Very warm welcome from the wardens. Beautifully maintained site, lovely dog walking around the lake, very peaceful and calm site. Toilets and showers very clean. We stayed just 1 night as having A frame fitted, I think most of the people who use Towbars to towcars are recommended to use this site.
Lovely restaurant in nearby village, couldn't fault it. Whole experience was fab. Long way from home for us but if in that area again would definitely choose to stay here. Electric hook up was on a meter, first time we had encountered this but worked out very cheap. Hardstanding was excellent and level and tv signal was really good.

We have stayed at the Willows a number of times over the last 3 years, firstly in our campervan and now in our caravan. We have kids and have always had a great experience here hence our repeated visits.
The site is very well kept, pretty much as level as level can be and the toilet block is always clean and well maintained. The ground can become quite wet and cars are requested to remain on the track.
The play area and trampoline are great and our kids spend many an hour there or running around between the willow trees.
We love the position of the site as there is easy access to Hinchingbrooke park, walks along the river to Buckden Marina and walks over the water meadow to Huntingdon or Godmanchester. We have also cycled further afield from the site with ease.
The pub near by is very nice but I think it fancies itself as a bit of a gastro pub and prices reflect that. There are a couple of pubs in nearby Brampton, along with a garden centre and cafe and a convenience store.
The railway is far enough away as to not be a noise nuisance and our kids love trying to spot the trains as they pass. The water is far enough from the campsite, with fences between, as to be of little worry to kids playing on the site.
We shall certainly be revisiting on a regular basis and thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Despite the warnings from the wardens that the riverside pub next door to the site is to be avoided and overly expensive, it is very much a gastro pub, not a local boozer and is very good.
I arrived after dark, (the evenings close in quickly). I was directed to an unlit empty field and told leave my bike in a hard standing area some 100 metres away. No alternative but to unpack and erect tent etc in the pitch dark.
The toilet block is clean and the site was well maintained - I found the site via google and I am sure The Willows web site talks of wifi access, and makes much of being next to the aforementioned pub - this is what made me choose The Willows; so it was a shame on arrival to be warned against the pub, and be told that Wifi was £5 extra.
Given the proximity of deep water close by I wouldn't bring small children to the site.
Finally, you should be aware that the site is very close to a high speed railway line.

We arrived at the site and found the warden
I had rang prior to booking to confirm if we could have a guaranteed late stay as we were going to a car show on the Sunday and was assured that we could
However on booking in the gentleman wasn't aware of this and was a bit off put by my insistence that we had booked it saying that wasn't the usual thing
We were sorted with the late stay but I wasn't too amused as this was the only reason we had booked this site
Toilets and showers were nice and clean
Lots of notices on the toilet doors.
Excellent small children play area
Lovely walks
If we were to come back again I think we would stay on the CL site opposite and pay for an extra night to avoid the stress as it was lovely flat and secluded

Lovely site, clean shower block. Could do with a few more lights down the side of the block on the kids park side as very dark and quite a step!
Quite a lot of site rules and the warden is quite particular as to where you have to site your van (have to be on the X marks the spot) and makes you go back and forth to get it right place, even if it means going this way or that just to move by a few inches!
The seasonal caravanners seem to be very cliquey and makes visitors feel like them and us! Would visit again if I had to I suppose!

Clean and tidy site. Toilets and shower block well maintained and clean, never too busy.
We stayed a week and although a few people came and went the fields never got to busy and meant our boys were able to run aorund the top of the field without disturbing anyone. Enjoyed spotting the rabbits and ferrets that ran around the field.
The park is more for very young children but there is a trampoline.
Lovely walks into Brampton where there is a fish and chip shop and a co-op, or through the country park which has a wildlife area and large play area and coffee shop.Kids loved this as plenty of room to explore.
5 mins walk from Huntingdon railway station for trips into London or Peterborough at a reasonable price. Short drive to shopping centre which has a sainsburys.
Loads to do in the area highly recommend the air museum.
Owners were friendly and didn't bother us throughout our stay.
The negatives would be the skip luckily we weren't near it but did go to dispose of our rubbish and imagine in the summer and could therefore get smelly. Would definitely visit here again

A pretty site, well managed, bathrooms really good and clean too. Ideally located for walks to Huntingdon and Godmanchester through beautiful scenery. Lots of scenery and things to do nearby including Hitchingbrook park (1 mile).
Camping field was unique owing to no cars allowed (therefore lawns in very good condition). Trailers are ok next to your tent though. Cars were very nearby though - you have to walk through the willows!
Warden was obviously keen that the site rules were followed, but that's ok as it resulted in the immediate ejection of a troublesome family. Strict dog policy regarding dogs on leads at all times.
The only point of note is whilst it has an idyllic feel, road noise at night is noticeable, but I would let that put you off. There is no shop on site (A good thing in my opinion.)
All in all, we spent 3 nights there and had no complaints at all.

The site is in a nice spot. Unfortunately it was very full this weekend. In comparison to the majority of other sites we have stayed on we felt that the site felt overcrowded with vans, tents & motorhomes placed close together.
There was some pitches close to the skip for rubbish & we were glad we weren't near it as it stunk.
There are a set of rules & regulations given out which are necessary but could be phrased a little more humanely. Mind you I did feel for the warden when some idiots lit a fire near a tent. No fires allowed here.
The same group that lit the fire were playing games around all the vans & tents and at one point hit most of the cars and nearly my granddaughter but nothing was done.
Be prepared for a very regulated site, perhaps the most dictatorial I have ever been on.
There was live music at the local golf club which was loud & fireworks from another direction at gone 11:00pm. on Saturday neither of which within the sites' control.
The local rail line is in hearing distance as is the rumble of the A14. The road along the campsite is busy when the pub closes.
The pub, literally around the corner is fabulous.
Local delights included a Raptor centre which was great.
My other half & I don't intend to go back to the site as the negatives out way the positives.
This goes against other reviews & it may have been because it was so busy.

We visited this site with 4 friends in July 2010. The toilet and showers were very clean and the grounds well kept. There was a CL site opposite which was very pretty and both sites were in easy reach of Brampton and Huntingdon. A great spot for dog walking across the fields and meadows. The Mill Pub by the side of the campsite, was a lovely spot for sitting outside with a drink, although food was on the pricey side.
We agree entirely with Lyn and have never been on a site where there were so many rules and extra charges. A great shame as the site was pleasant

What a real gem of a camp site.
I've got to say we had an absolutely lovely time here. The pitches were set up beautifully, toilets, although a bit dated, were spotlessly clean. The showers were set up in a very interesting way which meant you didn't get wet from the floor etc after having had a shower. I did miss having somewhere to put my wash-bag as there were only sinks to wash at, no cubicles or little trays or anything. But this was a minor impracticality. Worth mentioning this site was very affordable too!
The chip shop is just a stone throw away, and there is also a big sainsburys as mentioned below. There is a play-ground on site, which incidentally was in perfect view for us which made it easy for us to keep an eye on our daughter. They asked if we had children and their age when I booked, so I think this was a deliberate decision on their part to put us there. Which was really nice of them! The play-ground could do with bit better variety of activities, but all in all it did the job.
Again, we found this to be a real gem of a campsite, and will definitely return soon.
