July 04 We've been here in the off season and loved it. But we couldn't get away soon enough last week. It's just far to busy for our lot, our children are showered and bedded by 10pm, most of the other children were still running around the site at 11.30 pm. We just couldn't relax at all. What was more surprising was the amount of adults who shoved their kids off to the Theme park at 10am for them - the adults - to spend the day getting tanked up. The staff tried really hard to keep the loos clean, but most days they were pretty awful just a couple of hours after they were cleaned. If you like it loud and lively then this is the place for you, if not, but you fancy it, wait 'til the off season, you'll enjoy it much more.

June 2004 We spent a great weekend here. Campsite is fine - facilities are a bit old fashioned but clean and liked the fact that each shower is a separate locking unit so families can shower together. Be warned though that there are no hand driers or sockets in loo block 2 so no drying your hair there. Our 4 year old loved the pool and the steam room and jacuzzi and small gym were welcome for the grown ups. All in all worth the money as we spent 2 days in the park. Recommend this off peak, not sure what queues would be like in school holidays. Costcutter supermarket on site well stocked and reasonable.

August 2003 We have been to the site previously staying in a static holiday home, however this was our first time camping in the tourers section.
The campsite is large and the pitches are of a good size with additional grass around for the kids to play. We pitched up close to the Ocean Diner and Bar - which in retrospect was not a good idea as there was karaoke on almost every evening until 11pm and it was fairly noisy - so try to get a pitch further away if you can.
The toilets were basic but generally clean, the showers were individual cubicles which locked although the button had to be pressed several times as the clips to keep the button depressed were generally missing.
There was a well stocked shop (they sold cooked chickens in the middle of the afternoon - which was great if you can't be bothered to cook), although some goods were quite expensive (I think it was £0.85 for a tin of beans) - we drove into Malton to use the Safeway instead as much as possible.
It is quite an expensive campsite on first glance - we paid £260 for a week in August - however this includes entry to the theme park for the duration of your stay. We will possibly consider buying an annual pass for next year (about £200 for unlimited use for the whole family - we would only need to visit four times to make it economical), then we would only have to pay pitch prices and not the £54 family entry everytime.
There was loads to do - you could never say that you were bored - with all the rides and rollercoasters, shows and entertainment. You would very rarely need to go off site. Years ago there were hundreds of wasps at Flamingoland but for the past couple of years I have seen a marked reduction - perhaps they are using controlling methods.
Peak season is maybe not the best time to visit as the queues for all of the rides are usually long all day. We have been in June and September/October before and these times are better as you get more rides as you are not queueing all day.
This year has seen a revamp of the American Bar which is now large and spacious and has entertainment on evenings (there are other bars too all offering entertainment although they are not all open all season.)
We will continue to go back to Flamingoland several times a year as it offers fun and entertainment all day and evening.
