We received a warm welcome on arrival before being shown to our pitch. The tent area is kept mown and the pitches clearly marked and of a good size.
The ground is level and we were sheltered from the wind by the tall surrounding hedges. There are some sea views (glimpses) and overall the site is quiet, safe and well maintained.
The washing and toilet facilities were kept clean and tidy too. The shower cubicles are small (so they warm up quickly) and operate by the push button 'free' system.
There are local shops nearby and some great short and long walks can start and finish at the site.
The site would benefit from full recycling facilities, but this is a whole Island issue. Use of a 24 hr freezer would be helpful too. I would imagine the toilet and washing facilities would get quite busy during peak times.
There are numerous attractions, too many to list, on The Island but I would recommend a walk over Tennison Down and a trip to Osborne House.

Organised a Rally of 12 Units at Heathfield and couldn't hope for a better time. The pitches were of ample size and plenty of space around the field generally.
We made good use of the play field, football and rounders. Hosts were friendly and very helpful. Shops not too far away and a great pub serving good food in Freshwater, 'The Vine, give it a go but you'll have to book.
Agree with showers comments they could have been built with a little more room and the water hits you straight on the head so beware! However its the only ( small) set back. Everything is spotless,
Few moles on site but soon dealt with. Plenty to do near and far for all ages. Beautiful walks on the doorstep. (Walk leaflets from reception).
Huge dog walking field, which may be used as a rally field soon. Its no wonder people keep returning, we wil be back another year too!

We chose this campsite because it looked from the website as if it would be peaceful and well maintained. Well, I am pleased to say it was exactly that.
Our pitch and the whole site was perfectly maintained and the facilities were always clean. We went in August and I think I only had to wait once for the showers for about 10 minutes. I can't really complain about that! We have three children and they managed fine with the showers.
By about 9. 30 every evening the campsite when quiet and the rule about no cars driving after 10. 30 is a real bonus.
Our children loved the play field and were more than happy just staying on the site most of the day. The owners are helpful and friendly and we would certainly come back.
It is also in a lovely part of the island and even though there isn't a shop it only took a few mins to nip out for some milk in the morning. The freezer pack system works well too.

We've just returned from a week's camping at Heathfield. Despite mixed weather, we loved our stay.
The site is quiet, clean, well kept and in a great location. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Yes, the showers are a bit small, but they were clean & worked perfectly. The pitches are spacious, and the site has plenty of open space, so you don't feel crammed in.
Freshwater, with an array of shops, pubs & take-aways is a short walk away. It's also a short walk to the local beaches at Colwell bay and Totland.
The coastal path runs a few hundred yards from the campsite, and there's a good choice of local walks. This includes spectacular circular walks to the Needles & Yarmouth.
If you are looking for a clean, quiet, well run site, in a great location for walking and with local pubs & shops, then you can't beat Heathfield.

Just had a great two weeks at Heathfield farm the site is clean, quiet, and well run. After reading the reviews on this site I was quite looking forward to my holiday on this site, yes the showers are small but they are clean & hot but with them being small you find that people do not spend too much time in them so you don't have to wait long for one to become vacant not that I had to wait for one often.
The toilets are clean as well as the washing up room which also has a washing machine & tumble dryer placed over in the far corner.
We were very lucky with the weather and only experienced heavy rain once which did concern me as after 8hrs of rain the grass became quite muddy and if we picked weeks with considerable more rain I would wonder what the field would be like.
Booking in is easy and we were personally shown to our pitch and the people running the site were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I can say that the site needs is a small shop just to get a paper or a pint of milk in the morning, but the shops are a 10 min walk away in Freshwater.
Beaches are close within walking distance but I would say the best beaches are across the other side of the island at Sandown & Shanklin which is a 40 min drive away.
There is a play area (field) which is ideal for ball games etc and has brick bbqs for use as well. I do like this site and I am going to book my holiday here again next year hopefully.
Another reviewer mentioned the charge for the ice packs but it is noticed the funds from this goes to a good cause locally.

This is a lovely quiet camp site ideal for those who love having their own space, peace and quiet and great facilities.
Yes the showers are a bit small when your trying to get dry and dressed especially if you've got children in there with you, but because everything else is perfect on the site you kind of forget about the showers.
The pitches are all around the edge of the fields with no one in the middle so you have lots of space around you with no over crowding.
I have 2 little girls and they did say they wished they had a park to play on but the ice cream fridge in the reception made up for that.
The customer service couldn't be better. We will definitely be returning next year.

Lovely site, good clean facilities. Due to amount of rain a bit more hardcore along the 'driveway' to the first field would have helped avoid the very large puddles which gathered there. Liked the cctv reassurance, and closing the gates at 10.30 to keep later comers noise down.
Showers were tiny though, I'm only little and I found them really small. Basically you have a cubicle split in two by a shower curtain. And only 1 teeny tiny hook on the door to hang things. So keeping things dry while you shower is a real challenge - only take fresh shorts and t shirts as the rest would get wet. Plus there is no space to 'lather up'. You have to wait for the 'button press' to run out, then lather up, and press again to rinse as the shower curtain is the only thing keeping your clean clothes and towel dry. Mostly I drowned as the water was like a waterfall right on my head and I ended up swallowing lots.
Also only 3 showers each for men and women, although I didn't queue as site only half full if that. Would have liked bread/milk to buy, but local shops a short walk away.
Very peaceful site though. Needed recycling bins for plastic bottles and food tins, as had to bin these in general waste which amazed me for a Bellamy site. Also, should have a drain under the fresh water tap, as had to stand in water when it dribbled, and poured excess water into bushes behind bins (and so was everyone else!).
Also, why could I only exchange my ice packs 9.30-10 am! and why charge for this, I've had this free before, ended up costing us a few quid over the week.

This is the first time that I have visited this site, there are 2 reasons we chose Heathfield Farm, the first was that my son lives in Freshwater (we were visiting him) and the second was the reviews I read on this site.
My impressions are-
The showers, yes they are new and in general fine, my daughter and grandson (2 years 4 months old) were with us, the facilities for baby shower/bathing were very poor.
The only other issue I have is the curfews that are in place, no vehicle movements after 10-00pm until 7-00am, whilst in one way I understand this in our case it was not much of an issue, but there was one occasion where my son had walked up to visit us and was going home at about 10-30pm but had to walk, despite the rain that was lashing down. The same curfew is in place with the showers, no showers after 10-00pm and before 7-00am, as I am an early riser I quite often would like to shower at 6-30am, before the rush, on this site I am not given the option.
Because of the weather we had to use the laundry facilities, whilst the washing machine is fine the heat of tumble drier was very poor and therefore expensive.
Whilst this site is quiet and fine for some I will not be coming back.

We arrived back on Tuesday from 10 days at Heathfield, during which we had the most awful weather!
The campsite was excellent. Facilities all working and kept clean by the site managers Bob and Gaye (though I still don't understand why some people cannot rinse a sink out after they've used it!). We used the washing machine and tumble dryer (powder handily purchased from the site office).
Freezer pack service costs 20p a pack per day, with a set hour at 9:30am for exchanging packs, which we've never heard of before but it worked ok. Might be a pain if you planned on going out early in the day.
The site is very spacious and was quiet. The children had plenty of room to run their energy off, even without any playground etc.
The owners were lovely and very helpful.
Given the amount of rain that we had, the site drains really, really well - we feared it might turn into a muddy mess but within a day, it had drained and was maintained well.
No criticisms - the only think I would have liked was a bit more space in the showers - I'm only small so I imagine for anyone bigger, it would be a bit cramped but given that they worked well and were kept clean, it really isn't a criticism, just a preference!
The site office has leaflets with varying lengths of walks to do from the site - we did a 2 mile circular one to Colwell Bay which was great.
10 minutes (if that) to Freshwater where there's an excellent Co-op or Sainsbury's, both of which open late in the evening to stock up on groceries.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again if we travel to the I of W in the future.

We have just got back from Heathfield, it was fantastic and so are the Crew. All the pitches are individually marked out and unless you have a huge 12 man pod tent you will easily fit on the pitches even with the 1.5m rule which is enforced.
There is both a Sainsbury's and a Co-op within walking distance a round trip of 30mins at my pace.
The showers are a little narrow, particularly if you are showering with the kids or of a larger build, as there isn't much room to move, this wasn't a real issue, however note that the showers and the dish/washing facilities are closed between 10pm and 7am which could pose a potential issue.
By the way there is a public swimming pool about 20mins walk away which is great and has showers big enough to swing a cat.
There is a Cafe on the beach about 30mins walk away which does a great breakfast.
