We visited buttyland in aug, what a nice reception on arriving, very warm and friendly and could tell that we had chosen the right campsite to stay at. The toilet block and shower block was always spotless, the children enjoyed the games room and kept them quite for hours, people were friendly.
We particularly enjoyed the shack where we could sit and go for a drink or something to eat and even to play pool.We didn't need to go anywhere else at all, all staff were really helpful and friendly
shops nearby and a lovely beach, couldn't have asked for a better place to go to except for the weather, good old welsh weather, but will certainly return year after year.

Spent a week here at easter, location was great, not too close to town, no bar or club here which was great!
The pitches were flat and there is a big playing field for the kids. Facilities were ok a little basic. Please be aware of the showers, they are lethal! They are push button showers, but they the scalding hot water comes out first, do not let your kids go in the showers without you or they may get burnt!
We loved the area, and would return to the area but not to this campsite unless we knew they had updated their facilities and replaced their shower system. Its a shame because it could be a fantastic place.

Just got back from a week at site. Beautiful location, owners very friendly and helpful. First part of week was very peaceful then bank holiday arrived! there was a group that were really noisy across the field, music blaring from mid afternoon. Asked the owners to talk to them, which they did several times. We complained again, and in the end, the owners gave the group an asbo, asked them for deposit against bad behaviour! they soon settled down!
In a week I had two hot showers, one in a solar shower outside our tent. The showers were cold 90% of the day. Too many people there was the problem apparently, but again Monday night when the campsite was a ghost town they were still cold!
We loved our pitches as we were on the field with the football pitch which meant there was a lot of open space around us. We were a group of families together and the owners were great in saving our area for the days before the other families were due. We had a lovely walk to the beach for a BBQ, handy shop up the road, 3 mins in the car, and the chips from the surf shack went down well!
Very good location too!

After reading your reviews decided to give the site a visit mainly due to the location.
Its a very friendly site (many thanks to Lynn especially who got our internet working and whom never seems to stop working).
The facilities are basic but more than often clean. There is only one sink in the toilets but about four in the showers. I actually prefer cleaning my teeth in the shower block and not next to the toilets :). The showers are cool at busy times (ladies only) but ask some regulars and you will find the best times to visit. Usually early morning, late night or after they've been shut for cleaning at 2ish.
Site relatively dry after rain (plenty of experience there) and level pitches. Dog friendly but no definite walk area. Plenty of space for ball games.
Main problem for us was things to do in bad weather. Most attractions needed dry weather. As we have a dog, the wildlife parks etc were out.
Saying that manorbier, freshwater east and some ofTenby beaches were excellent for dogs.
I wish the owners of this site well, some good memories :)

We visited the site at the start of August, it was the only site in the area that had space with an electric hook up, the owners were lovely really helpful and friendly. The weather was great. Every day at the beach.
It was very cheap compared to some sites we have stayed on and I think that it reflected on the site. It was a very nice site plenty of room for the kids to play football and make friends, but there are some down points to the site which I think people should maybe consider.
It would be nice if there was a children's playground.
The shower block was not the best and the toilets I know were cleaned everyday because we saw them doing it, as for the showers everytime I went they were cold.
I noticed that back last year someone left a review saying about the electric tripping if you have more than a fridge on and the reply to that from the site that it has been upgraded, but to be honest our electric was tripping all the time so I don't see how that as changed.
Over all the site was cheap and cheerful

I have mixed feeling about this site. The welcome at reception is really nice. The rules about keeping the noise down are explained - no music after 10pm, no noise after 12. I was given a pick of 3 electric hook up points. All seemed very cramped together. I have tunnel tent and was told I had to put the tent length ways, which meant the view from our tent was the side of a caravan.
It seems in all sites that have electric, pitches are closely spaced together. I may stop booking electric hooks ups from now on because I like to pick a remote, quiet part of the site.
There is a hut which is the shop/reception and bar. Everything seemed cheap and they sell basics such as bread milk and butter. They also do bar meals, breakfast and there is a chip shop on site.
The children's games room is a portable cabin with 5 things in.
The toilets were basic and had toilet paper on the floors and 1 sink for 5 toilets.
The showers are on the other side of the building. 3 ladies showers. The showers were freezing and were outdated. There is a sign on the showers that says at busy periods the hot water can run out. There are 2 power points so you can use hair straighteners and hair dryer.
There is no park.
Only 2 sinks to wash dishes but they do have a freezing and fridge you can put things in.
Although the train station is only 10mins walk, this is down a single track lane and is probably too unsafe to walk too.
Unfortunately we had to leave early as a large group were so noisy and they were next to our tent. They were in a 4 tent group with about 20 people in total. They had music on all day really loud and this continued until 12.30. In addition to that the noise from 20 people was unbearable. They woke up at 6am, and the music started again at 7. I asked them to turn is down at 8am, but the music was back on again at 8.45.
The staff were nice enough when I complained about the noise, but said when there are so many people there will be noise. Maybe they could have explained about the large group before I selected my pitch.
Postive points are
Flat pitches
4 miles from Tenby
Friendly staff
Cheap bar and shop
Negatives points
No Park Cold Showers
Showers and toilets need upgrading
Only 2 washing up sinks
I don't mind basic camp sites as long as you have hot showers and they are clean. There are not enough facilities for the camp site. And cold showers are not acceptable.

I first visited this site as a child over 20 years ago and little has changed in that time. Good location near to Manorbier with railway line at end of site allowing travel into Tenby, but trains were every 2 hours. Site had a section of hook ups which was quite crowded despite the rest of the field being big. Staff very friendly and helpful. Main complaint was the litter left on the site. For the 5 nights we were there litter was left around the water tap and despite two staff fixing a leak at the tap the litter remained. Toilets are dated and could be cleaner, whilst showers were okay. The ongoing complaint (see previous reviews) of no shelves in shower area has been addressed with a second hand bookshelf put in mens shower opposite side of the room from the sinks. On site cafe and chip van

We visited Buttyland during the half term holidays the first week of June (in fact, we're still here, I'm typing this on my laptop on the site). The location is lovely, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a short drive from the beach. The train station is close by and links to Tenby, Swansea and Pembroke. Right across the road from the campsite is a garden centre where a decent all day breakfast is served.
We have bee really blessed with the weather this week; I can recommend the beach at Freshwater East just a few miles up the coast towards Pembroke.
The facilities at the campsite are fine. The toilets and showers are basic, but clean. The ladies' facilities seem to have had some upgrading work recently and there were signs of ongoing improvement around the site. My only criticism was the lack of hot water in the mornings and some evenings too. A family bathroom would be a useful addition.

Visited the site in sept after quite a wet summer, so I wasn't expecting nice conditions! but I needn't have worried. The place was lovely and dry, it helped that the weather was warm to!
Had a fab stay, spent 4 days there and made friends with some other holidaymakers, and we all joined up in the local pub, great way to break the ice
Tenby town was just a short train ride away, (the station is just at the bottom of the field I was staying in),
Great facilities at the site which seem to improve every time I go, hot showers and clean toilets with plenty of loo paper, what more do you need!
Theres a great garden centre opposite which serves a wicked brekkie, and the village pub is homely and welcoming,
If I have 1 complaint? its there's no shelf in the toilet block. To put your toilet bag
But all in all its a great site and 1 I wholeheartedly recommend

Just returned home from our clubs two week holiday rally, I was the rally officer for our two week stay on Buttyland and from arrival to departure you could not wish for better hosts, Nothing was too much trouble for them to the point that they would drop what they were doing to help you, We had a great two weeks holiday in a lovely location.
It's a smashing site with a bus stop at one end of the lane and a train station at the other both with a 100yrds or so, The garden centre situated opposite is well worth a visit and the cafe does fantastic food, with that and the chip van situated at the campsite entrance we were well feed and only lit the bbq twice!
Our two kids loved it, Football goalposts in a large open area, games room with pool table and arcade machines and a grabber machine that must need refilling now as most of the soft toys in it are now back home with us :-)
The on site WIFI provided good coverage and was really handy for surfing from the comfort of our caravan.
We will be going back, Loved it - Paul, Joanne, Liam & Katie
