I'm just back from my first camping trip and I loved it.
Facilities are very basic, no showers, but clean toilets and big enough to wash and change.
The staff were so friendly and really helpful. The pub had a great atmosphere and everyone made you feel really welcome (like a local). Very dog friendly pub and on a horrible wet night they even allowed my dog into the pub while we enjoyed some great tasting food. Menu was outstanding and suitable for all taste buds and great value for money (beer a little on the dear side but do have happy hour)
We found a lovely walk into Bidford upon Avon (1 mile) a lovely walk into Stratford (3 miles) and a great market in Moreton in the Marsh (Tuesday)
Overall a great campsite, and we will go back

This site is a little lacking in amenities but it is more than made up for by the friendlieness of the staff and quality of the food.
The site is on a slope and you have to be a little inventive to get your van nice and level but it is worth doing, there is electric and water on every pitch and the overall surroundings are well kept. The toilet facilites are basic but clean and there no showers. The local village(less than 1 mile away) has everything you could need and there is a very good caravan dealer ands accessory shop 4 miles away. It ia 10 minute drive fom Stratford and 25 minutes from Warwick.
Overall I rate this site 7 out of 10, if you are self contained and want a quiet site in a good location this is highly reccomended.

Fantastic little site with a big potential.Water and electrics on pitch. Toilets are basic but there are plans for a shower block to be added. Pub owners Dean and Liz were very welcoming, kids and dogs allowed in pub which has 3 resident ghosts, a lady, an old man and a child. You can get to the village of Bidford via a 15min walk through fields or a 5min drive. Plenty of things to do in Bidford, there is fishing on the Avon and park for the kids. Chinese take away; indian, pizza, budgens, post office and cashpoint outside onestop, all you need for a relaxing break. Going back in 2weeks and cant wait. This place deserves its title. The campsite was very friendly, but the toilets are basic. Electic hook ups available and water on tap at pitch. There are plans for a new shower block which should enhance the site drasticly. A Pub and Resturant are very convient being at the front of the site. The site itself is set in a picturesque little village. It's about 15mins walk away from Bidford on Avon Centre. A very nice site and Dean and Liz are very friendly and deserve to get on in their new venture. We will be back to see them in near future.

Now under new management. The proprietors, Dean & Liz made us feel very welcome, including our small terrier dog. The menu in the small restaurant in the pub was quite varied, the food and service good (although prices for alcohol in the bar was a little higher than we are used to). There are plans to improve the (fairly basic) site at the end of this season by adding new toilets and shower block. I only hope that toilet paper and hand-drying facilities are also included - my only gripe in this respect! The site itself, close to the river Avon, is grassed (dished in the middle) and is sheltered by a border of bushes and trees. The general area offers lovely scenery, picturesque villages and leisurely walks. The town of Bidford on Avon is only about 15 mins walk away across the fields, where Indian and Chinese take-aways can be found, as well as pizza, fish'n'chips shops and supermarket, hardware stores etc. On Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays there is a largish car boot sale held nearby from Easter to October.

Pluses include quiet site, lovely location on the river avon, perfect for walks, recommend going over the field to Bidford village. Minus include no showers, toilets were not exactly dirty, but were cobwebby and dusty. Most of the pitch was level, but towards the middle was a bit of a downhill slope. Altogether a nice to camp, very close to Stratford-upon-avon for the sights. However, wouldnt recommend it for children or for stays longer than 3 days.

August 2004 Managed to get in here on Bank Holiday, arriving on the Saturday and was pleasantly suprised. Limited facilities but very friendly, accommodating staff make it pleasant for a short stay. Local area is great for easy walks and Bidford (5 mins away) stocks all you may need. Only drawback is lack of showers and a couple of noisy kids!!

June 2004 The site is level, well grassed and the river runs along the boundary. Barges and other craft are moored on the site and we saw a number of craft sailing by. The facilities are minimal - e/l, refuse and wet waste. No wc or shwr. The village of Bidford-upon-Avon is about a mile or so away with a couple of pubs and shops where most essentials are available. Dogs on a lead are welcome but not children. The site is clean, quiet and very convenient for the various Shakespearian places of interest. It seems very popular with fishermen. The owner is very helpful and pleasant.
