After arriving a day late due to the electrics on our car playing up we arrived at the Campsite not really knowing much about it. We checked in at the reception which is the opposite side of the road to the actual touring park itself. The staff were very helpful and told me exactly how to get to my pitch.

We were at pitch number 29, the weather had been very wet to say the least and our pitch showed it. It was our first time touring in about 15 years and we couldn't wait to try out our caravan and awning but as soon as we saw the puddles on our pitch we decided against putting our awning up deciding that it would be better to wait until another dryer time to try it out.

The toilets were nice and clean with free showers and hair dryers. You're given a four digit key code to use to open the main toilet doors and you need to use that if you want to use the facilities.

We used the costcutter on site and that seemed to stock most things and we also used the take away on site. It was very busy with not enough staff when we visited but I assume that there would be more people working there at high season.

Had a wonderful meal at the Aggi in Braunton and would highly recommend it to everyone, great food and service with a three course meal for four big eaters costing us £63. In all I would return to Croyde bay but not to Park dean as it wasn't my cup of tea. As previously mentioned it did feel as if we were a bit packed in and that there wasn't a lot of space between pitches. I prefer larger spaces around pitches and would be willing to pay a wee bit more to ensure that.

We arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon whilst walking the southwest coastpath and were rather unprepared for this campsite. It was very pricey, £18.00 for two people in a tent, with no car.
The toilet/shower facilities were ok, but you would expect them to be a bit nicer for that price. The field where we were put was very busy with people celebrating birthdays and making a lot of noise late into the night, which made it difficult to get a good nights sleep.

Very friendly welcome at reception, great location, facilities fantastic, well stocked shop. Right on the beach. We arrived on a week the children went back to school, so the site was fairly empty and we had a good choice of where to pitch.
Toilets and showers clean and plenty of hot water. Entertainment excellent and plenty to occupy our 2 year old. The weather turned out to be superb and we spent loads of time on the beach. One thing that spoilt our last night (which was a Friday) was the amount of people who descended on the site for the weekend and the way they were all crammed into the fields - it was very noisy and we couldn't wait to leave the following day. I wouldn't therefore go back in busy periods. Apart from this we had a fantastic time and would recommend this site.

Just returned from staying at Ruda 7th- 12th Sept and was a bit disappointed. The toilets were not cleaned that frequently and we were there for 6 days and the soap did not get refilled. It was quieter during the week so the toilets remained at an acceptable level but at the weekend when it became very busy the toilets were disgusting.

On a positive note the pitch sizes were very big and we were allowed to move from the original pitch as it had a man hole right in the middle of it.

The beach was amazing and definitely the best bit about the site.

Well, what can I say? superb! what a truly stunning part of the country. Ruda was a nice site with great facilities, and the on site cost-cutter was actually very reasonable and had everything you may need. We didn't attend any of the evening entertainment so cannot comment on this. Our pitch was quite uneven and a little boggy but we didn't mind at all. The shower blocks were ok, constant supply of hot water, could do with a bit of a better clean. Pitches are a little packed in, but were fine for us. All in all, a great holiday and will most definitely be returning next year.

This site has everything you need for a fantastic family holiday, except a reliable hot water system. Make sure you go with deep pockets, filled with money, as it is an exercise in ways to part you with your cash.

Ruda Park is like a small village and Parkdean Holidays have things sewn up. Every accommodation requirement is catered for including self catering apartments, a large holiday home, chalets and statics, as well as a large number of standard camping pitches and 91 motorhome pitches (found across the road in Croyde Burrows) All looking over the lovely Croyde Bay.

All the staff I came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. There was a mix up with our booking and the reception staff sorted it out in our favour within minutes, and no one got hot under the collar.

I stayed in Croyde Burrows (for caravans & motorhomes) with my daughter, and friends that we travelled with stayed in a tent on Ruda Park, so I did a bit of to-ing and fro-ing across the road, and availed myself of both sets of facilities. The toilets and showers on the main campsite were not great. There was water but it was cold and there was sand everywhere. The toilets and showers on the Croyde Burrows side were much better, but still inadequate for the price that you pay. There was hot water in the shower, but no obvious hook to hang stuff and a slimey shower curtain - I only found the hook after all my clothes hit the deck and got soaked.

Washing up was a pain at times, when you turned on the hot tap nothing came out, not even cold, so hanging out at the washing area while you waited for water to come through was de rigueur.

This site has everything you need, including a Costcutter convenience store, takeaway, Harvester-type pub selling beer and food (free wifi in this area), cafe, surf shop, swimming pool with fun slides, amusement arcades, children's and adult's entertainers, children's play area, David Bellamy awarded nature zones etc etc. All this right on a beautiful sandy beach with great surfing opportunities, and a short walk or drive away from a small but adequately serviced village.

We travelled in high season, and even though there were people everywhere, I didn't feel crowded out or cramped, except in the amusement arcade following the evening children's entertainment. Our kids loved this bit.

We had a really great holiday, but be prepared for cold showers and long washing up sessions. For this price I expect better.

I have been visiting Croyde for the last 30 years and never get tired of the place. This year we booked a sun holiday and stayed in a static for a change. All facilities are there, but I do agree with others re prices. It is a shame Parkdean have taken over the whole show and it shows in the penny department.
However, the staff were helpful, shops on site were very good with everything and more that you need. I have no children, but what I did see is lots of happy faces. The entertainment was very good and the comedian brilliant. I thought the statics were very close together though.
The best thing about this site is that is it situated right near the beach, with lifeguards, kiting, soft sand, cafe, rock pools, dunes and of course surfing! We actually stayed on the beach with many other until 7:30 at night!
The surrounding area is magnificent with plenty of walks, wildlife up baggy point and croyde village which has 3 pubs that do food & 3 restaurants, ice cream parlour and craft shops. There also fishing pools and meadows with lots of bunnies to bee seen.
I would and have recommended this site to lots of my friends in the past - all who have said what a lovely place of Devon it is. I am hoping to go back with the tourer - so look out for my next review!

The village of Croyde is very quaint with nice pubs and a handful of surf and gift shops but that's about it. It is in walking distance though. The site itself is situated right on the beach. The beach isfantastic as is the sea with a decent level of surf but perhaps not as good as some Cornish beaches, Crantock, Perranporth, Fistral etc.

The caravans are very good, modern and clean. Parking is good being able to get a couple of vehicles easily parked next tothe van. On our visit we were on the end of a row right next to the campsite area. This seemed a bit hit and miss and pretty much, pitch where you liked. The toilet and wash facilities are average to good. Noise can be a problem from the campsite due to the very nature of thin canvas I suppose but nothing too unruly and nothing after 11pm.

The swimming pool is good and cheap enough for residents however the changing areas are open and dated. The pool itself has jacuzzi area, slides, moving water current thingy and small slides for little uns.

The bar and restaurant is good. Food is good and drinks well priced. There are amusement arcades, pool tables and other bits. Be warned, the club gets packed and the drinks are more than the bar, a lot more, I didn't go back after the first round, rip off!

The shop is adequate and the cafe is good for breakfasts.

The roads to and from Croyde can be narrow and probably not much fun if you are towing a larger unit.

There is a fish and chip shop called squires in Braunton, just up the road. This is THE best I have ever been to and is always packed. This is a must visit place!

We were caught unaware by a beach front music festival that we were not told about when booking. This played music into the night and we had to leave a day early as nobody could sleep so this spoilt the holiday somewhat.

Spent a week here early July in our tent. Very noisy and busy site with lots of tents crammed into 3 fields. Pitches average & most are level but some uneven. Toilet blocks good and clean and showers warm and adequate.
Camping overall was a 'festival' type with groups having parties until the early hours and there does not seem to be any rules about noise. Superb facilities with pool, play area, field and location.
Cafe, bar and take away adequate and prices are what you expect to pay on a site. Very clean and well looked after site, but very lively and very very windy. Location makes it a surfers paradise!

Wanted a short break with good surfing, so headed for Croyde Bay!

Only wanting to stay a couple of mid-week nights and it not being peak season, we fronted up at the only site that seemed open!

The Staff seemed welcoming, friendly and helpful in booking us in!

Although the site seemed geared up to make the most of the children spending money (amusements everywhere) the actual facilities were very good, with the bar / restaurant being excellent.

Price wise, not the cheapest, but then given the facilities and the prime location, we still didn't think it was expensive.

Hey, can't be that bad, we have decided to bring the kids down here in August!

There are a number of paddocks, with the pitches around the edge all having electrical hookup.

They marked out the middle pitches after we put our tent up, which should stop people pitching in the grass roadway (Like we had!).

We had a great break, cracking weather and the surf? Non -existent, (but apparently that is beyond their control!)
