Stayed on this site for a visit to the local Go ape at Aberfoyle. Used this site as the site we booked was poor so we decided to find somewhere else.

When we arrived we found the site to be fairly empty and the hook ups were all available, we had 3 tents with 9 people in all, called into the managers office where we were met with an unwelcoming lady who told us to find a pitch and come back once we were settled, only to be hassled on site by the owner or her husband (unsure which) who told us we had to pay before we pitched.

The site was very clean and the toilet/shower block was clean and nice, although we found the set up to be very strange with the tourers being right next to the toilets and the tents quite far away, seems to be the wrong way round.

The local area was lovely, great veiws, wonderful river, and I would recommend the go ape! Callander is a nice place with lots of pubs and places to eat and a tesco express not far away for those who foget something.

Not sure how the site is 4 stars as it is fairly basic, nothing for kids. A great short stop site somewhere to picth for a night and move on, or as a sleep base.

Booked for two nights. Guy in charge was bit grumpy but we didn't let it spoil our holiday. People camping on site friendly and would like to say a big thanks again to eddie and his son harry from Dunblane for helping us four helpless women put our tent up.
Site had good toilets although bit far away, showers were great, just the thing for getting rid of they horrible midgies! Would go back the views are lovely. Hopefully be back beginning of august with my daughter and plenty midgie spray!
Within walking distance of callander and a nice drive to lubnaig loch and the green welly shop which has some lovely things to buy

We booked in for three nights over Easter weekend. When we arrived we were told to park in the first field which was disappointing as we had hoped that we could have got further into site after all we had booked 2-3wks in advance. This meant we had a long walk for use of toilet / shower block. Overall site very nice & quiet and excellent value for money.

Had a great time, took the bikes and went on a cycle rides up to Strathyre (need good mountain bikes), and not too far to walk into town and get drunk listening to live bands and then stagger home.
From memory you cant book to stay here, just a case of turning up and hoping for the best - not recommended for busy periods.
Toilet blocks were clean, site is lovely, right next to the river. Some might not like the trees (noisy at night in the wind) but didn't spoil it for us.

Used this campsite as it was getting late and we could'nt find the campsite we had planned to stay at. Noticed it had 4 stars rating so we thought we would give it ago.

Had to go to managers house to book in, got told to pitch anywhere. Drove in saw it was very large and spacious with plenty of room.

However tents are not allowed past a certain point. This is kept for tourers etc. This is where the shower block and toilets are. I dont no why this was kept exclusively for the tourers and caravans as most of them will have their own chemical toilet, this was rather unfair on people with tents.

We pitched the tent as close to the boundry as possible but still didn't like the idea of having to trek 150 yards at 4am to use the loo. The toilets and showers were ok (hot power shower) but they could of done with a bit updating. Although we didn't have children with us we could'nt see any play area. I can't believe this is a 4 star campsite.

We certainly won't be going back there again.

What a smashing site this is. A great stop off place for going up north. The site itself is well laid out but if you are in a tent you might have a bit of a walk to the loo's. The facilities are lovely and clean and maintained on a regular basis. The site is only a couple of miles outside Callander where you can get your supplies in the Co-op or Tesco. The thing I loved the most was running out of coke for my Bacardi and found there was a soft drinks machine (chilled)outside the toilet block! Priceless !

Stayed there 2 weekends in a row in April excellent tidy site.
Only one toilet block, very clean and good showers but if your located at the entrance end of the site you will have a bit of a walk.
We had a lot of trouble trying to book the site as no one seemed to awnser the phone so the second weekend we just took a chance and turned up. All in all a very nice site with great walks all around and safe cycle routes as well.

Visited this site many times with touring caravan and tent, always really enjoyed it and found the wardens friendly and helpful. They seemed to have a relaxed manner which made us feel at ease and welcome. Facilities are clean and well kept, however tent area has changed to the entrance to site particularly if you require an electric hook-up for your tent. The pitches here are small for a large tent and way to far from toilet block for comfort! I preferred it when touring caravans and tents could mix , location of tent pitches to toilets will definitely put us off in future. As most tourers have on board toilet facilities it may have been better to move these pitches. Or build more.

This is a nice site in a picturesque location. It is well maintained and the toilets and showers are clean. The only drawback is the warden who appears to regard his patrons as an encumbrance and because of his gruff and discourteous manners we will not be going back. I had planned to stay for three days with my wife and baby grand daughter but left after the first day.

Nice site lady who booked us in was very friendly. When we got on the site we couldn't believe the wonderful views. Nice walk into Callander and up into the hills. Everyone very friendly, only down side is they could do with a few more showers but on the whole very nice site will go again when we go to Scotland.
