 years ago. We are still very new to towing our caravan and decided to go here for a few days. The toilet/shower blocks were cleaned daily and the power of the showers were really impressive. The only down-side to the shower block was as no keys are issued and you are always aware anyone could walk in the block, (locks were on all the toilet and shower doors) but its still a worry. Saying that, patrols were frequent and help/support was only a short distance away. (Hubby had tightened gas pipe too much and I needed help to change the bottle, staff couldn't have been more helpful!)
We stayed on the super pitch, (supplied with own water/EHU/TV ariel plug in). It was wonderful! If you want a site 3 or 4 miles from Bridlington, you couldn't do better. We had a day a Brid, Filey, Robin Hoods bay and time a Scarborough...how about that for location! Summary is it's not the cheapest, but, (like me!) in my opinion its worth it!

May 2005 Thornwick saved the day for us, we had booked a certified C&CC site(11.50 p/n) that turned out to be the back garden of a bungalow, albeit a big garden, it was nevertheless a back garden, and the bloke that met us had a condesending attitude. Wasn't happy so we left and pulled onto Thornwick, got a superpitch at £22 (30-05 to 4-06) a night, staff really helpful and pleasent. This is a BIG site but everyone we met was very friendly, we enjoyed the cobble club, cosy little club with entertainment, bingo and a quiz night. Theres something about this place, we will certainly be going again.

May 2005 A great site with plenty to do and see. Could not fault anything on the site, kids loved it too. Got the tent up and went straight for a swim with kids. £1.75 for the three of us. Great fun. Got to the bar for 7.00 and was there until 10.00 with the kids back and forth to the kiddies entertainer on the dance floor.
Packed the tent the next day and spent an hour exploring the smugglers caves at the bottom of the road before heading off home. Really enjoyed it.

August 2004 On arrival at Thornwick, first impressions were excellent, and thru'out our weeks stay the facilities, views and weather were brilliant. Lots of clean shower blocks ( with free showers ), the evening entertainment at the Smugglers Bar was hilarious ( try and catch Douglas's Disco Marathon ), with lots to do for the kids aswell, thats if they're not too tired from swimming ( great pool ), organised football training, crazy golf, playing in the cafe ball pit, playing in the amusement arcade or taking one of the breathtaking coastal walks that surround the area. Thornwick is quite a large site and if you are unfortunate enough to be pitched at the back, you will have at least a 20 minute walk to main reception and all facilities. Wonderful place to visit, I think we will most certainly be visiting again.
