Fantastic site. We stayed in the sheltered tent field and found it to be of ample space.
Toilets were very clean and regularly cleaned.
Staff were very helpful kind and approachable.
Even though we were there over the bank holiday weekend it was quiet and the majority of people abided by the no noise after 2300hrs rule.
There are walks to do and the fox hill pub is a must.
Good base to start of from.
Try the hole shot café very good and so are the prices. We will definitely be going again.

A fantastic site, clean, friendly and very well maintained. The play ground is adequate for children. There's a great amount of space per tent. The bathroom facilities were great and always clean. The washing up area again was clean had very hot water all the time, a rarity we find!
Also a board detailing the goings on in the area, we'd already planned our time but would refer to it next time.
The only criticism - there's no hair drying facilities for the younger ones.
A really good site generally.

Fantastic site - stayed in May 2013 for three nights and then again for two nights in July 2013.
First time (may 13) stayed with my partner and two children in our tent. Loved it so much I recommended to another four families and we all stayed there for two nights in June 13. We had some day visitors that weekend too whom have never camped before. Now booked for end Aug 13 - 8 families in total and can't wait (2 adults and 2 children per tent).
Fantastic facilities (although at the time only 3 showers - but never had to wait). Nice touch was music playing in the toilets!
Great new park for the kids. Huge pitches/space per tent. Each pitch has own fire pit and I liked that you get benches allocated too. Fantastic pub with great food in walking distance.
And dogs allowed too. !
Probably one off the best sites I have stayed on.

I spent two nights at Steadings Park with my two boys, aged 8 & 4. It was our first camping experience together and I had chosen the site for its child friendly features and location. The site more than met my expectations. From our warm welcome by owner Debbie we were made to feel at home straight away, even as novice campers. Firewood and a fire pit were delivered to our pitch, complete with kindling and firefighters, every little detail was thought of. The wash facilities were immaculate at all times of the day, with plenty of hot water. The new family bathrooms will make it even better, shame we missed them by one day! The play areas were perfect for my children, one close to our pitch so they could play near our tent and the other on the open field, with plenty of room for football and frisbee! Newbourne Springs nature reserve at the back of the site is great for exploring and there is so much to do in the area. We visited Rendlesham Forest, Aldeburgh and Woodbridge.

Just returned from a 6 night camping break and please to report the site was lovely. Friendly owners and wardens, quiet at night. Good location for Ipswich, Felixstowe and Southwold. Great footpaths for walking dogs to the Maybush and Fox Inn. Only negative was only two showers currently, however there appears to be some new additionally which look close to completion.
We will be returning next year.

Just returned home from a lovely weekend at Steadings Park. Firstly the only negative. Currently only 2 male and 2 female showers, which meant a wait both morning. That saying the shower/ toilet block was immaculate, with loads of hot water! All new, clean with plentiful toilet paper and hand soap. It looks like 2 new family shower units are virtually finished so this will help at peak times. Free to use freezer and fridge.
The whole site was clan and tidy, but what I think makes this site so nice is the staff. The wardens are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble, and the 11 pm walk round to check every one is ok ( and quite) is a great touch.
The Fox pub is a 10 mins walk through the woods and well with a visit.
Will definitely be returning

We have just returned from our stay at Steadings Park and I had to write a review. Quite simply; first class.
The welcome from the Wardens and Owners was excellent, clear explanation of the site facilities, layout and advice on how to get about.
The pitch was really big, level and had plenty of room for the tent and car parking. EHU was available and easily set up. The on-site extension leads were really long and there was no problem getting power to the tent.
We stayed on the Valley View area overlooking the Newbourne Springs nature reserve and the fire pit and picnic bench were excellent additions. Toasting marshmallows of an evening and watching the flames of the fire was so relaxing as the Sun set over the nature reserve. The fact that you can easily BBQ at this site is great, so many other sites operate a no-BBQ policy and with great weather you can't beat sitting outside.
First impressions were what a friendly site this is; the playground areas catered for both my daughters (10&8 years) each meeting new friends and immediately 'at home' in their surroundings. Other campers were friendly and let you know the local knowledge and 'things to do'. So many Campers return here and I can see why.
The toilet block was always clean and given how busy the site was, we never had a problem with queues. The showers were excellent and had loads of hot water, no matter what time of day you used them. The washing-up area was great with loads of piping hot water and easily accessed.
The Shop on-site was ideal for everything you'd forgotten, ice-cream and an ice-cold beer or cider. Prices were very good.
The Fox Inn was a great find, being a short walk through the nature reserve. It's a great situation with excellent food, good range of Children's menus at £5. 95 and mains from £9-£13. Beer was lovely and my pint of Adnams was fantastic. The Beer garden was a lovely setting.
Things-to-do locally are many from Orford and Framlingham Castles, Saxtead Green Mill and the lovely town of Woodbridge. Bawdsey, Old Felixstowe and Landguard Fort are in easy reach. My girls loved their treat at Beacon Rally Karts. Jimmy's Farm is a great day out and the sausages are fantastic.
We're looking forward to our next visit!

This is a nice site. Tiny park with one swing but adequate. Nice surroundings and walks. Toilet/showers are decent and that is why I chose this site based on previous reviews. Stayed in main field which was good. The back field is a nice location with views so we would consider this. The sheltered field which we nearly chose was small so we are glad we did not stay in this field as it is pretty cosy with 8 tents in and does not have much field for kids to play without disrupting others. The night time noise curfew was great especially having young kids.

Fantastic site. Spent weekend with family and friends in the secluded tent field. Welcome from wardens was fantastic and could not of been more friendlier and helpful. Pitches were large and level and kept immaculately clean and rubbish free. The facilities were great and modern, showers wonderful always hot and shower heads removable so great for the wee ones but only two in each male and female but this was not an issue as was never busy even thou the site was full. Always clean and plenty of loo roll as wardens always there. The music playing in the shower blocks was a good touch too. Fridge freezer was handy to keep those all important beers cold, wash up area basic but does the job.
Play park was fairly new, clean and tidy and kids loved it but again this was basic with swings and slide. The on site shop was basic but supermarket on five min drive away and the local pub is only ten min walk too, did not visit but drove past and I am planning on going back again to sample the pub as looked gorgeous from the outside and have only heard wonderful things about it the local area was also beautiful and rural but within close proximaty to major town and others facilities.
Overall a fantastic site that is well looked after. The wardens and owners were great and attentive, site extremely clean and looked after and pitches well situated. If camping in tent I definitely recommend the secluded tent field which only has 8 pitches but is quiet and very close to kids park which is opposite entrance to the pitches and shower block is closer to these pitches then any of the others. The rest of my family and friends loved this site and we are already planning next visit. Definite recommendation for any camper.

Second visit to this lovely campsite during half term week on adjacent pitch to my parents in their caravan. Very pleased to see that the excellent customer service, cleanliness and atmosphere at this site was just as high as my first visit last year. Lovely walks through the neighbouring nature reserve. Plenty of space to play on the lower field. Tesco and M&S food store short car drive away. 10pin bowling and kids indoor play centre also close for a wet day activity. Small shop for milk & basics on site. Laundry & free use of fridge freezer. Showers are free with hot water. The owners & wardens were frequently checking loo roll & tidying round the shower/ toilet block so despite the site being full the facilities were always clean, tidy & well stocked. Step stools provided for little ones to reach the taps/ sinks. This is a great site & ideally located for lots of Suffolk days out, I am sure I will return again!
