Beautiful well kept clean site on the outskirts of Newbury. Easy access from the A34 and great value for money. 30 pitches, 16 amp electric. Some grass and some gravel pitches: Plenty of room for tents too. 2 ladies and 2 gents Clean showers with plenty of hot water (Hair dryer 20p) & toilet, laundry & recycling facilities & washups. Plenty of places to walk dogs close by in 'Penwood'. Close to Highclere Castle (the home of 'Downton Abbey'), 5 mins drive from Newbury. Ideally situation for Newbury Race course. Tennis court available (bring your own rackets/balls). Plenty of places to eat in Newbury and ' The Woodpecker Pub' is within easy walking distance

Visited here September 2016 whilst on route for 2 days 'Green Laning' around Wiltshire and Salisbury Plain, with our Land Rover Defender 110 fitted with roof top tent and side awning. Weather was overcast with overnight rain. The site is tucked away off the side of the very busy and at times noisy A34, but once you get use to the background drown it's not a problem. Pitches for camping are good solid grass and of a fair size to allow privacy to be maintained. The facilities are good quality and cleaned regularly. My only criticism would be there are no chairs / stools for getting changed when using the showers where outdoor footwear has to be removed before entering the cubicles. On exit I had to use my towel has a bath mat to put my shoes and socks back on and keep my feet dry and clean.
Needless to say we also used the site again on our route east and onward adventures. Would highly recommend and use the site again. Especially convenient for route between the north and channel ports at Portsmouth or Poole.

Stayed just the one night as broke journey up.
Nice gentleman at reception who gave us plenty of do's and don't's. He then showed us to our pitch which was set in a pleasant area.
Very handy for Newbury and some nice walks very close by.
The site does what it says on the tin! Definitely would have no problem staying at Oakley Farm again.

This is a cracking little site. Not overburdened with amenities, but the low price buys you a beautiful situation and meticulously kept surroundings.
Some reviews are critical of the shower block but I found it perfectly adequate, and I was pleased that unlike most sites it wasn't closed for cleaning at the time most people would be inclined to use it.
Mick castes a wary eye and his discrete team ( give or take the odd lawnmower) keep the place neat and manicured.
The pitches are well spaced and each has its own neat lawn to the side.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this site and look forward to staying again.

Great little site very quite, and mick was very friendly and helpful, dog frienfly which is even better.
Washing up area, toilets and showers all clean and tidy
Nice local pub just up the road and newbury itself is a short 5 min drive away
Only fown side is dogs are not allowed to be walk around the site. Not a major problem as the are plenty of lovely walks all within a 10 min drive from site

Spent an enjoyable 3 nights on this site. As others have previously said the toilet/shower block could do with modernising but they were clean which is the main thing. Although we could hear the A34 nearby it wasn't a problem. There is a lovely pub up the road, within walking distance, The Woodpecker. Our only niggle was that we felt Mick was a little too quick at coming over to check when we had visitors on our last day.

We wanted somewhere close to the Air show we were going to and found this place it is a wonderful quite place everyone is so friendly and the place is clean and tidy and so cheap to stay. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and family. This is NOT a five star site but you get what you pay for. We will be staying here again.

Stopped for one night on the way home from picking up van having had motor mover fitted. Good to find a site which took 1 night stop at a weekend. Booked in advance and met on arrival & taken to the pitch. (Didn't go for electric). Site didn't seem crowded at all on the field I was in. Wash rooms perfectly adequate & seemed clean. Some noise from the A34 a couple of fields away but it didn't keep me awake. Would definitely recommend & hope to return. Good value for money.

Overall not a bad campsite (and good pub half a mile away - The Woodpecker) BUT they claim it is a quiet site. IT IS NOT. We had large family groups each side of us, 4 or 5 tents together, very noisy during the day - having water fights or playing football with ball often hitting our unit and neighbour's tent. Also in the evening kids running through the back of our pitches and tripping over guys ropes - could have caused damage but luckily didn't.
Showers & Toilets adequate, but could be serviced better.
Overall site eeds more supervision -particularly during the day.

Booked into this site for a visit to High Clere House. What a gem! Very quiet, friendly warden Mick was very helpful. We stayed 3 nights on this lovely site, very near to High Clere House. Facilities were dated but spotless, would stay here again. Well placed for a visit to Winchester. We have a large touring caravan which presented no problem on the site. There were 3 adults in our party no children that's why I have rated the child friendliness 5 out of ten as the site would appeal to children that can amuse themselves there is no playground, which was great for us!
