Fantastic site. My only concern was that you can't book without electric but site was not full even in August so maybe this is never a problem. Excellent showers (20p) and toilets. Very clean at all times. Hairdrier and electric socket for your own straighteners etc both charged at 20p (well worth the money!). Views from top of site great - can't comment on the bottom as the weekend we stayed there was a music concert in a nearby field so we stayed as far away as posible (although it was all over by 11 pm!). Washing up and launderette facilities excellent. Couple of minutes walk from a few pubs, eating places and shops in Tintagel (also castle). Great walks direct from the campsite and only a 5 minute drive from Boscastle where we saw seals in the bay. All in all one of the best sites we have stayed at. Definitely recommend.

This site does the basics quite well. Non electric users have plenty of space, showers are hot and enough to go round. Small playground for children, nice views. Very close to village and plenty of coastal walks and clean beaches nearby - so you can leave the car for a few days and get around with legs and the local bus service. Noise stops around 10. 30, peaceful first thing in the morning. No need to book in peak season, so good for a last minute camping trip. Toilets are cleaned regularly, but are quite old and few users seem to take pride in keeping them clean. Mind you, no mops or cloths are provided to clean up after yourself as in other sites.
Prices are at the top end though, and when you factor in the extra charge for showers, no freezer pack service, limited washing up areas and the age of the toilet blocks (no separate cubicles with sinks), it does start to seem expensive when compared to similar priced sites in the area and the extra services they provide for the price.
Great locations, fine for a few days, couldn't manage a full week with children with no way of keeping food cold. Probably much better suited for camper vans and caravans.

Have just returned from a week long stay at Headland.
As the other reviews here say - this sites best feature is its location - right in Tintagel within easy walk of the Castle and other tourist locations.
I was hoping that I might get a sea view, but we were at the bottom of the site where the majority of hookups are located, and there are only a handful of pitches at the top of the site that get any sort of a sea view. If the site had been the other side of the farm it would have been the 100% perfect location with perfect sea views for all - but you cant have everything!
The toilet facilities are a bit small and dated for the price of the site and paying 20p for a shower is a small annoyance. The only showers are at the top of the site, with toilet blocks at the bottom. The showers and toilets were very clean, but a bit cold cold inside as the blocks are unheated and the doors stand wide open all day. (There are no doors to the bottom toilets) The majority of the sinks also have push taps which means you have to wash with one hand.
However the dishwashing facilities were excellent with two double sinks at the top and bottom of the site, and instant hot water.
The site is on a slope but there are flat terraces at the top with hookup and a flat area at the bottom with hookups. The hookup areas have marked pitches - the rest are unmarked. The majority of the unmarked pitches are on a slope, but this varies from quite steep at the top of the site to almost unnoticeable at the bottom and centre.
Mosy of the site is open grass with 20 or so statics on one side, the only planting/hedges are around the top terraces. The hookup area at the bottom has adequate sized pitches, but as a tent camper you can feel a bit surrounded as most of these pitches are used by caravans and motorhomes.
The site shop is very useful and luckily had a replacement gas cylinder when I ran out in the middle of cooking - saving a trip to town!
All in all its a nice site with a few niggles, and a good location.

Oh the joy of arriving back at the Headland campsite. We stayed two nights on our tour of Cornwall and this was the cleanest, neatest and friendliest site we visited.
The owner is really helpful, but not too overwhelming and her little shop provides everything you need. Showers are 20p, but there is loads of hotwater and plenty of time to wash your hair for the price.
There are good washing up and laundry facilities too. The view is amazing, the pitches are well spaced and although the site was very full, you never feel cramped.
Tintagel is on the doorstep and there are lots of buses if you don't want to drive. This is a quiet site and very relaxing.
You won't be disappointed.

Lovely site. Just a (very)short walk from Tintagel castle, also easy access to coastal walks.
Lots of pubs and cafes in Tintagel and basic shops, spar and Londis.
The campsite shop also stocks basic provisions. Toilet blocks were very clean.Showers were 20p but lasted more than long enough and were powerful and just the right temperature.
Small playground for the kids. Also had washing machines available for use but we didn't need them.
£15.50 per night for 2 adults and 2 children which was ok especially as the weather was fantastic! We will be going back soon!

This was a lovely campsite, very basic but very clean with a small climbing frame for kids in the middle of the field, small shop, friendly owners and only 5mins walk into the village, lovely coastal walks and beautiful views. Will go back again. King Arthurs castle well worth a visit, but very steep climb, Merlins cave accessible at low tide. The post office in the village is very pretty, plenty of pubs. When all the day tourists have gone it's lovely to take a walk and see the shops without the crowds.

I have used this site many times in the past.
It is a 'basic' site when compared to other grander locations but, and here's the big plus, it is that the site is well situated if one wishes to tour around the area.
I also find the slot machines for the showers a pain: Surely they could be on a timer push button like lots of other sites have adopted
Something that really surprised me seeing that this is not one of the big sites is that their 'Grey' and 'Black' water disposal facilities are up to continental standards ie drive-over. When I asked the owners about this, they said that it didn't cost them any more to install when they did the job so they thought 'Let's get it right!'

I have used this site once and sometimes twice a year for the last twelve consecutive years. The site owners have never been anything other than extremely helpful and polite.
I have seen this site maintain its standards for over a decade and have never had any inkling not to return. Hot showers, washing up and laundry facilities all on site, the small shop stocks most thing likely to be needed, if not a short walk into the village will get you what you desire.
The views over the coast are just awesome as it the atmosphere of the village itself, with well stocked shops and food outlets everywhere. The castle draws masses of people everyday, but after the coaches full of tourists leave the whole area returns to a very pleasant relaxing ambience.
I would recommend this site to anyone, quite and a real gem on the north coast.

For the price per night of this site I found it very basic.
We were put right at the bottom of the field and the toilets there we not to be used. They were dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned properly for a while.
Having to pay for your shower, even though this site is the same price as others that the showers were free, I found this a bit much.

As other reviewers have said, this campsite is just a couple of minutes walk from the lovely village of Tintagel. It has a useful little shop which sells basics and stays open till quite late. The cost was £19.50 per night for caravan with EHU two persons and dog. The toilets/showers were OK, but very busy during peak periods. There is a mix of statics, tourers, motorhomes and tents. The site is mainly grass with just a couple of hard standing pitches. The only bad thing I found about this site, was the farm next door: they would start work at 5:30 on some mornings making a lot of noise and generating clouds of dust. Not exactly conducive to a holiday atmosphere. During my two week tour of the West Country, I tried many different pasties, but the best I found was from the Pengenna pasty company in Tintagel. Theirs were truly delicious, and you could see them being made by hand in the shop, strongly recommended !
