This is a very big site, well laid out and maintained to a very high standard and good sized pitches. Bins emptied regularly and toilets / showers kept in good condition. Great location, fantastic beach a few minutes walk and stunning scenery in the Snowdonia National Park as a backdrop and as a bonus the weather was brilliant. Lots to do and see in the surrounding area. Someara

Just got back from another fantastic visit to Dyfrynn with 2 adults and 2 kids aged 3 and 6. So good we stayed another 2 nights :o) Facilities and grounds are very well kept. Nice level pitches so no kids rolling off beds. Well stocked shop. The best steak I've had in a long time in the restaurant inside the club house! Cafe serves and excellent fry up too! Beach is a few minutes walk over the sand dunes and is beautiful! We shall be going back again at some point in the near future :o)

Have been to this site before and thought facilities and location quite good. So decided to choose this site for a return visit. We ignored the weather forecast as we decided a little rain hurt no-one. When we arrived most of the usual pitches were very water logged so weather prior to your visit is very important. We ended up on the over flow field which is closer to the beach quite flat (apart from a few holes) and not deep pools of water.
This was a bank holiday so just a few things to note we arrived Friday and even though we only wanted to stop for 2 nights we had to pay for 3 two tents four adults £54 still not bad.
Reception staff seemed fine not rude at all and bins were emptied regularly toilets were reasonable condition! 6 meter rule was not enforced a family pitched too close behind us and proceed to let their child kick his football into every body's tent again - children not properly supervised

What a great site we have been going to this site for the last four years and we'll be going again in 2006. Being a big family we look for value for money and here we found it. The site is two hundred yards from a fantastic beach (two miles of sand), it has everything you need like shop club etc. The showers and toilets are clean and tidy and the staff are always on the ball. Being a large site there are lots of people at peak times and we have only seen one lot of trouble which was dealt with quickly and smoothly by the site owners. We have met some lovely people from all over the country and they all come back year after year. All in one GREAT

I've been visiting this site since a child and now taking my own daughter there camping. I've never had a problem with staff or noise. You can get problems in bad weather due to lack of cover from hedging etc.. although rows have been planted around the site. Mind you isnt it the fun of camping trying to get set up in gale winds!
I did notice the price increase almost doubling during July / August but it is a very clean and nicely laid out site. Beach is spotless, superb walking all over local area and a visit to the Burial ground is a must.
I have camped next to the walkway on a number of times and have never had a problem and even the cars take notice of the slow speed limits. Aircraft do scare the hell out of you though every now & then! I will be going again 5 or 6 times this year and really is a fantastic place

Just came back from this site and loved it. Toilets cleaned twice a day and the showers were too, still a token card to use showers (make sure pull cord is switched to off before you push in token). Nice flat site but make sure you use good storm pegs as when it rains the ground goes soft. Shop good and not far off site to Spar shop in either direction (by car). Nantco Falls is brill take kids trunks and towels so they can play in shallow lake. The thing I liked about this site was the fact that if you basic pitch you can turn up and go when you like with no restrictions Mon - Fri etc. Also you can pay daily if weather is not so good. Nice man in reception and at £12 pound a night well worth it.

August 2005 We've recently arrived home after a wonderful 10 days on site. Two adults and four kids in a Montana 12 on a EHU pitch. Camping for the first time. The pitch was spacious, flat and clean. Pegging down was easy, no stones! The facilities are excelent but busy at peak times. The beach was stunning; warm sea and miles of sand. We made use of the local train halt, approx 1/2 mile, to visit Barnmouth (£1.70 return). This has been the most easy and relaxing holiday for years. The children loved the freedom and space. A most friendly and well run campsite. We will be returning next year.

July 2005 Just arrived home from a great weekend here. There was 19 of us caravanning and tenting. The site is very clean, shower and toilet blocks were also clean. The walk to the beach was about 10mins max, there is a wooden walkway for prams but it is for half the walk across the sand dunes.
The only gripe we had was that it was £22 per night for a caravan and £13.50 for a tent with elctric hook up. We don't know why it is so expensive for a caravan when the tents with electric were in the same paddock (the site is split into paddocks).
We will definitely go back, you do need to book early as we wanted to go on the site next week again but they are fully booked.

July 2005 We go to Dyffryn Seaside Estate every year, sometimes several times a year. It's a lovely place to be. After pitching your tent stand back and enjoy the view of the mountains. Or have a chat with the other friendly people on the site. I've read the review about dogs straying into people's tents. We've always found the the dog owners are responsible even going so far as picking up any little doggie parcels they've left behind. The site is not commercialised with flashing lights or bingo halls and only a few slot machines / pool tables etc., in the club. The toilets and showers are always clean. In high season you have to wait quite a long time for a shower, but doesn't that happen everywhere. The bar staff at the club and in the chippy are very friendly indeed, but be warned - no playing pool after 11pm.
Go to Bala Lake or the beautiful Nantcol waterfalls for a lovely day out. The beach is glorious, clean, flat and quiet. We went in the sea and found it quite warm, but beware of the jellyfish! If I could change one thing bad about Dyffryn it would be to install a loo on the beach!
If you fancy a trip to Shell Island, be ready to shell out a fiver for parking. And if you suffer with nerves, watch out because low flying aircraft regularly fly over the sight, but they're fascinating to watch.

August 2004 Having read some of the other reviews I found it necessary to write. My family and I first visited this site some 27 years ago, and apart from a few years missed we have been there at least once a year since. All my family who are now grown up with children of their own love this site too. What we like about it is the away from it all feeling, closeness to the beach and if you want to chill out its a lovely place to do so. The site cant be faulted for cleanliness, the toilet blocks are cleaned at least once a day and in high season, twice. The shop is always well stocked with basic food requisites, fresh bread and milk, newspapers and magazines, camping gaz, basic camping accessories and even some toys and fancy goods(surely anything more than this you would take with you or expect to have to find a large supermarket for anyway!) The chip shop and cafe are excellent if a little on the slow side, but that is because everything is cooked fresh while you wait (and it is usually shipping orders for families on holiday!) The club is very friendly and serves lovely meals and pub lunches and the play areas for the children are good for all ages. The water taps and large industrial type bins are located at alternate places down the length of the central roadway on the camping field, the latter being emptied every day and they even come round the site most days collecting any stray rubbish that might blow around the field. The only one point that I seem to agree with most people on, is that the office staff do, on ocasion, seem a bit off hand and at times verging on rude, but then we all have our off days dont we (although I don't think that it should show in the office). The points made about the swimming pool are valid, (although to call it a shed is totally untrue, it is of log cabin construction) but this complex is a seperate entity and concessions are given to people staying on the site. All in all this site well deserves its awards for excellence,. I have recommended this site to many people over the years and all who have tried it have loved it.Our party will be there again this August and I know that come rain or sun we will enjoy every minute of it.
