We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend so it was full but didn't feel too cramped as the pitches were a fairly generous size and laid out in a very orderly manner. We were staying with two other families and had been allocated three adjacent pitches fairly close to the toilet block too which was good as we didn't have too far to run in the rain. The showers/toilets were very clean and new looking and there was always warm water, the showers may actually have been a bit too warm for our kids.
It was absolutely pouring with rain when we arrived but there's not much anyone can do about that! There was a fair amount of rain over the weekend but the ground didn't get at all muddy or squelchy so they must have very good drainage.
A fish & chip van comes on Friday nights and a pizza van on Saturdays which were much appreciated. I had a slight issue with the opening times of the office/shop as there was a sign saying they were open 8. 30-12 then 2-6 but this didn't seem to be the case. We had put our freezer blocks in the office freezer but the door was locked at 5. 15pm when I wanted to get them back out. I then relied on getting milk from them for breakfast (as I couldn't get the freezer blocks out to keep milk cold overnight) but the wardens didn't turn up until 10. 30am so we were a bit scuppered. I think in future I'll have to invest in an electric cool box instead of relying on campsite shops.
We felt confident letting the children explore the site without too much worry, although we were pitched fairly near the entrance gate which was open straight onto the road so had to keep an eye on them with that. The kids really enjoyed the playground and adjacent forest with rope swing.
There was also lots to do in the surrounding area, we went to Delamere forest which was great and also Tatton Park, which everybody enjoyed. There was a nice little soft play place quite nearby for when the weather wasn't so good. There's a pub next to the site which is still undergoing renovation and another one about 10 mins walk away.
Overall we had a lovely weekend here and I would happily recommend the site to others.

Another great stay at Fishpool. One of our very favourite sites.
Everything is immaculate. Friendly staff, the facilities are clean and fresh, the whole area is beautifully maintained.
Our grandchildren love to disappear into the woods at top and play on the tree swings.
This is the second year we have been and had an even better pitch this year (some road noise on one side of the field).
Look forward to returning, hope the Fishpool Inn will have reopened, we missed our visit there this time.

Just returned home from a week at Fishpool farm our 2nd visit and again we were made very welcome on arrival, we were shown to our pitch by the owners.
The showers and toilets, pot washing facilities, the laundry room were immaculate. The grounds are very well kept, grass cut often.
We are going back for 3rd time at the end of august.
There is a mobile fish and chip man on a Friday evening, they were lovely. There is also an ice cream lady on a Saturday evening.
There is a small shop on site. There is also a small store half a mile away. Children's playarea which is brill.
Another local attraction is oulton park which is 5 mins drive for the car or motorcycle followers.

Our third visit to this lovely small site. Within walking distance of the forest and stumbling distance of a pub( currently under renovation due to reopen soon) and walking distance of another pub! The site is flat in the main with some hard standing a play area for children and a walking area for dogs.
Staff are friendly and the toilets and showers are superb. In fact I have never found a cleaner block, they are immaculate.
The only downside is this site is on a fairly main road, however that said we think it's a great site for a walk in the forest a few drinks and a stumble home.

Just come back from spending 5 nights at Fishpool. Apart from the weather which is beyond anyones control, we had a really nice stay. Prior to booking the site, as usual we consulted UKCampsite.co.uk to get some feedback and we were a little worried about previous comments about problems with hot water at this site. I have to say we experienced no such problems ( showers possibly a little too hot at times. ) but we never visited the toilet block once to find the water was cold. Having spoke with owner the plumbing was fixed prior to our visit and the problem solved.
Now about the site in general; Firstly its very flat and there are a mixture of hard standing and grass pitches with generous space for an awning and to park your vehicle. Even though it poured with rain all week it was never muddy and that was obviously down to effective underground drainage of the site.
There is one building as you pull into the site which houses the reception and shower /toilet facilities. These really are spot on. When you consider this is a small site with approx 50 caravan pitches, the shower block contains a ladies and gents section with showers and loos + a further section containing more ladies and mens toilets and showers, so if one is busy you can always use the other.
There is also a separate disabled loo and wet room ( Possibly 2 ? ) Never found a queue to wait in either and the site was very busy. The toilets where exceptionally clean !
There is also a small children's play area and plenty of places for them to play. The site owners were very friendly and helpful. Without a doubt we will return to this site again ( Hopefully when the sun shines )

Just spent the Jubilee weekend at this site and, despite the rain, we had a great weekend.
We went in a group of two and were pitched together as requested. The children loved the play area and in particular the rope swing. The site is very flat and the drainage is excellent as even though it rained for over 24 hours, there was not a puddle in site.
The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. A free buffet with alcoholic drinks was provided free of charge on the Sat night to mark the Jubilee which was a nice touch.
The toilets/shower block is the cleanest we have experienced on a campsite. No problems with the showers in the main ladies. However, one member of our group used the showers in the smaller ladies block and the water was so hot it was only just bearable. This was the case with the basins in both ladies.
We visited Blakemere on the rainy day, and took our bikes into the forest one day. We walked upto the Abbey Arms pub a couple of times (15 mins max walking time and that's with young children). That was a nice pub with reasonably priced food.
All in a all a good weekend, and would definitely visit again.

Me and my family spent last weekend here and have to say this is a fantastic site.
We were met by a very pleasant friendly member of staff that showed us where our pitch was.
The pitches are of a good size and all come with 240 hook up, the toilet block and washing facilities were very clean and modern we had no problems with the water it was nice and warm in fact I have stayed in hotels with lesser standards.
There is a dedicated picnic area and a play area for the kids.
There was an ice cream van that visited( the weather was scorching)and Saturday night fresh fish and chips were on offer.
I will definitely be returning. Big thumbs up for this place !

Spent the Bank Holiday Weekend here with two other families. The owner was excellent and we were allocated pitches together. We were also able to pitch our gazebo at no extra charge which is practically unheard of nowadays.
The pitches themselves are a very generous size, we had 3 large family-sized tents and we had plenty of space.
The site is excellently maintained, the children's play area and football area are great, but our kids loved the rope swings in the trees the most.
Just to echo what other reviews have said regarding the shower/toilet blocks: We never had hot water at any point during the 3 night stay. We used kettle-boiled water to wash our dishes in the gazebo. The men and children never showered for 3 nights and the women had (very) cold showers, which doesn't set you up well for the day!
Besides the lack of hot water, the shower blocks were pristine clean and well lit. There does need to be a sign to the Mens' toilets I think as this is past the reception and a lot of men didn't know it was there until after about a day on the site!
Delamere Forest is great for a walkabout to wear the kids out, the Go Ape centre is not far from the campsite. We also visited Cheshire Ice Cream Farm which was great for the kids too.
We had a lovely meal at the Alvanley Arms (Cotebrook)- this is an excellent pub. Children welcome and service was top-notch. They were able to accommodate our party of 8 adults & 9 children at short notice. I can't recommend this pub highly enough.

Just returned from a brilliant (if chilly at night) weekend at this lovely site - 4 adults in 2 tents, with 2 dogs.
Excellent little dog walk at back of site, first class facilities, wash rooms / toilets pristine and bright.
We had no problems with the hot water system, for washing, showering or pot washing.
We had a sunny Saturday and visited Beeston castle, and called at the Dairy Ice cream farm - which I think would be a brilliant day for those with a young family.
Would recommend the area, and this site.

Spent the holiday weekend here. The site was clean and tidy plenty of space between units,
Perhaps a sign overviewing the road would be better, as it is easy to pass before you realise you have. Centrally situated, but you do require transport of some type to get to nearest places, ie shops etc.
Site is flat and level, we only found one big draw back, which the owners are well aware of, but do not appear in a rush to correct. The plumbing in the toilets is certainly not of a good standard, whilst the facilities are clean, the water supply is either boiling hot or freezing cold. The showers are the push button kind, I think the problem is as there is only one premixed pipe to the shower, you have no choice in water temperature (when hot water is available) The site was full and you were lucky to get hot water, when you did, it could scald a child very easily, but most of the time it was freezing cold, (no good for us oldies), Perhaps this rectifies itself when the site is not at full capacity, I do hope so as this could put a lot of people off returning, and as I said previously, its not a bad site otherwise. PS Fish and Chip van on site on Fridays, and although a bit pricey not that bad.
