This was our longest stay yet, so did a lot of looking around and decided on this site 1/ Because of the reviews on here 2/ AA best campsite 2007.
I have to say, we were a little deflated when we got there. We had booked an all service, hedged on 3 sides and south facing pitch, which we did not get (and couldn't move because of the length of our stay). *We had to use next doors pitch for water, waste and electricity. * The hedges were barely planted and served no purpose. * The pitch had been used so much that they had to put sawdust down, which you can imagine went everywhere. The outdoor pool needed a good clean and the temperature hiked up a little for the time of year. The shop isn't big enough for the size of the site, you were queueing outside. *1/2 of the games in the games room didn't work. The on site take away was closed, which because this site is so far away from anywhere else was a disapointment, open at weekends would be a bonus. Obviously not the campsites fault, but all the kids attractions seemed to be over in the Newquay direction, so if you want to get out and about, travelling plays a big part on this campsite.
On the other hand The toilets & showers were a plenty, and kept immaculately clean and well stocked, with free hairdryers and the option of a bath for £1. Campers kitchen with freezer, microwave and oven is very handy. Free use of Irons in the launderette. *Fantastic kids play field which is huge. A Long dog walk area which was immaculate. A well sheltered site considering you are right on the coast. Fab views from a FEW pitches(most hard standing).
We made the most of our stay and the weather (hooray) but would not re visit this site.

Just returned from this site and we stayed on the luxury field. We have a 14ft tourer, the pitch we stayed in was more than adequate for the van, awning and the car by the side. The pitches were separated by a small Laurel hedge. We had our own water and waste and electric points including a dustbin by the water point that was emptied every day. My daughter and grand children were impressed with the heated swimming pool and the extremely large children's play area. Other facilities also include crazy golf, pitch and put The shop although well stocked seemed to be a bit pricey as there is an Asda about 9 miles away in St Austell. The toilet and shower facilities were reasonably clean and tidy depending on the time you got there, the shower block was locked from 22:30 - 06:30. There are good wash-up facilities for campers and chemical disposal points. The laundry facilities seemed quite reasonable £5/load this included powder and fabric conditioner that the machine adds automatically, although the dryers seemed to eat money. There did not appear to be a pub or shops within walking distance although Mevagissey is only a few miles away. The dog exercise area is very large and well enclosed with plenty of poo bins. Although we left the site every day to sight see, plenty of families were happy to let the kids do their own thing while the parents relaxed outside the tent or van. At £360/wk I felt this was a bit steep but maybe I am just tight? The area was very picturesque with some good sea views from some of the pitches. I would visit this site again and would recommend the site to family and friends.

Just returned from spending 8 nights at Seaview. Our longest stint yet at camping and had a great time. When we arrived at 12 we were shown to our pitch straight away but it was pouring down so waited until later to pitch the tent. Our pitch was one of the best on the main field. We were with friends and had pitches 18.19.20 and 21. For the price I would say the pitches are not fantastic in size and had we been placed in the middle of the field they were so close together we would not have stayed more than 1 night. The toilet block was okay, with seperate cubicles which had a wash hand basin in too. The shower block was seperate but the only problem with this was if you had a shower, you then had to go into the toilet block to brush your teeth as there was no wash hand basins in shower block. I was not impressed with the standard of cleanliness as the floors were often dirty and the blocks were smelly. Very often there was no toilet tissue but it was one of the busiest periods of the year so maybe this had something to do with it. The shop was very small for the size of the campsite and its very busy especially in the morning. Fresh bread and croissants available but you have to be quick as they sell out very early. I would say it is quite pricey too. The best thing about the site is the playing field. It is huge and the children love it. Great for flying kites , tennis, table tennis etc. The swimming pool is also good, heated so never too cold. The only downside is that some of the beds are broken and the showers next to the pool, are closed between 11 and 1 whilst they are cleaned. The closest beach is at least a 15 minute walk down a big steep hill, great for exercising and you can tell the next day but hard going for children. There is another beach further down in the opposite direction but you need to drive to this. The site is not in an ideal location if you don't want to drive as everywhere is not within walking distance. Although we enjoyed it I don't think we would go back to this site

For the second year running we have been impressed by the site. The weather was reasonable but the site does not flood too badly. The middle field did get a bit boggy but nothing too bad. The launderette is again the best I have encountered. We were on site for 3 weeks this year on a fully service pitch. The one concern we had was cars driving far too fast on site. It is unfortunately mainly campers who drive too fast, they have no idea how to drive on such sites. The toilet block was okay but the rain obviously effected the cleanliness this year. We have seen it cleaner most definitely. I would not like to be on the bottom field as it is very cramped. Pool was a touch dirty this year we felt. Could be due to the weather however.

This site sets the benchmark by which all other sites should be judged! Spotlessly clean with helpful, friendly staff always on hand and willing to assist in any way. Toilet blocks are wonderfully clean, with musac gently playing in the background. The sports field is plenty big enough for everyone and all games are free, with a minor deposit for equipment. The swimming pool is heated to a good temperature and is an excellent sun trap. Pitch sizes are more than adequate, my frame tent seemed almost lost compared to other sites I have been on. An additional benefit is that there is no clubhouse or bar on site which lessens the impact of noisy revelers and detracts in no way from the overall ambiance of the site. Facilities on site are more than adequate and are well maintained, I particularly enjoyed the (several) free Chimenea barbecues that are dotted around the site. The site shop, though small, was well stocked and reasonably priced, early morning fresh baked croissants are a must! Two minor gripes are that the nearest sandy beach is a short drive away while the nearer beach requires some stamina for the steep uphill return journey, and secondly it saddens me, as a responsible dog owner, that there are still people who feel it is too much effort to clean up after their dogs, particularly as the site provides, free of charge, doggy bags to any who request them. I have no hesitation in recommending this site to friends and family and will certainly be making a return visit in the future.

Just returned from this site and we stayed on the luxury field. We have a large 8 man outwell tunnel tent, and the large pitch we stayed in was more than adequate, it was easily the biggest pitch I have ever used. It was fitted with electric hook up, a tap and its own rubbish bin. As part of the package the toilet blocks were split up into individual blocks with a shower, toilet and a sink which was a nice touch. One room had a bath which you had to pay £1 for. The toilets were cleaned once a day in the morning which looked like it was done very quick and not very good. The paper towels and toilet roll was often forgotten. Another gripe I found was that other campers from the other fields were using the block and so making the rooms more dirty. The facilities were very good the swimming pool was clean and warm, the playing field is the largest I have seen and my 4 year old loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop could be made bigger and modernised. The site is a bit out of the way, which can be a good thing but the nearest supermarket is in St Austell which is 9 miles away, so stock up! We found this a very good site but a bit too far away from a lot of the sights of Cornwall if you don't like driving a lot don't bother with this site. The price for the luxury pitch was £380 for a week which we found too expensive, personally I can,t see why it was voted campsite of the year when there are better sites for the money elsewhere

Highly recommended, the owner walked around the site through the week and stopped to ask for our feedback which I thought was a nice touch. A great site for younger families the huge back field was a bonus the kids loved it. Can't comment on the swimming pool as we didn't use it weather was a bit off but the shower and toilet facilities are second to none will definitely return. The only criticism I can give is that getting to it can be difficult as the roads are extremely narrow, but the only traffic are other tourers and the occasional farmer.

Fabulous site! Very peaceful and relaxing. Staff very obliging. Service with a smile. Toilet and shower facilities spotless. Family bathrooms were an added bonus. Loads of nice little touches like radio playing in the loos, coffee machine in the laundry etc. Lovely outdoor pool and suntrap patio area (although we didn't get the weather to take advantage of it!) Small beach a short hike away. Kids loved the play area and plenty of space for football, volleyball, tennis or badminton (nets supplied). Shop was small but sold the essentials and fresh bread, doughnuts and croissants every day. This site is a bit off the beaten track but that was part of the appeal. International clientele which was really nice to see. Only two small gripes - would benefit from a small pub/restaurant on site and mops and buckets should be supplied to encourage everyone to do their bit keeping the showers etc. Clean and tidy. Would have no hesitation in recommending this site to family and friends. We'll be back!

This is a lovely well maintained site with immaculate toilet blocks, well maintained lawns and lovely, accommodating, helpful staff. I was very impressed at the personal waste bins on each pitch and lovely views out to sea. The site has a small well stocked shop run by the wardens wife. We arrived quite late and had no milk, she opened up for us out of hours just so we could have a well earned brew. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The drain on our service pitch became blocked on one of the days we were there, I reported it to reception, called at the toilet block on the way back to my caravan and when I arrived back to the van it had been mended, never even saw the repair man, fabulous service. The facilities for kids is excellent with crazy golf, superb swimming pool and adventure playground. This site also has one of the best dog walking areas I have seen on a caravan site. My only downside was that it is a bit remote if you like driving out each day, but for a relaxing away from it all holiday you could not better this site.

Clean pleasant site. Good dog walking facilities. However access to quite isolated site up single track with shallow cutouts. Pitches quite tight. No clubhouse, bar or restaurant which is vital especially in bad weather and for people in tents with small childen to dry out. Take away (fish and chips) not good.
