We came to lady margrets for a weekend frid-sun. It's very clean and tidy the shower block facilities are brilliant constant hot water (not having to push a button every ten seconds was brill). We have 2 young kids age 3 & 6 and we found lots of things to do they particularly loved the viaduct and 421 meter dark tunnel, the play area is good the kids loved it to a castle with slide and ropes etc. You can choose your pitch which is good but did mean driving around looking for one as was quiet full. Have rebooked to come back as we really enjoyed ourselves, loved that it was quiet and not tonnes of screaming kids like some places. Enjoyed a lovely meal at the poachers pub to which is on the canal and great for kids and you can take your dog.

This is our 3rd visit to this caravan club site. It is in a beautiful setting just outside the grounds of Chirk Castle. It has the usual cc standard for all the amenities. The hum from the factory & the smell of chocolate can be a bit irritating/sickly. The walks off site are fantastic, with a choice of river, canal or castle grounds to choose from. We went to the Stanton House Inn on our first night and I have to say we made a hastey retreat. The Bridge Inn is a short walk away along the canal or river and a much better choice - good ale and dog friendly, we also went to the Poacher along the canal and that's OK to. We got chips from the chip shop on our first night- don't bother a rip off £1. 40 for a portion that a child would devour and still want more! I was told by a fellow caravaner that the noodle bar opposite the chippy was good value and good food, didn't try it ourselves. Back to the site - the site itself is lovely, TV reception and internet hit & miss think that's due to all the trees. The site is well worth a visit. We will be back

Stayed at this campsite for a four night stay, sat, sun, mon, tues. We have used this site before and this site is a cracker, the position is stunning pitches are excellent you get to choose your own, the facilities toilet's etc. Are of a very high standard, the surrounding area very nice, you have aquaduct's, castle, woods, and much more interesting places to visit, Llangollen with it's beautiful river is only approx 5 miles away we will be back for sure.

We visited this site, after reading the reviews, as a one night stop off on our way home from Wales. Absolutely lovely! small site, good and plentiful facilities, wooded location, lots of rabbits to keep the JR amused. Great walking close by, along the canal and over the aqueducts, or to Chirk Castle and back along the 'woodland walk'. Chirk is an attractive town. Very friendly site, highly recommended ! We always look for walking close by, as, once parked up we don't want to be driving until the next move, this site is ideal !

Very spacious site with good sized pitches in lovely wooded location just one mile outside Chirk, on the edge of Chirk castle estate. An ideal base for walking and cycling direct from site. Llangollen canal is ½ mile away with towpath walks/bike rides, and the Aquaduct. Valley bottom walks along River Ceirog offering spectacular views of both Aquaduct and the parallel railway Viaduct. Chirk Castle is 1 ½ miles from the site. Chirk has local shops, butchers, bakers and grocers shop plus Spar, and Co-op at outskirts of Chirk.
The site facilities are dated for Caravan Club standards, the three wash up sinks located outside the toilet block under cover. Unusual for the Caravan Club, this is a child friendly site with play area and playing field to actually encourage sports and ball games.
Overall great site and location, friendly wardens, but dated facilities.

Took my new caravan here to try everything out, only hardstanding open due to early season. Excellent weekend, shower blocks lovely and clean and showers hot at any time of day, site really well kept and wardens most helpful at all times. There is a path around the site which takes you down to the canal and over the aquaduct, lovely pubs along the way to eat at or just have a drink. This is my third visit and I will be returning many more times I'm sure. Access really good off main road through Chirk and up the road to Chirk Castle into the site

Finally after two years of trying to get here, we finally made it and spent a lovely weekend at LMP club site. The site, situated right next to the Chirk Castle estate is what we’ve come to expect from a CC site.
The facilities are all the usual – heated toilet / shower block, dish wash, laundry, numerous chemical disposal points with fresh water, motorhome waste point, information room and children’s play area all of which are maintained to the expected high standards by the friendly wardens.
The site itself is split into three sort of camping areas; two wooded dells where the pitches are located in amongst the tress and the main camping area out in the open. We managed to baggsy a pitch in one of the dells – looking forward to going back again in the summer when all the trees are in leaf.
Although there is a dog walk on site, didn’t use it as the site is surrounded by woodlands so plenty of area to walk off site. The site information sheet does warn about noise form the local factories if the wind is in the wrong direction but that, or the sound of trains stopping at the local station never bothered us.
Chick Castle itself is a National Trust property. The grounds in general are open to the public with several permissive footpaths crossing the estate so plenty of walking available. The castle and gardens are also open to the public (check on opening times) subject to an entrance fee although it's free to members.
Chirk itself isn't very big and as we walked through late on a Saturday afternoon, most shops seemed to be closing so can’t comment on places to eat, etc. For a bit of excitement whilst you’re there, have a walk down to the canal and walk across the aqueduct or through the 450yd tunnel (don’t forget your torch). !
Will we return – most definitely.

This is a lovely campsite set in woodland on the edge of Chirk. It has all the facilities you would expect from a CC site and the wardens are very welcoming and helpful.
There are lovely walks from here up to Chirk Castle which has lovely gardens to explore, Offahs Dyke runs close by, Llangollen is a very cheap (£2. 50 day rider) bus ride away and has a Llangollen History Trail to walk, there is the Pontcysyllte aqueduct and Chirk marina an easy walk along the canal from just by the railway station. Also just at the bottom of the campsite is the Chirk Tunnel which is worth doing but take a torch. All in all lots to do if you love walking and exploring the area.
The village itself has a couple of pubs although we did not use them and a Spar and a great vegetable shop. It also has a butchers shop which looks good but again we did not use this.
We were snowed in which was lovely until we came to leave for home! Even with snow tyres on the motorhome would not quite make the top of the small slope from the bottom section of the site but the warden was brilliant and came out to help us dig our way out. He certainly went beyond the call of duty. This site is a must for a revisit perhaps in spring when the bluebells are out.

Beautifully maintained site with attractive, wooded drive leading to it, right by Chirk Castle grounds. Wardens (& assistants) were informative and friendly and kept the site in very good order.
Toilet block had enough toilet/shower and washbasin cubicles to avoid queueing.
A fish and chip stall visited the site one evening a week and a free meal was raffled. Otherwise there are some good shops/restaurants within walking distance.
We had booked the site specifically to visit the Castle. This was a one and half mile walk but it was uphill so be warned! We also walked through the tunnel and would recommend a torch as it was pitch black even in the daytime.
We can thoroughly recommend this site.

What a fantastic little site. Some of the nicest CC wardens we've ever met. They had allocated us a hardstanding pitch due to the previous rain they had suffered and when we were levelling up came to apologise because the pitch wasn't flat. It certainly wasn't a problem for us. The site is separated into different area/sections, all pretty and close to all facilities.
One central toilet block, spotless all the time and never had to queue once. Covered washing-up section and plenty of water points, bins and recycling around the site. Dog walk on site but we didn't use it this time - used the leafy lane outside the site as it was closer to our pitch.
Chirk village is a 10/15 minute wander away and had a Spar, butchers, bakers, pub, hotel, Indian restaurant and other shops in the main street. The Hand Hotel does a CC special menu BUT not on a Sunday (the day we went there!). Chirk Tandoori does a Sunday all day help yourself buffet - highly recommended!
Chirk Castle (National Trust) and grounds are right next to this CC site. You can walk around the grounds for free, but access to the castle and gardens is chargeable. We did the 1. 5 mile walk up to the castle and back - well worth it.
Chirk aqueduct is well worth a visit too. Apparently you can walk through the tunnel to the aqueduct via the site but we chose to bike there (5/10 minutes at the most). It's a stunning place. We also biked along the tow path (in the other direction) to the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Sadly (!) we couldn't cross it on our bikes/trailer. From there we biked to Llangollen (8 miles each way from the site) and had lunch sat outside the tea room on the Wharf. Another lovely thing to do.
As previously mentioned there is a chocolate factory nearby. There was a hum from it but to us it almost sounded like the roar of the sea, which we hear from home so it didn't bother us in the least. Strangely some mornings we woke up to the smell of hot chocolate and wild garlic which I found quite pleasant.
This was our first visit to this wonderful site and it certainly won't be our last. We would highly recommend this site but I'd guess you'd need to book early, especially for weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
