A lovely site overlooking the river Severn estuary. The facilities are very good with clean showers and toilets. Lydney is close by and has the usual shops and supermarkets. The owner is very friendly and always has time for a chat.
We found some lovely walks very close to the campsite. We also had very good weather so that always makes camping more enjoyable!

The friendliest welcome was given to us by farmer's wife. This is a level site with some hard standings, generously spaced with electric hook ups, overlooking the Severn Estuary & beyond. There are 3 toilets each having a wash hand basin, also 3 sinks & 3 showers, all spotlessly clean. There is also a separate washing up area. The atmosphere when we were here was relaxed & friendly.

Just back from our first visit to this lovely site. The facilities are first class. The toilet block which has Free showers were always immaculate. There is an outdoor washing area for the pots and pans which also has a freezer which is a nice touch. The area is ideal for exploring the Forest of Dean and has plenty of dog walking potential. The owners are very obliging and come to check everything is ok without being overbearing.
The views over the river Severn are amazing and we would thoroughly recommend this site.

Just returned from Plusterwine after another great weeks holiday. This site is just perfect, great views, good size pitch, first class and clean toilet block. It's close to the forest of Dean and the wye valley, with Tintern abbey close by, worth a look. Also Symonds Yat not too far away. Just about 22 miles up the A48 you have Gloucester, that's a good day out, take your money Mrs! Plenty of shops. But best of all is the welcome you get from the owners, nothing too much trouble. The owner does her daily rounds to check if you are comfortable or any problems. All in all it will be very hard to find a better site.

Just had a great weekend at this cracking little campsite.
As previous reviewers have said, it's maintained & run to a high standard (by very helpful, friendly owners who clearly take a pride in what they do).
Shower/WC (mixed) facilities are modern & clean (a recently refurbished 'Portacabin'), adjacent to a washing-up area (with freezer).
Best of all is the (flat) camping field, overlooking farmland down to the Severn estuary. Although 'full' this weekend, the owners did not over-populate the site, ensuring it retained its relaxed, rural feel.
Recommend the Woolaston Inn, now a Gurkha (Nepalese) restaurant, just a few minutes walk. Brought a takeaway back to the campsite, dragged over a picnic table & watched the sunset!

Had a weekend at this site to go to a concert at Chepstow racecourse last weekend.
What a superb site. No too far from the venue and a very easy to find site.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming and even offered us a lift to the racecourse when we couldn't get a taxi!
Would definitely recommend it. Toilet block is superb and a very pleasant area with good views.
One we will return to in the future. Couldn't fault anything.

Have just returned from a long weekend at this smashing little site.
Easy to find just off the main road always a bonus when towing.
Toilets and showers(3 of each and free)are unisex but were always clean and well stocked.
Halfway between Lydney and Chepstow so there are plenty of things to do in the area.
The owners could not have made us feel more welcome, and this is a site we will certainly be returning to in the future.

Beautiful surrounding area with amazing views and very peaceful.
It really is a beautiful spot and I would have no hesitation in returning.
The surrounding countryside has easy access and there are many historical places to visit and go walking.
Little in the way of facilities for children but that is in keeping with the surroundings and means it is nice and quiet.

Visited this site back in December with friends both in our caravans for a Xmas weekend. Everything was excellent from the great owners to very nice clean toilets and showers.
In march of this year for Easter x3 caravans x1 trailer tent all returned. Again excellent site with nothing to much trouble for the owners parents. As the owners were away this time
I would highly recommend this site to anyone including the great location. We will all definitely be returning again
Thanks again for a great time

We stayed for a week at this site over new years. The site is in an excellent location just off the main road towards Chepstow from Lydney, central between the 2 towns. It's ideal located for visiting the forest of dean and I can recommend the 4 mile sculpture trail especially if you have active kids.
It was really wet and windy while we were there but the shower block was always kept clean and tidy and despite it being a portakabin it was probably the poshest one I have ever been in. It's only the one block which is unisex but is extremely well fitted, even the toilet cubicles have little sinks in.
There are excellent views across the river Severn and you can see the Severn crossings from the site.
Being a farm site the kids loved seeing the cows and the sheep, although there is no play area that didn't bother them aged 5 and 2,
The owners are fantastic, they are vey friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, our children were even invited up to see the new calves which they loved.
The site is also handy if you have dogs as (if it wasn't so boggy) you can walk right round the farm which the land leads down towards the river. Unfortunately it was so wet we didn't get chance to do this but we will definitely be returning.
There is a tesco and a co op in Chepstow and a smaller tesco in Lydney, both have petrol stations. There is a pub within walking distance although didn't try it out, it was recommended by the owners.
The local village of woolaston has a little Londis and a play area and skate park, this is about 15 minutes walk from the site.
There are 5 hard standings, although they are not wide enough to put a caravan and awning on they are quite long, we fitted our 23' motorhome on and put our drive away awning behind it so it didn't get muddy. There are also numerous grass pitches.
We will definitely be returning, just hope the weather is better. !
