Our third visit to this site and every bit as delightful as the previous two, the only difference being that this time we were able to stay a little longer - 5 nights. This is such a lovely, laid back family run concern, which I'll be happy to take my family to again and again. Ashe Farm really is one of our very favourite sites.
As I've stated in my previous review, facilities on this site are very well maintained and more than adequate for the numbers of visitors even during peak season. It is well situated for exploring the Somerset coast, Exmoor and so on. The site has plenty of space for kids to run around and a small play park. Pitches are generous in size, with almost all offering electricity. There's a good ale house at the end of the lane (well within staggering distance) and it's very convenient for Taunton and the M5. Prices are very reasonable and staff are accommodating and friendly. The goats, chickens and sheep are very friendly too.

This has to be the most relaxed and welcoming caravan site we have had the pleasure to be at and we have clocked up a few! From the very start of the stay it had a relaxed feel which was not only from the owners but other holiday makers which makes a difference especially if you are staying for 5 nights as we did.
There were two areas to the caravan site one which had a through road and the other was more secluded and ideal if you were with a group of friends or family. We stayed on the first bit which was right next to the toilet and shower block which was ideal as we have a 4 year old! Toilets clean and showers hot with plenty of space for washing up. There was also a laundry facility and a place to dry your clothes.
The area itself is beautiful with an abundance of national trust sites if you like that kind of thing which thankfully we do and managed 3 in a day!
Fabulous pub with kids play area 5 minutes walking distance which sells extremely nice Cider which makes the walk home all the more interesting!
This was also the best value for money venue we have stayed at and will definitely be going back, could not praise it enough. Thanks for a fabulous holiday and being part of making happy memories.

Just got back from a fabulous stay at this lovely site. We had a great flat pitch with loads of open space for kiddies to run around and play. Great local views. The children loved the goats at the farm. The facilities were always kept clean with the provision of a hairdryer too. We found this site a fabulous base for exploring the south west. Really reasonable priced too, we were most impressed. We weren't penalised because of the size of our tent either. I would definitely recommend this site.

Brilliant site, we arrived and went to reception from where we were taken to our pitch, we were in the lower of the 2 camping fields there was a board out with our name on but were told if we didn't like the pitch we could go anywhere else in the field we wanted, we stayed in the pitch (although we think we should have moved in hindsight due to being under a cherry tree and being overrun with ants). The lower field has 2 toilets, a play area and bins. The upper field has the shower/laundry block with (in the ladies) 3 shower and 4 toilet cubicles plus a hairdryer cubicle all lovely and clean. We were only there the weekend so we didn't need the laundry area. There was also an information room with leaflets on things to do in the surrounding area and a small freezer. We didn't go to the pub a 5 minute walk away but there are supermarkets and Taunton town centre a 5-10 minute drive away.
All in all the site was lovely, although road noise was all night and it is just down the road from an RSPCA rescue centre at which we assume the dogs get fed at 0600 and 2200 as this was the time they were going nuts every day.
We would recommend this site and will be using it the next time we visit family in the area.

What a lovely friendly site.
We stayed on this site for 9 nights so we could visit Somerset.
I liked the fact that when we arrived you were allowed to have a look around the site pick your pitch. The owner who is very friendly and helpful was there to welcome us and show us around and suggested pitches for us. You had plenty of room on your pitch, there was also picnic benches available to use. The toilets and showers were always clean. There was also a free hairdryer. There was also a nice small laundry room, which we used, it was two pound for the washer and two pound for dryer.
There was some swings and a sandpit for the kids to use. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and our two lads enjoyed playing ball games and it was nice that there wasn't a lot of rules.
The owners were a lovely couple and were very helpful and friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble. My husband didn't bring enough of his tablets he is supposed to take, typical man, we arranged for my mum to send him some, unfortunately they didn't arrive in time and Sarah kindly sent them on to us.
There is a pub about a quarter of mile away, the food is very good, in fact we visited three times whilst staying on this site. Its well worth a visit.
Its a shame this site is so far from us as if it was close we would definitely use it for our local weekend trips.
We would definitely recommend this site, one of the best we have stayed on.

What a fantastic site!
I booked this site after finding it on this website and reading the great reviews.
We arrived and had a reserved pitch in the 2nd field. It was a corner plot with trees behind and to the side of it. The pitches are very spacious with ample of room for our tent, an area for the the stove and washing up and our car.
Sarah came and collected rents every morning and took time to talk to each family and check everything was ok.
There are 2 toilets in the 2nd field and they were always clean and stocked with loo paper and soap. The shower block and more toilets are in the first field, we never had to queue for a shower.
We also used the washing machine and tumble drier, we purchased tokens. Both £2 each. Unfortunately the washing machine didn't have a very good spin cycle on it and the clothes came out very damp and the drier couldn't get them fully dry.
The camp site was very quiet, almost too quiet. We have 1 child and usually on camp sites she makes lots of friends but there really was very few other people about.
The children's play area is basic.
As others have mentioned there is a RSPCA centre down the road and I heard the dogs howling and barking on several occasions day and night but it didn't stop me from sleeping.
There is a pub 5 minutes walk up the road - The Nags Head, it has a great play area and outdoor seating and is also lovely inside, we had a meal there and it was a great choice of menu all well priced and the food was delicious.
On the day we packed up, Sarah came and spoke to us and checked everything was ok and wished us well. She is a very friendly lady.
All in all this is a great place to stay and if I were heading back to Somerset I would return to this camp site.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at this site, if you want noise and hustle and bustle then this site is not for you.
If you want warm friendly owners who greet you on arrival take you to your spot speak and smile every time they see you through out your stay this is the site.
Lovely clean modern facilities, hot free showers, washing machine and drier(work with tokens)
There was two small play parks which were enjoyed by our children aged 6 and 12
Large supermarket about 20 minutes away very easy to find.
Very spacious pitches to, one point I will mention is not far away from the campsite there is a RSPCA and occasional we heard the dogs but they never affected our sleep and I am a very light sleeper
We recommend this site 100 per cent

We spent 7 nights here, the first week of the school holidays. It was a delight.
Between us we had 2 tents, 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a child. No EHU, though there were lots of EHU points around both fields. We were in the second field.
The whole site is very well managed and spotlessly clean. There was always soap and toilet paper in the toilets, the showers were always clean apart from the odd bit of grass that got tracked in. There was always hot water available for washing self or washing up. The freezer in the information room was a massive help as the temperatures (possibly for the only time this 'summer') climbed. The information in the information room was also very helpful.
The owners were very helpful and friendly and came round to check that everything was OK. They even brought my son's phone charger to the tent when him indoors posted it to us because No. 2 son forgot it.
Most of the units on both fields seem to be caravans or camper vans in the week we were there, not many tenters. It made for a fairly quiet time since quite a few of those on the second field seemed to be seasonal so they were empty for some of the time.
There is lots of shelter with trees and hedges to create shade and provide wind breaks. I parked my car under a tree, several people pitched their tents under trees.
The younger people in our party enjoyed the playground and played endless games of cricket in the middle of the field. They want to go back at October half term, and they reached that decision by about half way through our second day.
Locally there is lots and lots to do. There are several National Trust properties nearby, Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are all easily drive-able (though beware the prices at Cheddar and Wookey - we drove up, parked, looked at the prices then got in the car and went away again - tickets cost around £50 in both places, they make you pay for everything even if you don't want to do everything). We had a good (whole) day out at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton and another at Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford. Barrington Court was also very interesting and enjoyable.
Taunton has several Supermarkets (Sainsbury's is nearest). We walked to the pub down the road which serves good beer and cider and very good and reasonably-priced food.
The noise from the road is fairly constant but not loud and being constant, we filtered it out quite quickly. The dogs at the RSPCA place do bark but it seems to be mainly at meal times twice a day and not much at other times. If they did, we didn't notice it. There is plenty of wildlife. Red Kites can be seen, also squirrels, rabbits and crows. We also heard a 'stonechat' and other birds we couldn't identify. There was a blackbird's nest right behind out tent.
We had a great time and are planning to return, probably next summer if not before. The only thing we would change is that next time we will try to pitch a bit closer to the toilet block!

What a gem of a site this is. A real hide away, set amongst trees, beautiful countryside and very relaxing.
Kids loved the swings, and open grass areas for running around. Small sandpit with swings set in safe enclosed area.
Good clean facilities on a quiet site, surrounded by trees with lovely walks.
Was our overbight halt on way to Cornwall but will be back for a longer stay, as this site was so peaceful and relaxing with lots to do in the area.

We visited this site to try out our caravan and awning for the first time and to visit family in the local area.
We were sited in the second lower field and had lots of space to set up, there is only two toilets in the bottom field and I once had to queue but the main toilet block is not far away so I wandered up to that.
The facilities are very modern and well kept lots of Hot water in the shower. The children's play area's are a bit basic my my youngest loved the swings and the masses of open space to run around in.
The site is nice and quiet and you can just about hear the motorway if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. You can hear the Dogs from the Kennels/RSPCA centre not far away but the noise was only sporadic.
In summary its a lovely site and we will be using it again in the future.
