Loved this site, a simple square field, beautifully kept. Very friendly welcome when we arrived. Dined in the pub twice as the food was so amazing. There is a water tap on the electric hook up so no need for hiking across the field for water.
Bins are plentiful too. Toilets and showers were free and more than adequate. We will definitely return to this site and have been telling all of our friends about it too.
A short walk across 3 fields gets you to Bidford on Avon. There is every take away you could want, a water front restaurant and pub.
We did not have children with us but noticed an exceptional play park for all ages of children on the riverside.

A lovely campsite in a great idyllic setting.
Upon arrival we checked in at the pub and met a nice lady who advised us which pitch we were on and gave you us a menu for the pub grub. She was perfectly friendly and helpful too when we wanted to change the pitch we had been offered.
The field is basically a big square with electric pitches around the edge and the central area for tents and playing etc. Some pitches are slightly sloped, but nothing a bit of levelling would not sort out and there are a lot of flat options for tents in the middle too.
There are plenty of water points and these are found on the electric points around the edge of the site. There is also a central fire point with sand buckets available for use, should it be required.
There is no children's playground, other than the big field, and there are fields and woodlands surrounding the site too.
I found two combined toilet and shower rooms, which has both advantages and disadvantages and if the site was busy, I could see queues forming for a shower if somebody was using the loo. However both were clean, tidy, had fresh towels, plenty of loo roll and an electric shower in each, which worked perfectly and did the job.
The pub is lovely, proper olde worlde and they offer the usual range of beers, wines and spirits, all at reasonable prices. We did not eat there but the menu was reasonably priced and the food I did see come out, looked lush.
The site is located pretty close to the river and to get there involves leaving the site through the pathway between the trees in the far corner of the site and through the field this comes out in, and there is the river. I guess one could fish there, but not being a fisherman, I could not guarantee this.
Walking along the river and through the fields, after 15 minutes or so, you arrive at the bridge to the entrance of Bidford village. This is a quaint village with a few pubs, Indian, Chinese, general store, post office, bakery etc. , pretty much everything one might need. We enjoyed a few beers in the Frog Pub, sitting by the river and then went for a meal in the Balti Hut. The food was nice, but not the best I have had, and pretty expensive too
You can continue to walk along the river for miles and in one direction can complete the 8-mile walk to Stratford, I did not do this, but it is possible.
Overall a good site, with a great pub, dog and kid friendly and one I would return if in the area again.

Basic facilities, but clean and functional. Terrific bar with superb food. Like has been already said the cheesy garlic bread is a must have.
We had great weather and the site was dry but it does look as if it has been muddy especially the way onto the field.
Satnav postcode straight to the door.
10 minute walk to Bidford upon Avon, we caught the weekend with a vintage rally going on, which was a really good show, and the town crier came to tell us all about it!
Only one criticism - please oil your squeaky ride on lawnmower!
We only came home yesterday and we wish we were back there. We will definitely go back.

The campsite is at the rear of The Cottage of Content, a cosy country pub with beer gardens front and back. We spent Easter weekend there, so it was pretty busy. Had a wonderful time.
£15 per night for caravan pitch with hook-up - good value. Electric hook-ups around the edge of the field, two pitches share a water tap. Toilets and showers basic, one combined toilet/shower for women and another for men (Could do with being cleaned a little more often!)
Toilets outside the pub also accessible. Though there were no problems with queueing even on this busy weekend.
Shops are a drive away in Bidford on Avon. We were told we could walk there across the fields but didn't try it. Plenty of places to visit, such as Stratford.
Pub food excellent. Would definitely go again.

As first time caravanners we were looking for a site that would be problem free with regard to pitching, facilities etc. This was so ideal that we visited twice in April. The pub does very good food and the staff were extremely friendly & helpful, Toilet/shower block was rather basic and small, which could be a problem at busier times of the year, but was clean. The pitch on both visits was level and the water tap being to hand was very useful. Would definitely go again.

Campsite is at the back of the pub. EHU's around the edge, with everybody else in the middle. Very sheltered site, with trees on 3 sides, and the pub on the other. Toilets are very basic, would benefit from updating. One shower for everybody, which desperately needs updating. No washing up facilities.
The river runs along one side of the site, and fishing is allowed from the pub. There were a group of men trying to set up camp to fish for the night, the pub appeared to still be serving them beer, even though they were obviously drunk, but lucky for us they gave up, the tent proved to be too difficult!
It's in a nice area, plenty to see and do.
OK site for a couple of days, but would struggle in a tent for longer.

Upon arriving we went into the small but lovely pub, paid & were the directed to where we could camp in the back field. The edges of the field have ehu points (each with water tap) but as these points were all booked we camped in an area in the centre of the field (marked out with hazard tape & bollards), which had a slight but generally not noticeable slope. We did have an effort to get the tent pegs into the ground as about 2 inches into the ground there is a very hard layer.
The site is surrounded on 3 sides by hedges / trees & on the 4th side by the pub, so it's very sheltered, but if you are camping in the middle of the field there is no shade,so a gazebo is a must if the weather is very sunny & hot. Also, as the camp site is very sheltered sound can carry very clearly!
The site facilities are basic but generally clean, although the (ladies) toilets could have done with a check up more often as towards the end of the day toilet paper had run out & cleanliness was lacking.
A very short walk from the site is the river Avon (with weir, which is just about audible from the campsite) & there are places to eat in Bidford which is aprox a mile. If like us you wish to walk from Bidford-on-Avon to Welford-on-Avon along the river (approx 3.5 miles) wear long trousers & sleeves as in certain areas the nettles & grass are very overgrown, but the route is picturesque & we had a very enjoyable meal in The Bell Inn in Welford.

The welcome we received was warm and friendly and we were told the location and number of the pitch. Unfortunately, the number markers had been taken and our pitch had been taken by Caravan Club members who were there for the weekend. No problem, the host gave us another pitch after apologising.
We have an EHU and pitched beside the outlet which also had the water tap. Very convenient. The site where we were was level and the tent pegs were in firm ground that was well drained. The space was generous and we could park our car next to the tent.
The revelry over the weekend was loud but controlled and did not last past midnight. It was much quieter the rest of the week and we availed ourselves of a pub meal that was well cooked and reasonably priced.
The toilet facilities were adequate and clean for the two outside toilets and one shower though there was no hot water in the toilets.
The surrounding area is great for walking and there is much history to be enjoyed within a twenty minute car journey including many NT and English heritage properties. We were not hurried off the site at the end of our stay merely being told that '1 pm would be OK if that was all right'.
This site is enclosed by tall trees and hedges on three sides and the pub on the fourth side. All in all a really good site as long as you do not require other than basic hygiene facilities,

A great location and superb pub. We stayed over a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday night music session. The site is level with toilets and a single shower for the site. The shower was broken on our visit, however it did not really cause us any problem. There are electric hook ups and water taps on every second pitch.
Being close to the river Avon there are walks in the area and a dedicated cycle track about 1/2 mile from the site.
We'd recommend it but be warned - if you like good beer and food, a night may not be enough.
