Recommended. We can vouch for all the previous positive recommendations. Owner is a laid back type of guy who leaves you to select your preferred pitch. Pitches are of a good size and level. Satellite and freeview reception are good. It is a short cycle ride into Sudbury which is a nice place to visit. The site is in a good location for cycling. If you decide to use the public footpath and cross the train line, take a torch if doing so in the evening

What a little gem of a site, we really enjoyed our stay here.
A lovely level, nicely laid out, well kept site with trees surrounding it and sensibly priced.
Toilet block and showers were spotless, a delight to use, plenty of hot water, always immaculate, plenty of loo roll and soap and what a delight that they trust you to turn showers on and off rather than those push button timers that you get elsewhere! Two sinks provided for washing up, again always clean and tidy. The only thing we would have liked extra was a facility for re-freezing ice blocks, there may well have been one elsewhere but we didn't find it and didn't ask!
The owners were quite happy for us to leave our car all packed up on Sunday whilst we went out for the day, indeed when I had made the booking they had said there was no rush to get off site which is always a really nice bonus when only going for a weekend.
There was a lovely peacefulness and tranquillity about the site, just a low hubbub of voices chatting over a barbecue. We really liked the size of the site and it was in a very nice area ideal for getting out and about on our bikes and walking which is what we spent most of the weekend doing.
We visited the pub in Assington for lunch on Saturday, highly recommended, excellent value. And we also popped into the Henney Swan on Sunday afternoon for a drink, would like to eat there next time.
We will definitely add this to our list of preferred sites, it was exactly what we wanted. Thank you very much

What a lovely site this is. A nice big flat field with hedges all round to provide shelter. The facilities are excellent, large shower rooms with hot and cold taps and no push buttons, which is great. Owners are very helpful and friendly. Lots of ducks on site and the occasional visiting geese but they were no problem. Sudbury is only 2 minutes drive away and has lots of free parking.
A nice area to visit and one we shall be returning to.

We have just used this site for the first time. We had a folding caravan, a tent, two dogs, two adults and two 11 year olds. Plus an awning.
We had phoned prior to book a pitch. We didn't need to send any deposit.
When we arrived the lady came out to meet us, she was very nice. I told her we needed two pitches as we had the tent but she said we could squeeze it onto the front of our pitch.
So all in all we paid £36 for the two nights. We were impressed. Its a very quiet site. Hardly any noise at all. No traffic, just the odd plane going over from Stansted but that wasn't obtrusive.
There is no shop or amusements or park for the kids but we knew that before we booked. We did like the ducks that come over from the lake.
The toilet/ shower block/ washing up room were spotlessly clean at all times. Very impressive.
The site is about a mile from Sudbury. The Saturday marker was small but the fruit and veg from there were top class.
There is a Tesco a short drive away.
We will definitely go again as it makes a great base for Essex/Suffolk.

This was the second time of staying here it is a lovely quiet small site just outside of Sudbury.
The owners are very polite and they are out everyday making sure everywhere is clean and tidy.
The shower and toilets facilities are superb very clean and very private. All the water and disposal facilities are within easy reach.
It is a very quiet sight but is close enough to outside amenities ie supermarkets pubs and restaurants and Sudbury has a lovely little market on a Saturday.
The only downside there is if we had to find one is there isn't a children's pay area but to be honest the kids amused themselves.

Impressive entrance spoilt by shabby little reception attached to 2 old garages. Staff were quite casual and we were left to find a vacant pitch.
This is a small, tidy, open field site surrounded by woods. Pretty lake in one corner. The generous pitches were numbered, but not separated by fences or hedges.
Pleasant clean toilet/shower block, plenty of hot water. Adequate even when site was practically full. No shop or cafe. Local pub was within walking distance, but there are no pavements on the busy and quite narrow road.
No access to surrounding woods from the site, but it is possible to walk through the fields to the Henny Swan pub on the river. The footpath starts across the road from the site entrance.
It took about 25 mins and you have to negotiate several stiles, some cows and lots of cow pats, but it's worth the effort. Lovely pub, good food.
There is good tv reception. No extra charges for dogs, awnings etc. Not much here for kids.
This is a well kept, level site. Good value for money. We would use again.

As others have said small, quiet, grass site with ehu around the perimeter, owners very trusting as didn't want any money till our departure though didn't see much of them during my stay.
Toilets clean with two large, free shower cubicles. Sudbury can be walked to in about 40mins or an hourly bus service will stop outside the campsite entrance to either Sudbury or Colchester.
There are three pubs within reasonable walking distance The Brook the nearest does food with a nice garden,The King Head further on,don't know if they do food but seemed like quite a friendly pub and The Five Bells which is a bit of a drinkers pub with a nice pint of mild on. Paid a very reasonable £13.50/night for two wiyh ehu.

Quiet small site, the owners are extremely helpful and pleasant. Good base to explore Suffolk. The washing up, toilet and shower facilities were exceptionally well maintained, modern and spotless - a refreshing change from some other sites I have visited where standards deteriorate during the day. Great site, great value.
We went with young kids and although there are no facilities for them, they played quite happily around the tent. It is quite a quiet site however, so not one for football games or rounders.
Overall, would recommend for a quiet stay and brilliant toilet/shower/washing up facilities.

A small-ish grassy site located just south of Sudbury, surrounded by trees. There are a number of statics adjacent to the tourer's site. Most pitches are on grass (good holding for pegs). The toilet block was clean and modern: showers are spacious and there's plenty of hot water.
The owners were not particularly visible most of the time.
Sudbury is a good base for exploring Suffolk by bike. The town also offers a good range of shops and amenities.
Reasonable value-for-money.

Have just returned from the bank holiday weekend at this site. Site was almost full but only had to wait a very short time on one morning for a shower, as previous reviews they were spotless. The hand dryer had its fuse, but people kept on turning the fused switch off which was very annoying as you then had to turn it back on with wet hands! It turns itself off once you move your hands away! All the people we met here were very friendly and they were very relaxed about departure times, which meant we could make the most of the whole weekend. The price for a caravan with two adults was £11:50 plus £2 for electric, all in all a lovely site at a good price and we would hope to return soon.
