We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at this campsite.
The site is only short drive from Harlech and there is a great walk through the woods behind the site to several lakes.
The site is very family orientated and there are family showers with baby changing facilities in the ladies and the gents. Both the kitchen and the shower block were always clean.
This is an excellent campsite for families and is ideal for visiting Harlech and the surrounding area.

This is a great site for families and couples looking for a relaxing break.
We stayed over the bank holiday it wasn't too busy and were given the freedom to choose our own pitch. We had loads of space and our kids had loads of room to play football.
Toilet and shower blocks were very clean - showers really warm and only a short distance from tent. Family shower facilities provided in the ladies.
The dishwashing/laundry area equally clean - there was even an iron should you need it! Freezer facilities for ice packs was available.
Some great woods behind the site great for exploring with the kids.
Harlech only minutes away with some great views and of course the majestic castle. Porthmadog also just down the road.
We will definitely return to this site - as others have said you can hear some traffic noise from the road but equally you can hear horses neighing and lambs baahing!

We were pitched at the top end of the site and given our choice of pitches, these were on a slope in a dip so the tv reception was only via the supplied point (couldn't get freeview) and the waste and water points were good. The pitches were separated from the tarmac track via a grass strip and this was extremely wet so the caravan was positioned by the owner using a front hitch on his 4x4 pickup and we were asked not to put our car next to the van, but alongside the road, presumably so as not to churn up the grass which is fair enough. The wash facilities were good- free showers- although I didn't realize the elsan was partially blocked and on emptying the cassette it over ran which wasn't very pleasant prompting the use of a mop to shift the, er, blockage! I didn't find the owners either friendly or unfriendly they just did their job and that's all you can ask.

We only booked this on the last minute and couldn't have chosen better. We stayed over the first bank holiday weekend in May, but the site was fairly quiet. The owners were helpful and could be seen mowing the grass and doing other jobs around the site. The picnic tables brought over by Mr Roberts were very welcome.
Toilets and showers very clean, I liked the mirrors in the ladies at child height over 2 of the sinks, so they could see themselves. The laundry room was the best we have seen, ironing board, hairdryer, tumble dryer and washer all taking tokens. 2 electric sockets we saw being used to pump up airbeds, very handy.
We stayed on the lower field which was perfectly flat. There was a bit of road noise but after a while we didn't notice it.
No shop on site, it would have been handy even if just for milk etc. Surrounding area lovely, ate at the Oakely Pub/Hotel about a mile further up the road, food very good. Would recommend this site.

This site really lived up to it's press and we were very impressed. On arrival we were met and dealt with most efficiently- had a choice of spots in a well laid-out field with hook up. The main road can be heard on the lower field but is not intrusive, and the site 'everyone please keep the noise down' policy worked very well, resulting in a very relaxed stay.
We stayed for 2 out of 3 nights as we wanted to pack up before the weather turned (which it did), but had a whole day so only missed the last night since we left at about 1800 hrs.
Highly recommended site with excellent, clean and well considered facilities.

At last we have found a campsite that befits the glorious surroundings. Upper field was a haven and remained dry despite worst welsh weather! Lovely walks adjacent to site, beaches a few minutes away, shops a few minutes away and even with all the rain we kept young family happy for the week. Toilets, showers, washroom and facilities on site all very good and always clean. A fine relaxing site with plenty of space for children to play.

Nice quiet site. About 5 electric points near entrance road. Main road also very quiet at night (and not too noisy in the day, either!). Main block only 20 seconds walk from lower field. 4 Showers external to the toilets (very clean) - each has locked door, curtain, changing area and mat. They are also cleaned regularly. Showers tokens have since been replaced with a FREE pushbutton. Ice Pack freezing 10p per pack, Indoors has 4 sinks & washer. GAS cylinder replacements (I know, I forgot mine and had to borrow one for the price of a refill).
Friendly staff. Large field for caravans, statics and two lower fields for tents - large pitches separated by foxglove borders. Woodlands to the rear, worth a tour with a children. Nearby Attractions: Harlech castle, Portmeirion, Ffestiniog Railway (expensive) and Welsh Highland Railway (better value I think). TESCO is 10 mins away in Porthmadog (also Woolworths).
Larger attractions are about an hour's drive. There's generally not a lot of attractions to fill the week, But the beach is nice - Drive to Harlech, don't take the first turn to Traeth beach (you'll have a long walk past a golf course if you do). Instead, stay on the A496, turn off for Llandanwg Railway Station and the beach car park is further on.
On the site, Bricks are available for barbacues and a single push button clean water tap at the entrance. Waste water grid and chemical toilet cleaning room available. People who stay there are quiet. Any children playing football in the centre of the field, stop at 10.00pm and obey the rules. Also, no dogs allowed, tied or otherwise, in the interest of hygene.
The only downside to the site is the large number of midges! There's no lake or gnats, but these darn tiny midges that come out at breakfast and after tea (due to the large woodland area nearby). The whole family were bitten, despite insect wipes and other deterents. I have enough bites to play 'join the dots' on my arms, neck and face now!

This site was fantastic. The facilities were excellent, spotlessly clean and not a queue in sight which was a big surprise considering it was Bank holiday weekend.
It is a little away from things but that was just what we wanted having a young family.
We will definitely be going back soon!

Had a great time at this peaceful, well kept site. The owners were lovely and very helpful. We stayed on the upper part of the site which due to it's row of units gave structured living. The only issue was in the evenings when the sun went down early behind the hills as the temperature dropped quickly. Sitting out was not an option. We therefore headed off on walks into the woods in search of badgers. Didn't manage to do this but saw plenty of owls and birds of prey. The bats were plentiful too. Had a great time one evening at the local banger racing meet, great fun! Tranquil place for a get away from it all break.

Our first camp, & what a fantastic one. Incredible facilities and the cleanliness was legend. I can not fault this. Friendly and helpful owners.
We had a choice of pitches and decided to go up the hill to a good, flat pitch, sheltered in a dip, nice views, near the toilet block and quiet. Even though we did not want a hookup, as the grass was suffering from the wet summer, we were offered this. The grass was in fair condition, and we were asked to drive carefully & not churn the grass (very reasonable). Even so, by the end of our wet week the grass was quite muddy, not surprisingly.
Dishwashing area was spotless with plenty of hot water. Shower with a 30p token, exceptionally clean & with enough time for mother & child to shower. Hairdryer available (for 20p?) but we took our own dryer.
Laundry room very good, but I had to use the lower block as the tumbles weren’t working up the top on that day. These use different tokens, so just had to get them changed. The next day the tumbles had been mended (very quick).
I would recommend this beautiful site, & would come back again.
