We stumbled across this site on our first ever trip to Scotland and what a welcome it was after a long drive with 3 kids and a dog. The owners were friendly and helpful.
The toilet block was immaculate all of the time. Power showers were free and hot. There was even a hairdryer in the ladies toilets. I noticed a laundry room too.
My daughter was delighted when an ice cream van came round the site! Also there is a vending machine (which we didn't use).
We had a week long tour, then ended up at the site again, it was a change to the wild camping we had done, a welcome relief to be able to get clean!
It also boasts the largest burial chamber in scotland. We enjoyed the long walk thru the woods to Callander in the evening, handy stop off point and we will def use again. It only cost us £17 for a trailer tent (we didn't use the awning), 2 adults, 3 kids, a dog and EHU.

Keltie Bridge is a campsite of varying pros and cons. First it should be said that we had a fantastic holiday here.
Keltie Bridge is positioned on the edge of the beautiful Callander, a town that has embraced tourism with lots of pubs, cafes, take-aways, gift shops, etc, and has typically-Scottish imaginative buildings.
A ten minute walk into the nearby woods will take you to an awe-inspiring waterfall dropping into a gorge below a picturesque newly built bridge.
Follow the story of Rob Roy into the amazing surroundings of the Trossachs (I recommend a visit to his grave beside a beautiful little church on a hillside in Balquhidder).
And that’s the beauty of Keltie Bridge; it has brilliant surrounding attractions.
However… it’s not all good news. The campsite is long, and as has been pointed out several times here, it only has a toilet block at one end. We were placed at the farthest end from the block, and as we were in a tent, we were reliant on this facility.
The toilets and showers were immaculate, but this is also a problem - it is cleaned maybe too often, meaning we were being worked around while trying to use the toilet. When you have so far to walk to the block and find it is yet again being cleaned out, you can’t help feeling annoyed. In fact it is so far that the owners actually drive their cars to get there, and some people even use their bikes.
The town is also a smidgen too far to walk at 1 ½ mile away through unlit woods. At half a mile along the main road there is what appears to be a pub called the Murtle Inn - forget it.
It advertises itself as open with menus on a board outside, etc, but it is actually shut down. We nearly walked in on the home owners sitting having their tea. Very irritating that they simply did not bother to put up a notice to say they were shut.
So Keltie Bridge is a site of sweet and sour. It is very cheap at only £13 per night (you don‘t pay per person) but I worry it will soar upwards when the new toilet block is built. It would become a brilliant site though and I think its popularity would rightfully soar too.

Our first visit to this site for a year, what a transformation!
The Wilsons have raised the standard dramatically. The boggy pitches near the entrance are now hard standing, as is what was previously the main tent area, although they seem mostly seasonal pitches. A new area for tents and tourers is being opened in the adjoining field. A second toilet block is to be built to accommodate this.
The existing toilet block is spotless and is checked and cleaned several times a day.
There is no playground as such, but an area has been designated with a set of goalposts.
The manager and his wife are the friendliest and most helpful I have met in over twenty years caravanning!.
An excellent base for touring the Trossachs and Southern Highlands and Callander itself caters for all the usual tourist needs.
My only gripe is that the site is now a victim of its own success and is very busy!
Good value at £15 per night.

This was our first time using our tent on a campsite, so have nothing to compare it with.
The manager was very friendly and supportive, giving us newbies plenty of advice and help.
The site was clean and tidy with plenty bins around. We were the only tent on site, but the manager did say in season they can knock back 50 - 70 tents over a weekend. So if you plan to go there in high season I would suggest booking in advance.
The shower/toilet block was very clean. Though with only four showers I imagine it could be busy in high season. And like others have said, it can be a bit of a walk if your far away from the block.
The manager was always asking on how we were managing and if everything was ok. I liked the fact he was going out his way to make sure we were happy.
We left a day early because of the weather and packed up at 5.30pm. The manager has said he'll give us a free night whenever we want, as long as we book in advance. I thought that was a nice touch.
It cost £15 per night for our 4 berth tent without EHU. Toilet/shower block was part of the price.
Overall, a good site that served our purpose. I'd happily go back.

This is the first time we have visited this site but we will certainly be back. The manager and manageress were very friendly and helpful. The site was well kept and the toilet block was very clean.
We understand another toilet block will soon be built which will be an asset in the summer season. This is a well run, friendly site and one which is highly recommended for visitors to Callander and the Trossachs.
It is central for touring popular areas of Scotland. Any season is nice but autumn is particularly beautiful.

This was our first outing in our tent and we were very pleased with this campsite. The owners were friendly and pleasant. The shower block was always spotless and I never had to wait for a shower.
We were in the middle of the site and were an 'ok-ish' distance from the block but agree with other reviewers that an extra block would be a great improvement. A playground would also have been a bonus but my 3 boys were just happy to have a designated area for a kickabout.
The site had its 'full' signs up yet we felt we had plenty of space around our pitch which was lovely.
Nice family site and would definitely go back.
We visited the new Briarlands Farm which is reasonably priced and had loads for our boys to do (aged 7- 10 years)

Took a risk and it paid off.
All pitches are nice and level and well spaced out. Our hook up couldn't reach power so owners lent us an extension. Would have been nice to see more of the owners only saw them on paying. I like to have a chat and get local knowledge(been spoilt at Clachtoll) Site was full but toilets were always immaculate.
Its a long walk as there is only one block near the permanent residents. Four showers didn't serve a full site lots of waiting, but clean and free. Lots of nice walks from site plenty to see and do. We went to Inchmahome priory, Doune castle bracklinn falls and falls of Dochart all in 1 weekend.
As site was busy it was very noisy past 11 with two young children, would have appreciated owners having a word.
Would definitely go back depending on how much the new owners put up the fees. As he told me hes very cheap but has no extras apart from loos and showers. £17 pn with EHU

Nice caravan site that accepts tents, caravans and motor homes. The one toilet block was never too busy and I understand there are plans to build a second block that can only improve the site. Showers are first class.
The lower field area houses tents as well as caravans and seemed to be the popular area for families as the football goals and grass play areas are there. If you do not have children then the top field is maybe more for you.
Excellent walking accessed directly from the site. Several routes to choose from mostly with good underfoot conditions suitable for a pram or wheel chair and also providing a variety of gradients.
Mostly level pitches although a levelling block never goes amiss, may be advisable to bring rock pegs in addition to grass pegs.
A suggestion for the future may be to introduce recycling facilities but that has to be our only negative comment about this site. We will return.

Just back from a lovely weekend at this site.
Managers were great, always around and very helpful. Site itself is lovely and secluded even though it is just off the main Stirling Road. There is a walk that goes from the entrance to the site through the woods and along to callander which was great for walking the dog and getting to the pub!
The only downside was the distance to the toilets from the camping area, as usual the caravans were pitched beside them and the tents at the other end of the field. Also I would recommend bringing a torch as I found the site was slightly on the dark side when getting to the toilets at night time.

After ten years of tenting, we bought our first touring caravan.
We decided to go for a 'Test Run', so did not want to go too far.
We booked into Keltie Bridge Caravan site, and I have to say, I am delighted we went here!
The site is lovely, and my children both enjoyed the flatness of the road for cycling on.
It is a safe site, and therefore I felt relaxed enough to give the kids freedom to roam.
There are only two things that I would change about the site, 1-Having a set of toilet blocks at both ends of the site, as the only ones are at the bottom of the site, and quite a walk from where we were, so things like emptying the chemical toilet, or going for a shower is a bit of a trek.
2-Having a play park for the kids, there are small goal posts and a ball left for the kids to use, but the site would benefit from a play park.
I have often found that what makes a site are the owners, and you will not find two more helpful and plesant people than 'The Wilson's'.
We had a water issue with our caravan, and David helped at the drop of a hat, arranging for his friend to come from Falkirk to aid us, helping to fix the problem, and give us more insight into our caravan.
They are two of the best site owners we have come across, and despite the two things I have stated above, we will be returning.
A site well worth going to.
