We have just returned from a fabulous two week camping holiday on this quiet site. We had a bit of a problem putting the tent up with a slight slope in the field we were camping in but sorted it in the end. There are two large camping fields, the lower field having a child's play area and two toilets. The upper field has a laundry, shower and toilet block for men with 3 showers and 3 toilets there are also 3 showers with free hairdryer and 6 toilets for women in their block all with free hot water and although the weekends were busy there was never a long wait to shower, there is also a washing up area provided with free hot water too. The owners Sarah and her mother-in-law Jean were very friendly and very helpful. As I said it is a quiet site but there are plenty of supermarkets about a 2 mile drive away towards Taunton and also a small shop inside a petrol station half a mile away. The Nags Head pub is about 20 mins walk down the road (10mins if you are hungry) which serves food but we didn't use this so can't comment. Out of the two weeks we only had one Saturday with a group of campervans who insisted on playing loud music most of a Saturday and late into the night but the owner came down and told them to be quiet and think of the other people on site. We paid £115 for each week and that included electric. It was that good we are back again in September but hiring one of their 3 static caravans again very reasonable at £170 per week, highly recommended Anne & Eddie

We've just returned from 3 nights at Ashe Farm, which was our first-ever camping trip. I really loved this place. The owners are amazingly friendly and helpful and at £6 per night per adult, it's really good value. We camped in the lower field, which was nice and quiet. It has two toilets (very clean) and a brand-new play area for the children which they loved. There is electric hook ups in both fields and drinking water taps too.
The weather was pretty terrible on our first night, but the field did not become waterlogged.
You can bring dogs with you, so if you are not a dog-lover this might not be ideal. There's also no campfires permitted, but you can have BBQs.
I really recommend this campsite and we will go back again.

Found this site by chance, but so pleased we did!
Stayed for 5 nights and wished it could have been longer.
Good clean facilities with lots of open space.
Shower block: free showers, constant water pressure, did not go cold; spotlessly clean. A little unsure if 3 showers (in each mens and ladies) would be enough if the site was full. However, did not cause us a problem this time.
Very impressed with the family / disabled shower wet room.
Site facilities: spacious, clean, well kept and pitch marked up with our name when we arrived. Owner - very friendly. Sarah was extremely helpful and accommodating when we changed pitch and when we stayed longer than expected.
Two basic play areas for youngsters - but to be honest, there is so much room available on the site, these areas were not overly used really.
The site is secure, with the gate closing at 10pm for caravan access. There is still access for cars. It was not a noisy site by any means.
Local facilities: pub within walking distance, which happened to have a Beer and Cider festival on when we stayed. Garage with a small grocery section only 5 minutes away.
Literally 2. 5 miles off the M5, near Taunton.
We really can't say enough good things about this site - made us feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would DEFINITELY be going back there - this time with friends and family. Would highly recommend a visit.

2nd time for a one night stopover. Great site. Owners very helpful and friendly. Booked a pitch. Name on chalkboard. Facilities, spotless. Great for M5 and A303. Taunton not too far. Great carvery pub 5 min drive away. Sainsbury's and McDonalds just the other side of the M5. Going to book again for next year.

The annual Bank Holiday camping for our group of eleven (the Prices, the O'learys and the Thompsons). Another campsite to try. Ashe Farm informal and friendly.
We arrived on the Friday evening to find our plot in the second field nicely pointed out by a metal sign with our surname and arrival date, (nice touch).
The main shower block was clean and tidy at all times, there were also two unisex toilets in the second field, again clean and tidy. A light bulb had blown in one toilet we mentioned this and straight away someone was there to fix it-EXCELLENT.
The pitches are flat and a great size also the majority have electric, amazingly really well priced. Child friendly with plenty of open space for games and a small play park.
Just up the road is Nags Head, public house this does a good Sunday Carvery with a children's play area they also welcome well behaved dogs in the bar.
Looking forward to going back.

Stayed here for one night as a stopover on the way to Cornwall, it's ideally situated for this, as it's only a couple of miles from junction 25 of the M5. Access to the site from the M5 involves having to turn right accross a dual carriageway though, which isn't ideal, especially if you're towing a caravan. If you want to avoid the right turn, then I believe its about a 15 or so mile round trip down to the next roundabout, in order to approach from the opposite carriageway instead.
It's a really pleasant site though, informally run, with each plot marked by a small blackboard telling you if and when it's occupied. You just find yourself a vacant plot and the owner comes round between 9-10am in the morning to collect your site fees (if you need to leave before that time, then this can also be arranged).
The toilet/shower block is clean and modern and there's also a couple of small play areas to amuse the kids too. The local pub is a ten minute walk away from the site, although this is down a country lane with no footpath. The pub itself is worth a visit though, with a nice beer garden and big play area for the kids.

We stayed on this lovely site for one night on the way down to Cornwall. The reception is informal to say the least and a great respite from hours in the car with 2 young children.
The site is nicely laid out and immaculate. There is a play area and also an old tractor for the kids to climb all over. The toilet facilities although small would put bigger sites to shame, they were immaculate and also warm.
The camping field seemed well sized and there was a decent spacing between the units.
We would definitely use the site again as a stop over and probably in the future when the kids are a bit bigger if we are coming to this part of the country.
All considered, a good £16 for a night's accommodation.

Just returned from 7 nights here. S very pleasant stay indeed. Sarah made us welcome and our pitch was marked for us in the 1st field. Plenty room and adequate facilities and very clean and tidy. Although dogs are welcome, there is no dog run area, but plenty of walks from the site are available. One negative point. No dog poop bins!. Nags Head pub 10 min walk but be prepared to wait for meals. 45 mins for two burgers!. Would we stay again. CERTAINLY.

My husband and I stayed at Ashe Farm as a stop over for one night on our way to Cornwall. What a lovely site would of loved to have stayed longer. The site is so spacious with plenty of room in between pitches. Facilities are excellent there is 4 ladies toilets and 3 showers, 2 men's toilets and 3 showers, there is also a separate area with hairdryer and mirror. There is an out side pot washing area, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
A information room with lots of info about the surrounding area. It cost us £14 for the night which we thought was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend this site.

This could be the perfect campsite with a little more investment and care. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed our visit. The dog walking was first class the site is very relaxed and the shower block was clean & tidy. We never had to wait for a shower or loos. The grey waste is back of the toilet block. The site is quite and is split into two fields, we were in the first field in pitch 37. There is a pub within a 10 minute walk which we did not use. Would we use again yes we would for a shorter stay when traveling long distances.
