Have to agree with other about the new toilet block. Although done nicely and modern I think it is a real step backwards for this otherwise super site. Still cant understand why the grey water has to be lifted onto the chemical toilet disposal, not exactly hygienic.

Visited Cawood park in Easter. Best site I have ever been to apart from Scotgate in the lakes.
Cawoods toilets are excellent.
The new super pitches are great ( we were one of the first to stay on them )
Site owners and wardens are friendly.
Not sure if it has a play ground? :(
The site is located not far from Tadcaster and is near lots of great tourist attractions
The shop is not that big but covers everything you should need to buy if you have forgotten to get anything when you were out during the day.
We are returning again between Xmas and new year.

1st time on this site, didn't like the grassed pitch very uneven, the water waste and toilet disposal was in the same room, was a bit strange.
Shower block was new but very poor pressure on the shower, the girls couldn't rinse the shampoo off their hair.
Club house and entertainment were spot on though.
Nearest supermarket was in selby town centre 20 mins away.
We wished we booked the super pitch now and paid extra for our own bathroom. Pleasant stay
We wouldn't go back.

We have just returned from a week at Cawood. Upon arrival our initial impression was that it looked very tidy with a bar terrace overlooking the lake, and static caravans set out nicely. Cawood is a pretty village and so we eagerly waited for the reception to open (we had travelled early to avoid the busy bank holiday traffic, and realised that we may not get our pitches until later). However, the receptionist greeted us with a stern telling off for being early - but did say our pitches were available. We had booked some time ago and requested two hardstanding pitches together. We were asked which of our units was the smaller (both over 22ft), but ours was the larger of the two so we told them this - I did however query that we were both pitching full awnings and had large cars. We then discovered that we had NOT been pitched together, and although we told them we were advised at the time of booking this would be okay, they were full and were disinterested in our request.
We proceeded to our pitches, and neither were hardstanding. My brothers pitch was very small, and in order to assure he had room for his car he put his caravan as far back as he could. However, still in line with the marking slab, when his awning went up, and the occupants arrived along side him, there was approx 3ft between awning and caravan. We felt our pitch was enormous by comparison, but still approx 8ft between us and neighbours!
We were determined to enjoy our stay and the men tested the bar and said how pleasant it was.
The shower block was indeed new, but we had 3 showers and 3 WC's in the ladies, and same in the gents. This was the only block on site - which was full. The layout in our opinion was badly designed, as one had to step into the shower tray in order to close the door. You had no shower curtain and only a small space to get dressed. The shower itself was adequate, but in the end we used the shower in our caravan

Just returned from a weekend at Cawood park. Site was easy to find with good access. All were very friendly and helpful.
This site is clearly work in progress. The hard standings are stones which aren't level, the pitches are too close, we couldn't put our awning up as caravan next door although on the correct pitch, was too close.
The new toilet/shower block, although very nice had no ventilation. Consequently more like a sauna, everything was always soaking wet. Just teething troubles I guess.
£10 deposit for the key and barrier pass is excessive and the pool only suitable for under 12's who must be supervised.
Location not great, nearest shop is 5 miles drive. Not all bad though if you like fishing and great entertainment at the very smart club this could be the place for you.

Well, have been here three times now this year, the site as per previous reviews, is well run with polite staff, little shop with papers, etc, very nice clubhouse. We went to see a tribute band, which was included in the two night pitch fees. (£30 ). But for some reason, they left the old toilet block looking like it had been vandalised and declared the new one open.
No ventilation, so at peak times it was like a sauna, when it did calm down, the floor, walls, mirrors were wringing wet through. The shower trays were too big for the cubicles, you had to stand back in them to get out, which, given there was no mop, left them covered in footprints for the next camper. Taps too big for the sinks, no paper towels in the dispensers. BUT, the waste bin closed itself by battery power, marvellous !
Would go back, but would ensure toilet block was sorted, which I suggest any prospective campers do.
Barring that, good weather, good time and Alfie the Afican Grey opposite kept us amused, (the s-in-law who was camped at side weren't too impressed Though !

This is a lovely campsite and very well kept. We arrived on Saturday and found the booking in very quick and easy.
We were disappointed with the lack of facilities for children as they don't have a play area. We went into the on site bar on Saturday evening at about 5.30 for a couple of hours the bar looks to have just had a refit and seemed very cosy. The on site rules allow children into the bar until 10.00 PM which is plenty late enough for us.

We arrived late afternoon and easily found the pitch we had been allocated on booking. We were a little shocked at the £10 deposit for the key card as we have only ever paid £5 elsewhere.
We were very close to the toilet/shower block and found them warm and clean every time we visited. The main problem we had was there wasn't any hot water or tepid water for that matter. We reported this and were told that there was a problem and an engineer had been called but could not resolve until the Monday. They could reset the boiler but it didn't seem to make a difference.
We did visit the Swimming Pool having had it booked it for an hour. This was included in the price and was nice and private thanks to the maximum amount of 8 people allowed in the pool.
On the Saturday night there was an artist, we arrived half an hour before he was due 'on stage' but could not find a seat as the house was full. We managed to find a seat in the conservatory and a round of 3 pints and 3 soft drinks for less than £11 was in no way expensive.
The children enjoyed the Wii and we had a great night. In short, we had a lovely relaxing weekend, walking around the lake and watching all the people trying to fish on the frozen lake.
Shame about the hot water, this was main reason we didn't do a rally.

Second weekend here a lovely site fishing lake small pool great for younger swimmers, and a club house with entertainment reasonable prices too.
Spent Halloween there, first time they had done an event for this weekend and it went well, pumpkin competition free pumpkin too, ghost walk fancy dress competition.
Going all this month as they had a good deal on.
My only gripe it could do with a children's play area, but my son entertained himself with the other children or fishing.
The use of wii is great for the kids, small shop well stocked. Handy for York ten miles up the road.

Cawood caravan park is a lovely little place, very close to cawood village, 10 min walk to the local pub. The site has a little shop which stocks everything you will need. The indoor swimming pool is good for the kids.
The clubhouse had good entertainment and service at the bar was very good. Showers were always clean but the water was a little hot. The site itself is a lovely place but I won't be going back due to one idiot who decided to play music at full blast and annoying everyone there. The receptionist did tell them to turn the music down after we complained but went back up after they had gone
