The owners here are very friendly and you are not overfaced with the usual barrage of rules.
It is well run, has clean facilities, flat pitches, is sensibly priced, and has a pond for fishing. (This does need more spaces around it though, as there was only one which gets busy)
There are lovely walks opposite, and it is well placed to visit Sudbury, Lavenham and Colchester.
It is a great site for a short Suffolk break in pretty countryside

A nice quiet little site. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would camp there again, however, there were a few negatives.
Although our young kids liked the site and made some friends, there is very little to keep them entertained.
Also, there were no power points in the Ladies for a hairdryer, which would be a useful addition.

This could be a lovely site, however we were left very disappointed. When we arrived we were shown to our pitch and I couldn't believe how small it was. Our medium size 5 man tent would only fit on by overlapping the guy ropes with the tent next door. There was a caravan on the other side, and once their car arrived back we felt really squashed in between a tent and a car. Our car didn't fit to the side of the tent but had to go in front of the tent.
To put this into perspective, when I was trying to get to sleep I realised that I was lying far closer to the people in the next tent than I was to my children in my own tent! Unfortunately they were quite noisy at night, and as they had a very young child with them there was a lot of noise very early.
It is such a shame that we were told we had to pitch there as there were some lovely spacious pitches available where there would have been room for us. We were so close to the family in the next door tent that we were almost sitting with them outside the tent. There was also a dog running loose constantly that actually came into our tent on two occasions.
We had booked for two nights but for the first time ever we left after one night. I had assumed that the owners would have made the effort to be in touch to find out why we had left early, but I've heard nothing from them.

Lovely little campsite. Pitches a bit small but other than that, really good.
Toilets and shower block had lots of sanistiser, anti-bac wipes in every toilet and anti-bac hand wash so couldn't be any more prepared.
Lovely cycle route along to Long Melford and a few little pubs along the main road to visit all within walking distance.
We will definitely return!

Attractive site with large pond. Lovely big shower cubicles very new and clean. We cycled easily into Sudbury. Maybe it was because it rained a bit but Sudbury didn't appeal to me that much.
The Gainsborough Museum was closed (due to Coronavirus) which was disappointing. We ate at the nearby Kings Head which was good.
Second day we took the campervan to Cavendish which was 8. 5 miles away. The van is 6 metres long and we were able to park it ok by the village green.
We did a 6 mile circular walk to Clare another nice little town. Very pleasant walk. Stopped for lunch at Calre Cottage.

A lovely quiet site, the owners find you in their golf cart to give you a quick introduction then leave you to it. We chose a nice place away from the toilets but realised after the wifi was not working in that part.
Would go back again for sure. Our only dislike was there are no basins inside the toilet cubicles so have to walk to the shower to wash hands. A hand wash was in the cubicle but it was greasy & not great. We used hand sanitiser after using the facilities just to be safe.
We loved the country park just over the road and the Lakes a short drive away are worth a visit for bird & insect lovers.

Just had a fabulous relaxed weekend here at Willowmere.
First time out camping With friends after lockdown.
The site is level, clean and tidy with a spotless toilet and shower block.
Will definitely be back.

Nice friendly and very well maintained site, level grass piches and immaculate toilet block with social distancing sensibly in place but not over the top.
Good little lake which was great to introduce my 9 yr old son to fishing - he caught 3 nice fish in an hour.
River a short walk, pubs nearby and shops a few min drive in Sudbury.
All in all a great little one night break, thanks.

I stayed here while visiting my granddaughter in Sudbury. As a mature solo camper I was made very welcome and was well looked after.
Everything has already been said. This is an excellent small site.
There are some lovely walks in the meadows by the river round Sudbury and excellent places to eat.
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Kentwell and The Gainsborough House.
