This was our first ever trip and we are glad we chose this site.

Even though we stayed in February and arrived at about 1pm there were only 5-6 pitches still available of the 100+ but it wasn't a problem as there are no bad pitches on site.

The neighbours were very friendly and helped with the various questions we had.

Once all set-up we took a walk through the woods at the back of the site to Chirk stopping at the Aqueduct, which was very impressive albeit a little too high for my wife, and tunnel (you will need a torch). Chirk has a Spar store which stocks everything you could want.

The site is very quiet at night and the play facilities were enjoyed by our 3 year old.

The shower and washing-up/food prep area's were spotless.

We visited Chirk Castle on our 2nd day which was very impressive and is a must see if staying here.

Overall I was very impressed with the site and hope to visit again in the future.

Please be warned do not arrive before 12.00 am very strict warden. We only just joined the caravan club but the telling off we got was enough to put you off. That aside the site was wonderful, great clean warm toilet block. Lovely walks and great pubs in walking distance. The poachers pocket very good food, also the station inn and the hand hotel good, was told the tandoori is good but didn't get to try it. Will have to go back but not before 12.00

In our party was Mum, Dad, our 2 boys aged 9 & 7 and our dog.

Lady Margaret’s Park Caravan Club Site was booked to provide us with just an overnight stop on our way to south west Wales on a Friday night.

I would recommend strict adherence to the CC map as Sat-Nav will get it wrong.

We arrived with check-in being pleasant and easy but during our stop, the card payment processing device was not working so cash had to be used but cash points are nearby in the town.

Like nearly all CC sites, we picked our own pitch and could set up. We pitched near the dog walk which is really lovely as me and the dog had some lovely walks amongst the Bluebells but there are loads of better and longer dog walks amongst the woods and fields nearby.

The playground offers just enough to keep the kids amused while you’re busy with tea etc. A playing field is next to the vans at the lower end of the site.

As usual and as standard, the shower block was always perfect and spotless even on this very busy weekend.

While on this overnight stop, we walked over the Chirk Aqueduct and although myself and the dog where fine, my wife found the height and narrow supports to hold onto too much and turned back.

Perhaps the only small thing that spoils the site is the noise from the nearby MDF wood factory. Due to the use of the hills, you don't always hear it, but when the wind is from that direction, the vans nearest the storage and dell ends may find it a constant as the factory is a 24 hour operation.

We have just spent 3 nights at this site, it is great. The staff are extremely friendly. Choose your pitch then let the wardens know which you have chosen. Small play area, with additional field for ball games. Barrier system entry / with exit by fob.

The pitch we chose was in Bluebell Dell, with only about 10 pitches and away from the main drive through.

There are water/waste/toilet emptying facility in each of the 2 dells, with I think 2 others in the main area.

The shower block is always clean and has plenty of showers & sink areas with privacy with limitless hot water. There is also an annex which can be used when the shower blocks are being cleaned.

A chip van visits the site, currently on Thursdays.

There is a slight hum from the factory which seemed to work 24/7, but this did not keep us awake, and the smell from the chocolate factory is gorgeous.

Lots to do in the area;

Chirk Castle - a great day out, our 2nd visit and just as good if not better than the 1st.

Llangollen - trip on the steam train 1/2 hour each way with 20 min stop at other end, BOGOF tickets with caravan club membership vouchers.

Pontyscylte aqueduct - very high but a must!

The Chirk aqueduct which we didn't visit until our last day, so didn't have time to walk along.

Woodland walks around the park, canal walks close by.

Cefn aqueduct and country park and lots more.

We will definitely revisit.

Spent two nights on this site, very reasonably priced £28 for two adults & one child.

The site is very well maintained, a good clean toilet block, plenty of bins and drinking\waste water points.

The Showers were free and not time limited, which is a big bonus.

Locally there is a walk to the Chirk Aquaduct and you can return through the canal tunnel (it's 421m in length and very dark, so take a torch).

There is a Supermarket, a few shops and a Tandoori located in Chirk itself.

Chirk Catle grounds backs on to the campsite and is worth a visit.

The only negative was the factory, a blot on the landscape with a constant hum. Although you are sometimes rewarded with the smell of chocolate from the cadburys factory. This is a minor negative and would not put me off returning.

Definitely a good bas to explore the surrounding area, will definitely return.

Visited this site at the end of January.

When we arrived at the site it was covered in snow.

We drove around looking for a pitch but the car got stuck on a icey incline so the pitch chose us, as we had no choice but to role back into it.

The site was up to caravan club standards and for £28 for two nights it was ideal. Clean warm toilets, information room and plenty of water points.

Also a small play area for the kids.

We went for a lovely walk over the aqueduct an stopped at a lovely pub called the Bridge Inn.

On the Sunday had a long walk through the castle grounds.

On our last day the site was covered in 4 inches of snow but the wardens let us leave whenever we were ready. Although they never bothered to put any grit down on the roads making getting off site very worrying.

All in all a great site for a weekend break a few pubs in walking distance. The factory noise other people have mentioned wasn't very noticeable but we where at the far right of the site. Not sure how bad it would be at the other side.

Will be returning in the summer when the castle is open.

This is a lovely site with good pitches, most of level hard standing but there are some grass pitches too. Some are in wooded areas some in the open, be warned if pitching under the trees if it rains, the noise from the drops off the trees in the night can drive you mad, we had to move.

Even though it was a bank holiday the site was quiet and didn't feel crowded.

It has the usual good standard C.C facilities.

As said previous, some good walks from the site to the Castle, to Chirk and through the woods to the viaduct and the aquaduct where you can follow the tow path to the Bridge Inn.

Chirk has a few shops, a Spa, a couple of pubs, cafe, two chip shops and a few others.

It's a nice site in a nice area with plenty to do and central for lots of places to visit.

The castle and nearby Erddig House are well worth a visit.

This was our second visit to this fantastic site. The setting amongst the trees is lovely and the site is beautifully kept. The toilet

Blocks are spotlessly clean and the wardens very friendly. Chirk Castle is worth a visit, we went on foot walking through the gardens up the hill. And there are nice walks along the canal in both directions. This is becoming one of our favourites!

What a delight this site is, from the very beginning it felt very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, they efficiently got us through booking in then we were off to choose our pitch. I really like this about CC sites “You choose your pitch” We found a good spot and set up on grass. There is a mixture of both grass and hard standing here. There are two facility blocks here main and an ancillary one right next to each other.

From previous reviews we followed the tow path along the canal to the Bridge Inn. There is also the walk up to Chirk Castle. Chirk itself is small with only a few shops the Star of this must be the butchers, very nice.

There is a small information cabin near the entrance packed to bursting with information about the local area and with loads of Ideas of where to visit. I really like this site calming pleasant and very picturesque. Well recommended I will certainly return.

What a fantastic site. Enjoyed 2 days here but could of easily spent more. Toilet blocks were spotlessly clean as per usual with the caravan club. We had some lovely walks along the aquaduct towards the pub.
Walked into chirk, not an awful lot there but you can buy the basics. Chirk castle was the highlight for us, being national trust members we had to visit. The gardens are wonderful especially on a lovely sunny day like we had. The views are to die for, apparently you can view 9 different counties from the castle.
The caravan site gets 10 out of 10 from us.
