We camped here over a weekend in late June. At its busiest the site was not even a quarter full so we found it lovely and quiet. On arrival at Reception we were told to pitch our tent wherever we wanted. The shower and toilet block was clean and hot water was always available. The location of the site is good as it is close to the beach yet on the outskirts of the village - thankfully just past the main drag of pubs, shops and various eating places (all of which seem to have menus based on chips and which, with the exception of the chippie, all close about 1800 hrs). Not being fans of pub grub or chips, we were delighted to find that the award-winning restaurant at the White House Hotel in the centre of the village is open to the public. The A352 runs along the top edge of the site, behind hedges. We were pitched in the main area so the noise from the road, while noticeable, was not intrusive. However, I imagine the road would be much busier and, therefore, much noisier in high season. We didn't use the clubhouse or the pool so can't comment on them. I agree with a previous reviewer that the shop was basic, expensive and dusty/tired looking. We went to the supermarket in Bridport instead!

Charmouth is a quiet little seaside village with 2 fairly well stocked stores and a very pleasant pub (The George) offering a large garden, play area and reasonably priced pub grub. The village had a gala day when we were there with live bands, sports day, stalls etc.showing what a great community there is. Nearby Lyme Regis merited lots of trips out by us ( about an hours walk or use the P&R at the top of the hill). Proper family seaside/fishing village. We never ventured more than an hours drive from the site and enjoyed some memorable days out in all directions. As for the site itself, as others have said before, it's expensive for what you get. Within 3 mins walk you have the pub, 2 shops, fish and chips and a caravan / camping accessory shop. Why the site owners have bothered building a new , always empty clubhouse or bother staffing a 1/4 empty shop I don't know. Perhaps if they concentrated on the essentials like cleaning the toilets and showers and removing alcopop bottles left by teenagers from the kids play area they would have a busier site. Banning market traders in the adjoining field from using the toilets at 5AM would be a good move too! We won't be going back.

We stayed at Manor Farm for the entire 2006 season and had the most fantastic holiday time there possible. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and polite, the staff were never too busy to help us or stop and chat for however long we wanted. The site was very child friendly, essential with a busy 3 year old in tow who was kept entertained day and night by staff and other campers. Charmouth itself is a beautiful little village and we will be coming back for many years to come. It is the best site we have found and we have been touring for a few years now.

We (2 adults & 4 children 14yrs - 4yrs old) were very disappointed by this site. The facilities were very unclean and needed updating.
Lack of basic camping facilities ie bins and elson points other than near the reception, and we had to take bin bags down by car. The pool area was ok and the children enjoyed it as it was heated, however my time spent there (reading a mag on the patio area) was over whelmed by the strong smell of urine coming from the gents loos. The site does benefit from a new club house, playground and a new shower/toilet block on the middle field, but again these were not cleaned to a satisfactory standard with 2 weeks worth of hair in the drains! The club had artists on if your children enjoy 60's bands! I really feel that this site needs money spent on it in all areas, and according to local's this owner own's half of Charmouth and just opens another field up when it gets busy, without the staffing levels to maintain it. It was very expensive and different people were charged different prices!
I think the owner needs to do his homework and visit the 3 spotless sites nearby and take a few basic lessons from them. If going to Charmouth visit Seadown, Wood Farm or Newlands - you won't do wrong. The only saving grace for us on our 8 night break was the absolutely fantastic views from our pitch (field 4) You won't find this as good anywhere else.

Had a really nice couple of days at this site. Very friendly. Very clean (basic wash facilities). Great clubhouse even though we didn't go in. Swimming pool must have just closed for the winter. Shame though because it was absolutely scorching hot. Wonderful play area for the kids. About 5 minute's walk, once out of the site into Charmouth village with all it's cute little shops and pubs. Beach about another 5-10 minutes walk. Will definitely go back next year.

This site is situated in the beautiful village of Charmouth with its truly majestic beach. I was a little disappointed that I could hear the A35 but I couldn't see it. This road has nearly destroyed this wonderful site and the truly nice people that own it. You couldn't't wish for a better site to take children particularly stroppy 15 year old girls (yes she smiled). Some of the entertainment was a little cheesy but the party atmosphere was infectious. On the down side I do think that this site is a bit on the expensive side but it is well worth a visit as it is in easy reach of some fantastic places.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday. Lovely clean campsite, with a well equipped adventure playground. Toilet & shower blocks were very clean and plenty of hot water (free). The new clubhouse was great as it is no-smoking and the entertainment was very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was kept clean and they had strict supervision. This has been our first holiday here and we have made friends with people that have been coming here for many years. I would definitely recommend this site and we will be returning in the near future.

Plus points of this site were the friendly owner and staff, extremely large site means tents can be pitched almost anywhere, as close to or as far away from others as you like. The pitches with hookups on the other hand looked cramped together. The pool (attended) is another plus. On the down side, even the newest shower blocks already look 'tired' - and best not even mention the one in the top field! The shop is large but poorly stocked - a lot of empty space, which is a shame because apart from the equally small stores in Charmouth, the nearest supermarkets are in Bridport and Yeovil. Nonetheless, it gets the thumbs up from our family.

We have just stayed for a week at Manor Farm, had a wonderful time but this was despite the site, not because of it. The shower / toilet block is very modern but not cleaned thoroughly, although swept out I do not feel that it is acceptable for plasters to be left in the same shower for three days. The swimming pool looked much cleaner than expected but unfortunately the boiler was broken so the water unheated and freezing. The kids only lasted ten minutes. As our tent was pitched 100 yards from the hedge in the middle field the road noise from the busy A road would have been unbearable if we had wanted to sit outside the tent all day. It would also keep light sleepers awake. The park for the children has some excellent equipment, it just needs someone to pick up the rubbish around it. The shop has the basics but not brilliantly stocked. On the plus side, Charmouth is charming, the beach is only ten minutes walk from the site and there are excellent fossil talks and activities at the heritage centre. The village has numerous shops and pubs, The George is recommended for its excellent food, welcome, fantastic service and for the play equipment to keep the kids amused. We love Charmouth and dorset but will not be returning to this site, our thoughts were echoed by many of those around us. Judging by the amounts of spaces in the camping fields in one of the busiest weeks of the year there are many who do not return.

The family spent 4 days at Manor Farm and we would agree with many of the comments already made. A relaxed site in a beautiful location. Ten Minutes from the beach / river outlet and a child friendly pub in the village which does good food. As for the site, the showers were free with plenty of hot water. Manor Farm is however, overpriced at £18 a night for 2 adults and a 2 year old. We did not venture into the clubhouse. A portion of chips cost £1.80. Standpipes are few and far between, especially on the inclined top field, which is at least some distance from the noisy A road which cuts through the site.
