First visit to this site.On Bank Holiday weekend!
The site is spacious, open and not crowded by any means. However there are 111 pitches according to the map we were supplied with and only four showers (2 male/2 female). The toilet block were rusted and falling apart slightly. We could only find one water tap and to top it off, my tent blew down on the Thursday!
Okay, joking apart I can't blame the wind on the campsite! But seriously, if you're going to stay at this campsite, make sure the weather is going to be nice. Because the last thing you want is to be queuing in the rain for a shower, listening to men complaining that the women are using their showers. I think eight people was the most we had in a queue at one time and this was when the mad morning rush was starting to die down.
The owners were friendly, it had good washing up facilities etc., and it only cost £12 pn, however with the amount of people they can accommodate at the place, I think they should start thinking about smartening up the toilets and adding a few more showers. I'm not asking for a whole new 5* block, but as they seem to like the portacabin type things, maybe just add a few more to the collection.

Sea View is a lovely basic farm campsite, with friendly welcoming owners.
It cost us £13 for 2 adults, 1 dog, tent and a car a night. There are two fairly flat fields which have large pitches, only a few have electric hook-ups. Two ladies and two gents showers, costing 20p which lasts 5 minutes, they were very warm and kept clean. Toilet blocks were also kept clean but basic. Both the showers and toilets could do with a upgrade. Washing up facilities are under cover with four sinks. There is also a large freezer for ice packs and a fridge.
The campsite is a mile up hill from Slapton village, 1 1/2 miles from Slapton Sands beach. Me, my partner and our dog walked into Slapton, where there is two great pubs serving really nice food and real ale. Both pubs allow dogs in, however we decided to sit in the large beer gardens. There was also a small village shop. Roads are very narrow through Slapton Village, not suitable for caravans or motorhomes.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sea View very much. It is a basic campsite where you feel like you are proper camper at a very reasonable price.

This is a fairly basic site - just a couple of fields. There is one toilet block with about 6 toilets in the ladies and a few basins. The shower block is separate but nearby with 2 showers for the ladies and 2 for the men. These facilities are not modern, but were very clean. The washing up facilities are under cover and there are 2 sinks. Freezer was useful. Lady running the site was helpful. Slapton itself is quaint, but with tiny roads. Blackpool Sands (or Shingle) is nice, and Dartmouth is well worth a visit.

We arrived at this site in the evening, after looking at, and deciding against, Leonards Cove in nearby Stoke Fleming- too many caravans there and pitches in a small area by the road.
We really liked Sea View, and spent 5 lovely nights there. It is basic, but the lady who runs the place looks after the facilities well, and although there aren't many showers, they work well, and the loos were quite clean. The washing up facilities are also under cover, and there is a large freezer for your ice packs, and a fridge for storing perishables- really useful when you have a 1 year old who likes her milk.
The site is made up of two fields with lovely sea views- the name of the site is a give away- (providing there isn't a sea mist!). There was heaps of room, and even when families and kids turned up on the Friday and Saturday, it didn't feel crowded. There was plenty of room for them to play, and also loads of space for out littlun to crawl around without worrying about there being a track close by. It's a proper campers campsite. Rustic, and really peaceful at night. You could just hear the sea in the distance which was lovely. There is only one drinking water tap, though, so if you camp on one side of the large field you will have a long walk to that and the loos/showers. There are hook ups if needed.
We also found it to be very friendly, chatting to all sorts of people.
Locally, there is loads to do. Blackpool Sands is a nice beach- albeit with shingle rather than sand. If you want sand, go to East Portlemouth at Salcombe, or slightly further afield try Bigbury-on-Sea, which has a great beach and cool surfing. Dartmouth is also a fabulous and pretty little town with all the necessary faclities. The local village at Slapton is also very pretty, although don't try drving through it if you have a large camper van- it will be very tight!
All told, a wonderful holiday. The weather was kind, and we will return to the area again soon.

We loved the site. Lovely views, large pitches, beautiful area especially for walking. However we probably wouldn't go there again, especially during a busy time like half term, as for the number of pitches the facilities were minimal. There were 2 gents showers and 2 ladies showers for the whole site, approx 6 ladies toilets, with 4/5 hand basins (I didn't go into the gents, but I think it was a similar number) and just 2 places for washing up. Technically I suppose there were four sinks but 2 sinks shared the same taps.
It wasn't expensive but it isn't the cheapest of sites either at £12 per night, and I think perhaps some more money needed to be invested in some extra facilities. One positive was that there was a large chest freezer available for refreezing your cool-box blocks.
We would recommend the Queens in Slapton village - the food was excellent.

I've stayed at this site 3 times now. It's the type of site that makes you feel you are really camping! This year a welcome addition of a shop to go along with the 4 showers, which are warm and the right length and only 20p (a local told me 'the one up the road' charges 50p!) and there never seem to be long queues a friendly washing up room with usable electric points and a fridge and freezer and clean loo blocks. We always choose a hook up pitch which you need to book up for. The owners are very friendly. A warning though, this is sea view, on the headland - therefore can be very windy. If you don't know the south hamms yet, I'd recommend you go, and know you'll enjoy this site and the whole area.

Excellent farm campsite with friendly staff and owners. Fairly level fields with good drainage, slightly exposed but only to be expected from their elevated position, the reward is a view of the sea. Basic toilets and showers, but clean and functional.
There is a shop stocking a few essentials.
Slapton village has a couple of great pubs offering two different cuisines.
Blackpool beach is a couple of miles away for water sports and relaxation.
We enjoyed our stay very much and it didn't break the bank, would go again.

A flat couple of well maintained fields a mile or so uphill out of Slapton. Very quiet and pleasant (woken only by skylarks) and with a distant view of the sea over rolling fields
Run by a friendly couple who didn't charge me for my dog as it was not high season (usually £2 per night).
Facilities including electrical hookup on some pitches and spotlessly clean toilet and shower facilities. No shop that I could see.
I went camping with my son and daughter for my birthday. I was hoping for a campfire but that was not allowed on account of burning the grass for other campers - a barbeque was permitted.

Positives: Rural. Quiet. Picturesque Cheap (£10 per night + 2 adults + Car only £4 for extra adults!) Hot showers* Clean Loo Block. Fairly Flat. 20min drive to Dartmouth 7min Drive to Slapton Beach. Lovely owner. Fridge/Freezer for ice packs (make sure you label yours!)
Negatives:
*20p for 5mins. Only 2 sinks in Men’s toilet block. Directions/Roads
Other comments: First issue… The roads… These have been mentioned before, but if like me you are not familiar with Devon and its roads/directions, beware! I was using TomTom GPS and thank goodness I was as we would never had found it. The TomTom was taking us down roads (more like tracks) with 6 foot verges on each side, with the odd passing place (not many though!) luckily however the roads were quiet and we only met tractors and trailers and 4x4’s every now and then. You have been warned. What made things worse was the map on the website wasn’t the most helpful as the roads are criss-crossing all over the place! However we did find it, and when we got there we didn’t know what to do… Go down towards a big metal barn, this is where the loos are in a Porta-type hut, and then you will see sign posts to reception. Before we got there we were greeted by the owner and her daughter, and they welcomed us, booked us in and gave us their rules. Nothing out of the ordinary, just no music after 10 and no flying kites in the lower field due to power lines. –Fair enough!Nice and rural, very relaxing, and after dusk it was lovely sitting and watching the stars/satellites and shooting stars from the tent after a hard day of water sports in Dartmouth.
Would definitely go again! It was a mini-adventure

Great site, has all the basic needs with 4 showers 2 toilet blocks and washroom with freezer and fridge. Most of the site is reasonably flat non sloping which is great for tents. Only drawback is the 4 mile road when traveling from Totnes to the site which is very narrow and although their are plenty of pull in place to pass when vehicles are coming in opposite way this is not for the inexperienced driver. Whatever you do do not take one of the side roads of this trail as you will find even narrower lanes with no passing places. Great views all round and prices very reasonable £10 per night includes tent + 2 people and only £1 for children on top.
