First time out in a motorhome and first time 'camping' this century; so not much to compare with. On arrival the reception area made the Marie Celeste appear over-staffed. However, eventually got booked in officially 6 hours after setting up on a hardstanding that The Mother (and co-owner) directed us to by mobile phone (she's 87-years-old and if I had as many marbles as she does when I'm that age then I'd be very lucky).
The site appeared to have all the right sort of facilities: play area for kids; play area for adults (social club); shop; washing and toiletry facilities; water supplies and disposal. The downside was that the Gents were shut so used the Disabled, and then these were shut between about 1900 and 0700-ish hours. The shop didn't open at all, but the social club appeared to be the social spot of the area - although I didn't hear any noise from the place. The bye-pass road (A35 I believe) was busy the whole time and sounded as if it had a concrete surface as it was very noisy.
The beach is just a 5-10 minutes walk away and in less that a 5 minutes walk away from the site is a pub (The George?) that is tolerant of dogs on leads (but must be accompanied by an adult!) and across the road from the pub is a fish&chip shop - the latter handed out very generous portions, the problem there was that we were heading for a -2 degree night and had to wait for about 10-15 minutes in a converted open garage (I think the trick here is to order food, go for a swift pint and return to collect food).
Use the site again? Most probably, apart from the bye-pass noise it ticked all our requirements. One motorhome (plugged into the mains), two adults and two dogs for £17.50; is that good? Don't care, it worked for me.

Have just returned from this site, stayed for a week, stayed in the second field along which had a new toilet and shower block and washing up area, all of which were cleaned regularly, shower room closed at 9pm and reopened at 7am which I presume was to stop teenagers hanging around them, baby wash room had a belfast sink to bath baby in, which would have been great if there was a light bulb in there and it had a good clean (this was in the older toilet block) washing up room good, approx 6 sinks, one washing machine and one dryer.
Outdoor pool heated, kids park good, with a good range of things to play on, fenced off from path, bar, clubhouse was ok, teenagers loved it, but lots of kids unattended,
Really nice pub just along the road called The George, food great, very accommodating, fossil beach 15 min walk from site, local shop for bits and peices, there is a shop on site, but not very well stocked
Generally, nice site, would probably return

This was a good site and wasn't too busy for a bank holiday weekend. We had a really nice private plot in the corner of the furthest field where there was a lot of area for the family to play on. There was water available just round the corner from the pitch.
The facilities were great. Plenty of toilets, kept clean as were the showers. There were a couple of blocks of facilities, ours were nicer than the other. The disabled facilities were reasonable and we had no problems at all on this site for my sister and access in her wheelchair.
The takeaway served nice breakfasts. The bar got busy, to be expected on this weekend, it was reasonable. There was a small playground which was kept tidy. We didn't use the swimming pool.
The town didn't seem to be able to cope with the bank holiday weekend, we tried to get in various pubs and there were long waits if we'd wanted to stay around. In the end, even queuing for local fish and chips took a good half an hour. However, the location was easily accessible to West Devon and Dorset, and we visited various towns around the area, all lovely.
The only issue I had with the camp site was the noise of the very near A35. It was noisy at night and quiet often kept us all awake. If it wasn't for the noise, I would have returned to the site.

Well what can we say, had a great time. First impression as we entered the site was oh my god what have we done, but when we went into reception we had a very warm welcome.
We were shown our pitch and it was just how we had asked (level)brilliant. Even though it was a Bank holiday there was loads of room. We had a few problems getting down there as we live in the Midlands and the M5 just seems to get jammed near Bristol, but we phoned the site and said we wouldnt be there until around eight oclock on the Saturday night and was told dont worry we will always try and wait till all people who have booked arrive.
The pool was fantastic and Richard the life gaurd was again very friendly and was telling us about the history of the site. The club house was very smart although we didnt use it only for fish and chips the night we arrived. The showers and toilets were very clean and tidy and the showers were lovely and warm with free and plentifull water. All in all we will be going back time and time again. Thankyou Manor Farm for a lovely base to stay at.

This site is quite strange definitely 2 sites in one. When we pulled up on Friday eve I was horrified to see rows of caravans packed in like sardines and tents right next to the car park and main road. But when we checked in, the owner asked us if we would like to be near all facilities or away. We picked away and were given a pitch at the top of the 4th field bliss, our nearest neighbour was at least 200 yards away and the view was amazing.
We did not use the pool as weather was not good but our teenagers used club house just a few arcade machines to waste cash on friendly staff. The showers were clean but very small and only one hook to hang all your bits on, no shower curtain so everything gets soaked. Also no bins near us, we had to carry all rubbish right down to site entrance same with chemical waste only one place to empty again at site entrance.
Charmouth is very pretty and has a fab fish & chips takeaway not very much to do and you need nice weather or kids will become quickly boared. I dont think we will venture there again but on the whole not a bad site.

My 10 year old son and I, came at the end of July through to August. So we stayed for 3 weeks. We went with a very good friend & her family. My Son & I had a fantastic 3 weeks. The family who run the campsite are extremely, helpful, friendly & always stop for a natter. The Club house is great, once again friendly owners & staff. A great mixture of entertainment daily. Cheap drinks! Which was a godsend, as my best mate & I seemed to of consumed rather a lot at this place! My son had a wonderful time. It's also a great campsite to meet lots of different & very friendly people. I have made & met some really lovely friends! The facilities are good. Showers always hot & clean, toilets always clean! The campsite shop is very handy. The food in the clubhouse/ takeaway is always hot, tasty & fresh! My son & I will be going back this year for another 3 weeks! CANT WAIT!

Once again, spent the summer at manor farm, very welcoming, staff had plenty of time to talk to you even though very busy especially with the rain that seemed to never stop. The park was always busy, the pool was always clean, and warm and open even in the rain, club house staff very friendly, and family orientated, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, the new shower and toilet block in the middle field were absolutely fantastic and on a par with some top sites we had stayed in before. Once again, thank you very much to Robin, Valerie, Jason, Louise, Richard, Anna and Simon for a wonderful season see you next March.

We had mixed views about this site. We were directed to the top field at £21a night for 6berth tent 2 adults and one child, (extra £2 for hookup which we didn't use). Found a fairly level area close to the shower and toilet block, but there were few level areas. The block was clean with 4x free shower cubicles two of which had their own toilet. Only one gripe the shaving mirrors were to low (Ok if 4ft tall). The field did not seem to be checked while we were there. Rubbish was left by one lot of unforgivable campers and not cleared. The noise from the bypass bothered us the first day/night but we got used to it. On the plus side it had a nice club room, manned heated swimming pool, 12 to 15min walk to beach (passed Seadown site) and close to village for shops. Also large Tescos in Axminster and large Morrisons in Bridport both 6-7miles away. The site has a lot going for it but with extra attention could be a great site. It's advertised as "along side river" you wouldn't know it if you weren't told. Not a place to go fishing, however, excellent fishing off the beach near river mouth. Witnessed mackerel and pollack being caught the one evening stroll I had there. The area is great for touring many seaside spots short drives away.

Our first venture caravannning with the kids. The caravan was lovely; spacious (2 toilets!), clean and with a well organised kitchen and plenty of bedding, but the site itself was a bit of a letdown. The caravan area was right outside the main campsite across a road, and the noise of the bypass was relentless. The bins in the main site looked (and smelt) like they hadn't been emptied for weeks. The play area was a bit rundown, but the kids were happy enough there!
The site is ideally placed for a walk to the coast (lots of fossils to be found!) down a lovely lane, but if you don't want to eat on site the town itself is pretty limited choicewise; pricy pub or fish & chips were the only options. However, for self catering there was a very handy little shop in the town that had everything you needed. Good bus links for visiting other towns too - we had a lovely daytrip to Lyme Regis.
All in all an OK site

Paid for three nights at this site but only stayed for two. Half was due to the weather and half was due to not really liking this place much.
The toilet facilities were not good. Due to the weather there was a constant stream of muddy footprints. These did not seem to be cleaned up during our time there.
Same for the shower facilities, mud everywhere and awful for me and my three year old daughter. The size of a small wardrobe with only one hook to hang our clothes on, I gave up and didn't bother showering there.
We were in the very top field and the washing up facilities had not been completed in our block so we were expected to walk quite a distance to do ours, not very satisfactory.
The pitch was on a slope and very lumpy. I did not sleep well at all. It was virtually impossible to find a pitch in the top field that was on a flat bit of land.
The playground was full of rubbish and even an old rusty wrench! my daughter did not play there long.
Very old and rusty playground facilities, almost as though they had been bought at a random auction for old fairground junk to be honest.
The shop was well stocked but the staff were very slow, rather continue their conversation than serve you.
The club house was nice and the drinks were cheap enough. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food but it did seem popular.
However, We will not be visiting again at all.
