What can I say. Relaxing, chilled, entertaining and by far the best shower experience I have had in a long time ! exceptional facilities - I have not seen better in many a full site - great is not the word. Hard standing, electric, all water amenities close by and personal picnic tables all with a view of the Severn and Wye rivers and the bridges. Chickens come to say hello, cows moo at you and the calves playing in the field make it a wonderful experience. The meet and greet was friendly and informative - all in all I worry about my honesty as I want to keep it a secret but others should experience it too. And all this on a one night stay. !

Arrived on site 14 aug for 5 nights. met the lovely owner who showed us around. Lovely tidy site elec/clean showers, great views of the river and the two seven bridges, tourers tenters all friendly, and lots to do.
Then met cruffy computer less owner, ha ha, no a great bloke. on one windy stormy night they got their digger out to shelter a tent which helped a great deal. yes a great wk, shops pubs chepstow. we're going back.

We loved the site, we're coming back with our family this bank holiday. It's quiet, friendly, accessible and small site. We did a couple of walks to the sea from the site which took us to the river.
The showers and toilets are really clean. Cows, chickens and tractors appear and disappear through the day and the views are peaceful and interesting. It's child friendly as not very many cars were moving around as it's so small.
But the best thing about the farm is the family running it. They are really friendly and knowledgeable about the area, very laid back and chatty.
Would utterly recommend the site.

We've just come back from this site, and we're very thankful we found it!.
Site itself is around 100yds square (small), has space for for 6 mobile homes/caravans (gravel hardstanding, rest of the site is tents only on closely cut grass (no stones!), site is flat. Electrical hook up & taps (drinking water) immediately available around perimeter of fenced site
Its sited right next to the owners farmhouse, with an entry exit straight onto the road down to the A48 (about 500yds), so very easy to get in and out. View from campsite is straight across the river Severn
Facilities are brand new, comprising of (in a new portacabin, behind a hedge- so not intrusive), 3 x toilets with washbasins, 3 x washbasins with mirrors, shaving points, 3 x shower rooms, plus a family shower room, (shower sufficient for at least 2 x adults. Tested. ), with long bench for clothes. As previous reviewers have remarked, they are unisex, but all showers have enough space to get changed in and out of clothes (think ensuite bathroom sized, plus family bathroom sized) - no-ones going to mind if you wander across the site in a towel!.
The whole facilities are pine panelled, cleaned daily, showers are all power showers and v hot! (very Swedish. )
Location within Forest of Dean is great, the Gurka restaurant/inn easily in walking(staggering) distance - we went there!.
Local village is a brisk walk away - with several pubs and a 24x7 Garage (off license. ),
Chepstow, Lydney (19th century harbour), Tintern Abbey, Puzzlewood, Gloucester, Simmonds Yat are all within 30 minutes drive.
In addition - as its the Borders between England & Wales, Wales is easily accessible, Cotswolds, Warwickshire, Bristol, North Devon - all are within a hours drive.
In short we cannot recommend this site highly enough, its family owned (Christine & Paul), they are very approachable and friendly and made us (with our Argos Tent and an old Volvo. Nothing posh!, very welcome). We will be returning.

We stayed at Plusterwine Camp/Caravan site for four nights at the beginning of June. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Christine the owner. The site is well kept and although the shower/toilet facilities are unisex we did not find this a problem at all.
The free showers were always piping hot and even though there were approx five caravans, four tents and three motor homes we never had to queue to use them.
The site is ideally situated for visiting Chepstow and other lovely places such as Tintern Abbey. There are many good eating places nearby and we would recommend The George PH and The Rising Sun which are only a short drive away.
The Red Lantern Chinese Restaurant in Chepstow is also highly recommended.
The site also has beautiful views over the adjoining fields and the river Severn estuary. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Excellent site.
Friendly wecome, level pitch, electric, water, clean loos and showers (which appear different from earlier reviews). Pleasant spot if you don't mind a truly rural location (with smells to match)
£15 per night on a bank holiday weekend seems good value to me. Plenty of space for half a dozen vans and numerous tents.
Handy spot for Forest of Dean and very easy to access even for large vehicles
Would recommend to people looking for clean fuss free sites who do not want more than the necessities. Will return

We spent the weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
All the family are very friendly.
The toilet block and showers were great, lovely and clean. If I had to make a criticism, it would just be that I would prefer a ladies only wash place but it doesn't put me off. Its An ideal place to just chill out.
Dogs loved it with all the wild life. Will definitely pay another visit. Lots of places to visit. Very friendly.
There are a few public houses in the area, although we didn't visit them this time. Great hospitality.
It is only a small site so you cant expect miracles, as I said, its ideal to chill out.

The site was very level with lovely views over the river Severn. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived.
The toilet block and showers were new and were very clean. I liked them because the showers were closed in (so no cold wind blowing beneath the doors).
The only small criticism from my husband was the water pressure in one of the showers but they are already addressing this.
As I was born and raised in this area the purpose of this visit was to see family so the nearby attractions were not important. My husband and son enjoyed the walks along the Severn and going into Chepstow.
All in all I would recommend this site to any one that wants a quiet friendly place to stay.
The owners are very nice and keen to make your your stay there is enjoyable.

We spent 6 nights at this site, which as others have said is located with wonderful views across the River Severn (which is no more than 1/2 mile away).
We were very lucky during our stay to coincide with views of the Balmoral sailing right past the site on route to pick people up from the local dock (Lydney) for a day trip down the Bristol Channel to Ilfracombe. There is a website (Waverley Excursions) which gives details of these trips, so others may try to arrange a visit to the site and undertake a river trip whilst there!
Although well into the school holidays the site was quiet, with between 5 and 2 Units (plus a couple of tents) across the duration of our stay. Hence no queues for toilets/ shower/ washroom.
As others have commented, the 2 showers share a dressing area with a single lockable door. One person of either sex can thus tie up both showers. Two people travelling together may therefore prefer to 'coordinate' their showers!
Plenty to do and see locally, due to proximity to Wye Valley and Forest of Dean attractions. Many thanks to the owners for their hospitality.

We stayed at this campsite for six nights in August. We were looking for somewhere to stay in close proximity to the climbing in the lower wye valley.
The owners were really friendly and relaxed about what time we arrived and left. Wonderful insight into life on a farm!
It would benefit from outside washing up facilities separate from the washrooms, however the views were lovely and it was quiet at night. It was also Good value for money. We will definitely be returning here and would recommend it to other climbers who want somewhere quiet
I would recommend the Gurka restaurant down the road.
