Lovely clean campsite - very quiet - there is very slight traffic noise if the wind is blowing the wrong way. Sarah and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and we never felt that we were rushed or bounded by rules at all. Super pub a short walk up the road (Nag's Head), fantastic walks, although when we visited they were quite muddy and our dog would have appreciated a doggy shower at the end instead of a cold tap! the previously mentioned problem of insufficient toilets in the second field has been resolved with a lovely new, albeit small, toilet block. We will be back!

What a gem of a site! We stayed 11 nights and loved it. It's incredibly quiet and the facilities are modern and clean as can be. A very welcome feature is the extra loo in the lower field - nice not to have to walk all the way to the primary toilet block.
It's a very easy tow and convenient to Taunton for grocery stores and other amenities. We didn't visit the pub so can't comment on it.
Note for walkers - the local OS map shows lots of footpaths in the vicinity, but be prepared to bushwhack your way along them, as they're not kept up. Due to the rain, they were also quite muddy, and several of them have stiles that large dogs can't get under, through, or around. Beware of the cows in the farm's field - we nearly got crowded against a fence as we tried to get out through the gate. They were rather too interested in the dogs, who were on lead and under control.
One (very minor) niggle is that the main toilet block could do with a paved path to the road, as one ended up with wet and muddy feet walking through the grass. Otherwise, the site is terrific.
As they charge per person and not per unit, unlike most sites, this site is a fantastic deal for solo travellers. Highly recommended, and would definitely visit again.

Great spot a few minutes from j25 of the M5. Very clean facilities and Nags head pub 1/4 mile away with decent food and let the dog into certain areas. We used Ashe Farm as a stop over on route to Cornwall, much better than overnighting at a motorway services. Excellent value for money, it's a pretty site nice and quiet during our visit in May. There were plenty of hard standings that were fairly flat for the motorhome. The shower block is clean and modern and there is a decent laundry room. We will be back some time to explore the area.

What a breath of fresh air this site is !
Roll in and pitch up, the lady will simply wander around and collect your pitch fees in the morning - A site based on trust!
Nicely kept with good toilet facilities.
Childrens play areas are basic, buts of lovely space to play ball games.
This site was exactly what we wanted, perfectly located for the M5 which is where we were heading.
Beautiful pub short walk up the lane with great children's facilities and great food.
We would definitely come back again.

We find this a handy site for a stop over as it is close to the M5 (J25) when travelling to the South-West and South-East.
A very well kept site with short grass, good showers and toilet block if the pitch is booked your name will be on a marker on your pitch.
Pub with food close to site.
Plenty of space for children,
Friendly and pleasant owners who come and collect the site fees in the morning if they are not about when you pitch up or go on site without a booking well worth a visit we have been 3 times and will us again.

This is how camping should be. Lots of space, friendly neighbours who arent too close. Very peaceful and what I signed up for when I started camping.
Only negatives - showers aren't always hot, but they are spacious, toilets are quite a distance if you are in the bottom field and there is an RSPA rescue centre a couple of miles away. Personally I loved hearing dozens of dogs howling like wolves at 3am in the morning, but I appreciate not everyone would.
We loved this site so much that we are trying to fit a late September long weekend in to walk around Taunton and use Ashe Farm as our base. Absolutely loved it.

My wife and I stayed for seven nights (we originally planed for five).
This is a gem of a site, and takes ‘value for money’ to a new level.
Sahara was extremely friendly and we loved the option (even in August) to pay on a daily basis.
There are two fields and we stayed in the first (entrance) field, this is where the only facilities bock is located.
At a total of £13 per night (2 adults, hook up and awning) with free hot showers in August this must be one of the best value sites in the UK.
On the down side there was only one rubbish bin point (at the entrance to the second field) which was only emptied once a week (a bit of a mess). The grey waste emptying point is built so high off the ground you will have to be very fit to lift your waste hog or have to empty it more frequently (most sites have this point on the floor so not sure why this needs to be so high?
The facility block was always kept clean with large shower cubicles, a laundry and local information room, however in my view if this was modernised and a second block built on the second field I would think it worthy of a 4/5 star rating.
There is a fabulous pub, Nag’s Head, within walking distance serving great food plus another good food pub The Half Moon at nearby Stoke St Mary.
Finally. At only 5 minuets from the M5 it is very accessible.

Enjoyed this site so much we stayed for 2 weeks instead of the 2-3 nights we booked. The owners are so nice and very laid back. Showers, toilets and laundry room always very clean, in fact the whole site is very well kept.
We were in the bottom field, there are some caravans that are pitched there permanently and yes it is a bit of a walk to the toilets but this meant that it was less busy than the top field.
We visited Minehead, Taunton, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Burnham, Weston Super Mare and Exeter. All very lovely. Asda and Sainsbury's are close to site.
Hounds can be noisy but it usually only lasts a short while. We just loved the peace and quiet. Also fell in love with the little robin who dropped in every morning for breakfast.
Would not hesitate to recommend this site.
We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from from Cornwall. Rent is collected from the owner between 9 and 10am and if you haven't booked in advance you can just choose a pitch, otherwise your name is marked on a board.
There is a toilet and shower block along with a laundry room with a free iron to use, which came in very handy for the 3 preening teens we had with us! These facilities were very clean and tidy, and best of all no queues in teh morning!
We took the kids to Brean which is only 40 minutes away, and on the 2nd night they were quite happy to have a kick around in the field.
All very quiet and chilled a nice way to end our week away. I would definitely stay here again.
Only advice is if you want to buy any fresh eggs in the morning from the owner, get in quick as they were all sold out by 8:30am!

Third visit to this site this year. (That should tell you this is a good site)
Very well maintained, good showers and also an information room about places to visit loads of leaflets etc. Also phone books in there which proved very helpful. If needed, there is a local takeaway that will deliver food direct to you(leaflet in information room).
Owners are very friendly and helpful. They come round in the morning to collect pitch fees, all very relaxed.
Just about to book fourth visit.
Just love this site.
