Fantastic site, As previously reviewed not all pitches level but not too bad a slope. Management were very friendly and had some good tips on where to go and what to do. We visited for a week either side of the bank holiday so saw the site quiet and busy. Plus points: Didn't pay for washing up once whilst there. 20p per shower for ten minutes was more than enough time to shower both a parent and child. Biggest selling point for me was the way that Malcolm allowed us to take our time clearing the site, with no "You have to be off site by 10:30am" business. We were able to ensure a fully dry tent prior to departure. Minus points: Tents pitched a little too close together but with a bank holiday approaching I guess this made sense. Whilst a nice group having a sing song were asked to keep it down by the manager at night nothing was said to the family next to us who seemed to have no idea on the volume of either their children or themselves from first light. Access to local beach is fine and only a short drive to some fantastic beaches furthewr a field. (Mewslade deserves a special mention) Overall definitely worth a visit if nothing else to marvel at the number of prohibitive signs around the reception area (there were too many for our three and a half year old to count he! he! he!) We'll be going again.

Great site! Staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming. First impression was that the camp site was a bit quiet but, after being and hour I loved it and cannot wait to go back. Showers and toilets excellent, that's all you saw was them cleaning. Strict on noise after 11pm, good with families though as the children get to sleep very quickly. Pool great with the hot weather. 10 min walk to beach but for a £2 you can take the car and park in the beach car park. Highly recommended!

Just back from long weekend on this site and whilst its an OK site I prob wouldn't use it again unless couldn't get in anywhere. The staff are lovely and you get a great welcome, however the slope on the field is difficult to manage, the showers 20p for 10 mins are not the cleanest and there were often quite a few people waiting to use them, no loo roll not because run out they just dont provide any no soap to wash hands and nothing to dry them with. Site was very cramped and at some points only a matter of feet between your neighbour. Pool is OK but needs cleaning and updating. Again 20p needed to wash your dishes which in busy times meant queues and cold water. Rubbish area was overflowing. Didnt like the fact that you have to pay £10 deposit for your car tag and the roads around the camsite are scary esp if you have small children/prams. The local shop is expensive, if you want to drive to beach you have to pay £2 parking. Just felt that site cramming in too many people and £14 a night bit steep if you then have to pay to use facilities.

We as a family have visited this site on many occasions. We have never had a bad word to say about the site. Malcolm and Carol are great hosts. Always a friendly smile on arrival. We now see ourselves as regulars. Amazing beach very close by. The site is really clean, a lovely family site. Great pool. Always clean! Good night time atmosphere, really quiet. We will be visiting this site again and again.

We chose this campsite based upon the reviews on this website. We had never been camping since we had children, so this was a weekend test run for the summer holidays with our 4-year-old and 2-year-old.
The staff were more than helpful. I am a lower leg amputee and had forgotten to buy a shower stool. Malcolm (I suppose that's his name from the previous reviewer, because I forgot to ask) fashioned one for me out of some milk crates and piece of board, and since they don't have a disabled shower, he let me use the closed shower block (except at peak times, they leave one toilet/shower block open and close the other for cleaning) to have more room and privacy. The toilet/shower blocks are centrally located and within easy walking distance (even for me) from anywhere on the site
We got there at about 19:00 on a Friday evening and there was plenty of room. We camped in the upper field. There were lots of choices of reasonably level pitches. There was lots of room for the kids to run around safely and plenty of room between tents. This is a very family-oriented park. Our kids found lots of friends.
The toilets and showers were very clean. 20p buys ten minutes of a quite hot and well-pressurised shower. Even with my physical limitations it was more than enough time. I found the washing up area to work just fine, though because I followed people who still had hot water left from their 20p, I never ended up paying for it.
The £14/night for a tent with two adults and two children we thought was a very reasonable price. However, be prepared to temporarily part with another £10 as a deposit for the numbered car badge, as this left us a little short.
Even though this was supposed to be just a test for a camping trip to the Continent, we liked it so much here, we are planning to return in a fortnight's time.

This will be our 3rd year to use this site, having stayed many weekends during the year and stayed for the whole month of august. Spotless clean showers and toilets, hot water available at all times. Having a pool was a godsend with 3 children, only problem was pool closed at 5pm. Carol and Malcolm are both friendly and superb hosts. Close to beach and shop, a pleasant 10 min stroll. Certainly will be back again this year.

August 2005 Have just spent the August bank holiday weekend at this campsite and we were impressed by how well run this site was. Despite being very full, it didn't feel overcrowded for a bank holiday and it was quiet at night (as all the numerous signs reminded you to be!). We had booked and got there early so got a flat site (late-comers got slopes). The pool was great for the kids - although we thought 5pm was really early to close when the sun is still shining! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the site is well kept. Just remember your loo roll! The iceblock service was good (30p per block) as no electric. The narrow road to the campsite was extremely busy due to the BH so walking to the beach a little hairy.

August 2005 Well this was our first ever time camping so didn't know what to really expect. We found the people really friendly, very nice, the swimming pool was a godsend when it got too hot! I'd packed toilet roll so it wasn't a suprise that there was none, i was just a bit disappointed with the showers feeling that they could have been a fair bit cleaner. All in all we enjoyed our trip, we found the area was lovely but next time we'll try and find somewhere for the kids.

August 2005 We had a good time at this site. Some flat pitches one of which we were lucky enough to have. Having the pool and a separate one for little children was a huge plus for us. Remember it closes at 5pm though. Very quiet at night - plenty of signs insisting on this, so great for families. Only niggle was no toilet roll or squirty soap provided so take yours every time you go. Toilet blocks clean. Pay 20p for a 10 minute shower - not a problem 10 mins is quite a long time. Also pay 20p to wash up - or boil water yourself and do it in the tent with the radio on! A site clearly aimed at families and couples. We liked it very much.

July 2005 Spent a long weekend at the site, in scorching weather. Found our perfect pitch at the top of the field overlooking the bay, pegging down when the site owner told us we had pitched in a reserved area! Nightmare. It was getting late so we went to the nearest available pitch, which was sloping. Strict rules to be silent at sun down, but no rules about waking and noise making before sunrise! Showers could of been cleaner, toilets and sinks good. (No loo roll, very annoyning)Had a really great stay in a wonderful area. Local pub a bit expensive, but the use of a free bouncy castle helped. Well worth a visit I would say, but ask where you can or cannot pitch yr tent first.
