Stayed at this caravan club site. It was ok. Seemed to have a problem with the drainage as you put water down the hole and it would appear in a new one around the toilet block, seemed to have a blockage somewhere. The facilities are a little dated but clean. Plenty of space and a little castle for kids to play. Good dog walking area. Site seems to be in a good location for chirk and also Llangollen aquaduct.

Just had 8 glorious, dry and sunny days at this site. Good weather always makes places seem better when camping and caravaning but this site is just great and the weather only a bonus. That said very hard to say something that has not been said before.
Such a lot to see and do; Canal walks, view the Chirk aqueduct and walk over it. Visit to Chirk Castle (£10. 40) per adult at time of writing, no charge if you are in the National Trust. Eating and drinking; well not impressed with either of the pubs in the centre of town, 'The Hand' and another I forget the name of. The 'Bridge' however down the hill on the road to Oswestry has a good pint and excellent food. The butchers opposite the Spar mini supermarket is to write home for and not just beef and lamb but superb home made cakes pies, sauceage rolls etc.
Allin all highly recommended, the site itself is excellent, read the comments of that from others and as others have said before so much to see and do. If Chirk itself is not enough (and it is) as a destination, Llangollen with all it's things to see and do is just down the road ( 6 miles). Unfortunately for Llangollan it doen't have a caravan site worth much in the way of praise. Unlike Chirk :)

This was our second visit to this beautiful campsite set in a wooded part of the Chirk castle estate.
We were greeted by friendly wardens and were booked in quickly and efficiently. We chose a pitch in Primrose Dell amongst the trees and spent our two days enjoying the wildlife on site.
The central toilet/shower block was spotless at all times and never busy even though it was a weekend. Plenty of water points, bins and an under-cover washing up area. Handy little information room too.
The beauty of Chirk, for us, is there is so much to do straight from the site, from Chirk Castle (stunning on a sunny day), the Chirk aqueduct, Llangollen canal and the town itself. Everything you need right on your doorstep.

Visited Lady Margarets Park during a tour of Wales and one of the first Caravan Club sites, this is a lovely site and we were lucky enough to stay when the bluebells were in flower. The wardens were all friendly, the facilities were warm and all working, tv reception was good. Our pitch in Primrose dell was lovely and quiet, with walks into the woods cut directly from the site. Chirk is a friendly town, with the castle and all usual town facilities within walking distance.
Hope to visit again soon.

What a lovely site and for so many reasons.
We stayed in Bluebell Dell. Lots of trees, but no problem with the tv reception. It must look fantastic when the bluebells are out.
As you would expect toilet block is great, and even has a plug to use your own hair dryer!
At the entrance gate is Chirk Castle free to enter the grounds. A lovely walk fairly steep, but my Dad's mobility scooter made it! There is a gift shop and cafe at the top.
5 mins walk from the site is the canal with the 500m tunnel and an aqueduct. You can walk to the Bridge Inn via the tow path about 25 mins or in the other direction Trefor and the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct 3 miles?? Which also has a pub serving nice food.
Within Chirk there is a tea shop, two pubs, a curry house and a small supermarket etc which is a 15 min walk mostly lit and on footpaths other than the hill from the canal to the site.
There is a train station near the canal too.
The Boathouse restaurant at Chirk Marina was nice (not walking distance).
Highly recommended. I look forward to returning.

Visited this site with our daughter and grandaughter in tow, on arrival staff very helpful and friendly. We were sent off to find our own pitch which is always better than being told where to pitch.
The site is very well maintained and in great condition the grounds were beautiful and the staff obviously spend a lot of time tending them.
Lots of forest walks from the site and Chirk Castle just along the road, we were feeling fit and decided to walk as it was a nice day. Chirk Castle is well worth a visit.
The town is a very short walk from the site and has a couple of nice pubs and a few shops.
We only stayed 2 nights and could have quite happily stayed longer, we are usually itching to go somewhere different after 2 nights but would have stayed here and found plenty to do had we been able.
Finally facilities first class as you would expect from a Caravan Club site.

This is a really lovely site and very tranquil, and although we only spent a couple of nights here as they were fully booked, we would definitely return.
Shower block and laundry were great and very central to the site. Wardens were very friendly and the site was nicely kept.
Great location for visiting Llangollen and the Aquaduct.
Only negative is the approach driveway which is full of potholes.

Just returned from a 9 night stay at this lovely site! great spacious pitches with lovely wardens who didn't bother us at all whilst we were there. Pitches are roomy though the adjoining roads around are fairly narrow and reversing could prove an issue into some pitches! The weather was wet and wild whilst we were there but with a dog this didn't stop us getting out and about as you just have to!
Lots of great walks and a visit to Chirk castle is a must as is the walks along the canal! If going at this time of year don't forget your wellies as there is lots of muddy walks to encounter! Lots of rabbits, pheasants and squirrels to entertain the dogs! Fab dog walk for the four legged friends.
Shower block was spotless and a credit to the wardens and very comfortably heated. Secure with barrier entry and exit! Will definitely return

Visited in mid November 2013 in order to watch a stage of the World Rally Championship which was being staged in the grounds of Chirk Castle next door. As we were off watching the rally on both days we did not have time to explore the surrounding area but I was sufficiently tempted to return and will hopefully do so before long for a long weekend.
The site itself was very pleasant, the amenities were very clean and with a good supply of hot water. The wardens were very friendly and helpful without being to fussy.
If approaching from Oswestry the CC directions take you past Chirk and back in. Your Sat Nav will want to take you a more direct route. Either is fine so don't worry too much about the 'official' instruction.
Didn't appear to be too much to do for children, but other than that not much more to say, very nice site to which I fully intend returning to in order to more fully explore the area.

We visited this site for 5 nights over the October half term.
The site is very good, in a very nice location surrounded by trees, there is some noise from the local factory.
The toilet block is spotless, showers excellent with no waiting.
The location is excellent, Chirk has quite a few shops, for larger supermarkets Wrexham and Oswestry are closeby. There are lots of sites nearby, Llangollen is worth a visit and Chirk castle is great.
I would definitely return.
