We stayed here for a weekend in May. Party was me and the wife and two 16 year olds in a motorhome. Price with hook up and entry to the theme park was just under £150 as it was low season.

At Flamingo land you don’t need to book camping and I believe it is never full even in summer. The camping fields are massive and most have EHU. The camping area isn`t particularly pretty, but toilets and showers were clean and plentiful. Lots of room and water taps everywhere. You choose your own pitch and on departure day there is no rush to leave so the kids can have more time in the theme park.

The theme park itself has some really good rides and top tip is to get there at 10am as there are no queues at all. We got straight on most rides.

The club house has just been refurbed and there was entertainment each night. I would say it was very good. One night was Abba and the next Lady Gaga, it was more of a show then a band and kept us all entertained. There are a few other bars too that we did not visit.

Food and drink prices were reasonable, for example fish and chips £4. 95, a pint about £3. 30, a coke £1. 50. There is a supermarket shop on site too.

Dogs are welcome in the theme park but not in the zoo.

Recommended and would certainly go back.

Just returned from 2 nights over the may bank holiday, when checking in a member of staff said the site was quieter than usual as the previous weeks bad weather and the expected cold weekend had put people off.

Upon arrival you are given instructions on where to go and you can then pick your own pitch, very good size fitted our tent and extension very well, plenty of surrounding areas for the kids to let off steam too.

Facilities although some dated were clean, we used block 2 mainly, plenty of toilets and showers which are all individual which was great, excellent hot showers and although it was the usual button press shower it did last some time before you had to press the button again. Block 1 appeared to be the most outdated and I personally would avoid them as very old and tired looking.

We didn't have to spend much time queuing for the rides, the was plenty to do over the 3 days.

We didn't spend anytime during the evening in the facilities so cannot comment on these, food inside the park was also reasonably priced.

All in all for the price we paid it was very good value, we will definitely visit again but off season

 An excellent site

Friendly staff and no silly rules about pitch size.

We spent four nights there in very wet and windy august and had a great time,

The theme park suited all of our group aged 50, 30, 25 and 3 year old twins, the evening entertainment was good too.

The restaurants on site were ok and reasonable value but the ash field Country Manor just opposite the entrance was superb both in value and quality.

The showers were clean and hot we used block 3. Our only complaint was that the swimming pool was freezing.

All in all an excellent site.

We've just come back from 5 nights at Falmingoland resort and have to say it was a fantastic stay.

Everything on the previous reviews is accurate. I would add the following:

Shower block 3 is the most recently refurbished. It also has the delay on the showers which a previous post commented about the blocks not having so you don't have to keep your hand permanently pressed on the tap.

If your used to the Haven experience, then this is similar, the amusements have nothing for the younger age bracket (2-5) and work around the redeemable ticket idea. The entertainment isn't as polished as Haven, but the couple of shows we saw were perfectly watchable and they do a good job at entertaining the kids. In fact the Take That tribute was excellent. They also have visiting artists which mainly consist of old X factor contestants but we never saw any as our dates didn't hit.

The restaurants were of varying quality & value. Jolly sailor all you can eat pasta & pizza £8-95 including soft drinks wasn't bad, although there was only one pasta, the selection of pizza & salad bar was good though.

The chinese takeaway on the side of the show bar was both great quality and excellent value, in fact they were cheaper than home! The metropolis did great breakfast although a bit pricey, the american diner has a limited menu of hot dogs and burgers which were the same as you could get on the stands outside but twice the price. They also had an Indian restaurant which did all you can eat for £9. 95 but we never tried it.

The cost cutter shop was well stocked and reasonably 'corner shop' priced. I had to giggle at the sign for the milk 50p for a pint or 99p for a litre! someone hasn't done their weights & measures training!

I have to thank a previous post for the recommendation of the pub just outside the resort The Ashfield Country Manor Hotel. This has excellent home cooked food at very reasonable prices. We went on 'pie night' £5. 95 for home made pie chips & peas.

Do have a look at this park, the cost initially may seem expensive but when you roll in unlimited admission to the theme park it doesn't work out too bad at all.

I have to say it was a total winner with the kids who loved every aspect of Flamingoland.

First point to note, you do not make a booking, you just turn up and pay on arrival. The process is simple and works well. Considering the off-season price includes full access to the theme park for the duration of your stay, the price is very good.

Check-in is easy and you get to choose your own pitch. The touring field is huge and flat. All areas served by tarmac roads and the fields drained well and didn't get boggy even though we had torrential rain and storms during our stay.

There are five large toilet blocks each with plenty of cubicles and sinks. The separate shower rooms were very welcome with a large area with bench and hooks for clothes and a separate wet area. Only minor downside was the button had to be pressed to get a water flow - no delay - just on when pressed or off. Very green though :)

I was impressed by the amount of space per pitch. Hard-standing area for the van, space for awning and car and still maybe a meter until the next pitch. Every pitch has hook-up and clean water supply and you need to walk grey and soil water to your nearest toilet block to drain.

Being a large park, security is very good with all vehicles having to show their payment slip, lots of security on on the park and in the club-house and a team of wardens and maintenance with a visible presence.

We visited off-season and the touring park was very quiet maybe 20-vans and tents on a facility made for hundreds. During our stay it was peaceful though a few kids did wake me up one night playing around the toilets in the early hours.

The theme park is superb and huge and does cater to all taste. Me and my older kids lapped up the white-knuckle rides with small queues whilst the wife and toddler loved the kids rides, zoo and train. Ensure you see the East African Bongo Acrobat show - talent peeps indeed.

The evening entertainment was a kids dances, mimed shows with the 'krew' and then quality cabaret from about 9:30pm each night. We saw a Michael Buble tribute who was very good and we've heard the Take-That show is stunning.

The swimming pool is not so near the theme park so is generally quiet - three pools, slide and lots of staff. The adjacent gym is large and well equipped too.

Of course the kids loved the many arcades around so parents, get ready the pound coins ready. The machines pay out vouchers that you can redeem for prizes. Beware that that kids don't understand spending £10 to get 150 vouchers to get a Chuppachup lollipop is not a wise investment but then I'm a grumpy old f*rt :)

The on-site shop is open long hours and is well stocked. The large launderette rescued our week as we had lots of dirty wet clothes after our 'summer' break. Good value too at £3.50 for a wash and £1.50 for a dry.

We ate on-site at the buffet Indian restaurant - not bad but choice of dishes quite small. We also tried the American Diner which had great service and served far too many fries with every meal.

Our best meal was across the road at the Ashfield Country Manor restaurant. A1 service, great prices and home-cooked food to die for. We were there on pie night which doesn't sound exciting - mark my word, try one of their meals for £6 and you will have eaten like a king and will need to tighten your belt. Very family friendly too.

So, a good site to visit for the kids, good value and good facilities. The theme park makes it for the kids. For the adults? Give me a quiet countryside site without arcades any day of the week.

Have just returned after having a brilliant time at flamingo land.

We booked for the weekend(5 of us)and certainly got value for money. All day fri, sat and most of sunday in the theme park as well as using the entertainment on an evening. We especially enjoyed The Time of our Lives show on sat in the American show bar.

The camp it's self is very relaxed with the rules. You can basically stay all day on the day of departure and just leave when you are ready.

The only downside to the weekend was rowdy campers who stayed up drinking well into the early hours without a thought for others.

The campsite is so big that you don't have to book, which is a bonus if you are relying on the weather.

We will be returning again and hopefully will have weather like we have just had!

 Great Site overall.

2 Adults and 2 Teenager boys in Large Tent with Electric Hookup (also included water next to power hookup). Nice flat area for tents close to Toilet/shower block which was in okay condition, showers a bit hot though.

Excellent shop with good variety and prices.

Helpful staff on site, (youngest lost his phone on a ride so they stop the ride to retrieve it!)

Amazing on site rides and zoo, latest rides.

The great weather did help too.

Stayed for four nights and found enough to do without going off site (first for us!)

We decided to try Yorkshire for a change this year - looking at the various campsites along the coast. On searching the internet for days out in the area I came across Flamingoland and found that you could camp there.

A number of my friends have stayed there and recommended it as a great place for kids. We have a 13 year old daughter and 8 year old son. We decided to give it a try. It cost us £364 for 7 nights which included electric hook up and wrist bands for access to the theme park all week. On arrival we reported to the reception, booked in and received wrist bands.

We were then directed to the camping fields. We were met by a nice man who showed us some pitches - he left us to drive around and choose for ourselves. All serviced pitches were hardstanding. It was quite busy too. We were close to one of the four shower blocks. Each block had 8 showers and 8 toilets and a dishwashing area with three sinks. There was plenty of hot water, soap and toilet roll. Not as clean as I would have liked but ok and some of the showers smelt of the drains!

As soon as we were all set up in our new tent we headed straight to the theme park which was only minutes away on foot. On the way we passed a large launderette, a small play area, supermarket, an information centre, two takeaways and a arcade/entertainment area.

The entrance to the theme park had security checking wrist bands. The kids were blown away by the theme park - so excited! Everyday we spent in the theme park from opening to closing time (only downside was it closed at 6pm - we thought it could have been later). Plenty of rides, shows, animals to see.

Loads of food outlets (if the kids like slush puppies I recommend buying the long plastic bone shaped cups and get refills for £1.55 which was much better value for money). At the end of the first day we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips - not a good idea - we ended up standing in a queue for 45 mins - only two people working in there!

The main arcade/evening entertainment had similar layout to other holiday camps - having to go through an arcade to access the club - well you know what that means - money, money, money! Security were on the entrance checking ladies handbags - probably checking that no-one takes their own alcohol on the premises.

We only went into the club one night which was for a fantastic Michael Jackson tribute act 'Jackson Live' - we thoroughly enjoyed it! There are other bars and restaurants within theme park to choose from.

Surprisingly, given how busy it was on the campsite it wasn't noisy at night at all! OK you can hear people returning from the clubs but nothing to complain about.

We did actually manage to talk the kids into leaving the theme park for the day and visited nearby Scarborough. It took about 40 minutes to get there. It is a lovely place - typical seaside town and a great beach. We enjoyed a nice walk along the pier to the lighthouse where there is a seating area to sit and look out to sea!

All in all it was a great week and we were lucky having fantastic weather too.

What can I say?? Fantastic! stayed for 4 nights with my husband and 3 kids, 3, 5, 8, cost 249.00 including entrance fees for the park. Great value for money, we all had a good time,

Plenty of electric hook ups although we didn't use this facility, lots of toilet/shower blocks. On site laundrette which cost 3.50 for a wash load, on site cost cutter, reasonable prices. The american bar does all the entertainment

Warning regarding showers though, water is way too hot for the kids so I recommend you take basin and wash them in tent!

All in all great campsite and will definitely be returning next year if not again this year!

We stayed for 2 nights (fri and sat) the site is lovely, lots to do, great for kids. The staff on arrival were great really helpful and pleasent. We were told the way to to tent area, and there would be someone there to show us where to set up.

The site is really big lots of tents and tourers. Plenty of showers and toilets, which were a big let down for me. We used block number 1 which was the closest to our tent, they were in great need of updating. Very old fashioned and weren't really looked after. I expected a bit more for the 217 pound we paid.

There is a swimming pool which is great for younger children, and 3 play areas. The club was big and lively probably the best toilets on the site.

Canny little shop which wasn't too expensive. A chinese takeaway and a chippy.

The only other thing to mention was it was a bit noisy at night but there where a lot of people.

Overall had a really nice time and the kids loved it.
