We used this site as a stop over on the way to Scotland.
The site was well kept with large pitches, well spaced and the grass was short so even when it rained it wasn't too much of a problem.
All the facilities were clean and plenty of showers if you didn't mind using a mixed shower block which was actually divided into male and female inside.
A play park which the children loved.
Would use this site again and would recommend it.

Returned from an 8 night stay at the Fishpool which should have been 10 nights, two adults and two children.
Would recommend the site for larger groups rather than individual families. Felt a little bit like festival camping at times.
Pitches are quite large however the space is dependent on how people pitch their units, some do have very large units which they pitch very close to you especially in the middle section, this wasn't just tents it was also caravan's with very large awnings pitched a foot away from our guy ropes.
Both weekends of our visit included large groups of adults and children who had all set up gazebo's 'beer tents' and were sat outside until the early hours with their children racing round. Due to the noise late into the night we decided to cut our 10 night stay short and leave early to ensure some sleep before returning to work. We did inform the owners why we were leaving early, we didn't expect to be recompensed for the 2 nights and the owners didn't offer anything either. I have since noticed others have commented on these reviews about the noise and lack of policing.
During the week the site is better, we were unlucky for 2 nights with loud music until very late and children playing out at 11 o clock, chasing round the tents with torches.
Children are often left to their own devices on the site, the play area is a free for all with very few parents watching their children, we were amazed at 2 & 3 year olds wandering around the site unaccompanied at 10. 20pm chasing the older children, this is despite the site being extremely dark and on a busy road.
The site has one notice on the toilet/washroom door reminding people of the 11 o clock quiet rule however I am not sure many people pay any attention to this and it is not policed in any way.
The site itself is fine, flat pitches, clean washrooms and Washing facilities. Very dry pitches, they didn't hold water even when it rained quite heavily. The showers are a bit of a pain as they are on a very short timer so you have to keep pushing the button every few seconds, we found them fine if you kept your hand on the button. Plenty of hot water.
Shop opens haphazardly so please don't rely on it for milk in a morning. Ok for ice lollies in an afternoon.
Wi-Fi is not free which was a surprise as all other sites we have visited have offered this within the price. The owner wanted to charge £5 for 1 nights use on our last night, this was despite the fact that it had not been available all week and considering we had paid for 10 nights and had informed the owners very early in the week that we would be leaving early due to the noise on the site we declined to take them up on it as we thought it a Little cheeky.
Chippy van on a Friday turns up just after 7pm, people queue for it as soon as it pulls up, this is because lots of families staying on the site are large groups who place big orders therefore anyone left at the end of the queue may find a lot of things are sold out especially the condiments such as gravy and peas. Worth queuing for though as nice not to have to cook.
This was our 7th Camping trip this year, both as a family and with friends so we are used to lots of different sites with different rules and structures, The Fishpool is somewhere we would consider when camping with our larger group of friends due to the lack of policing with the noise.
An idea for a place to visit with Small kids is Stockley Farm at Arley Hall. Interactive day at a farm, Brilliant day out.

We have just returned from a two night stay at Fishpool with our folding camper.
The toilets and shower area on the whole were clean, the play area was great for our two girls. We were pitched quite close and could always see them.
As a previous review has mentioned it was noisy and didn't appear to be policed although there were signs everywhere regarding the 11pm noise limit. We were kept awake until the early hours on both nights.
I would recommend the Fishpool Inn, about 2 mins walk away. The food we had was excellent

We found this site to be very well laid out, plenty of space for our camper and drive away awning.
It was all on grass which was good as well and the pitch was well numbered.
The booking in process was good and efficient.
The site was full and we got the last pitch so was glad to see it was good one.
The hook up was fine, even with some rain the grass didn't get water logged.
On seeing some previous reviews there was some noise on site, but we did not find it to bad.
The most noise we found was from the cockerel and geese on the owners small holding close by.
The toilets and showers were very good with plenty hot water and kept heated as well made a change.
However we had been told the gates got shut at 19. 00 which I thought a bit early, but this was not the case until later.
We will definitely be back to this site when in the area again as this was a nice area with Chester very close by.
If we had more time we would have loved to try the Fishpool in as lots of the people from the site were heading there.

A nice small site with clean, modern toilet facilities.
The reception/shop is minimal selling pop, water and ice pops only.
The only thing bad about this site is the noise late at night. Our tent was next to a family who didn't go to sleep til 5am so it's fair to say we hardly slept.
The pub down the road from the site is very nice and would definitely recommend a visit. We didn't try the food but everything looked good.
Overall a nice site but won't be returning due to the lack of policing with the noise.

Just spent an absolutely great weekend at Fishpool. We had a motorhome, tent and car and yet there was so much space around us. This site is absolutely ideal for families. There is a great play area for the little ones and the wooded area is a wonderful adventure place for bigger kids. The site was spotless and facilities first rate.
Excellent dog walk on site too.
The Fishpool Restaurant and bar is a short stroll from site and is on our list for our next visit.
This was our first ( but definitely not our last ) visit. It has to be said that of all the sites we have been to both here and abroad no-one has been more helpful or welcoming than the owner. Nothing is too much trouble to her and she is sooooo friendly.
Promise to be back soon Joan for another good natter.
Lovely site, lovely people.

Absolute nightmare stay, the campsite was packed and due to the close proximity of pitches we were kept awake until 2 o'clock the first night and after 3 o'clock the second and most definitely our last night here. There are quite clearly signs posted regarding the 11 o'clock quiet time BUT this was not policed in any way.
The stay cost us £22 per night and we managed about 3 hours sleep per night.
The good things about the site are the facilities which were clean, modern and well appointed, the only downside was the 16 second auto off taps on the shower, a bit of a fiddle, but loads of hot water.

Just spent a weekend at Fishpool Farm. This is our second visit and won't be our last. A lovely, well kept site. Check in quick and easy owners are really nice. We were on handstanding pitch which are big, plenty of room for car, caravan, awning and grass area to site out. This is a great site for people with young kids as there plenty of room to run around a small park and football nets, there's also a rope swing in the trees on the dog walk area. You can keep watch on the kids from your caravan and at £22 a night won't break the bank.
Toilets and showers are very clean, showers are push button type but are powerful and lovely and warm.
There is a main road running outside the site which is a bit busy at certain times but to be honest it wasn't really a problem as it hardly like the M6 and does get quieter later on with only the occasional vehicle.
The Fishpool Inn is 100 yds from the site and has been rebuilt with a lot of money being spent. We didn't eat there as it was full, the prices looked expensive. We walked the 10 minutes to the Abbey arms. The food in there was really nice and a lot cheaper.
Chester is 9 miles away and is a good City to Visit.
We had a nice relaxing weekend and it's less than an hour from home. We will be back.

1st visit to this site, found it very clean and owners very friendly and helpful. Facilities were very clean every day.
Great location, easy access to Oulton Park, Chester Delamere Forest and lots more.
Close to very good local pub. Also found village shop do take away breakfasts weekday mornings - very good value.
Only negative comment would be that 1 caravan owner failed to follow the 'dogs should be on a leash at all times' rule.
Will definitely go back

My husband and I visited Fishpool farm caravan site with our 2 children and had a very pleasant stay.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks were clean and modern with plenty of hot water (included in site fee). There was a children's play area which was perfect for our young children and a rope swing in the woodland behind the play area which older children tended to play on. The office stocked a few essentials including fresh eggs. The site in general was well presented, clean and tidy.
The location was perfect for exploring the Delamere Forest. We also visited nearby Beeston Castle.
We would recommend the site to others and would return in the future.
