Have just returned from a 3 day long weekend at this site. We had a lovely relaxed time and will most definitely be returning.
On arrival we were greeted by Keith. He was very friendly and directed us where to pitch. He checked on us part way through pitching and kept in touch throughout the stay.
There are 2 fields. 1st field has hook up all the way round it and is where the toilets/showers and washing up facilities are.
The 2nd field is more natural, with just a couple of water points, but still only a short walk to the toilets and showers. This field is surrounded by lakes that had ducks and geese when we visited.
The whole site was very dry considering how much rain we have had in recent weeks. The ground is level and well maintained. It is well spaced out with plenty of room to move around. I love the fact that the play park is in the centre of the pitches so you can keep an eye on the children, whilst relaxing.
The toilet block is basic, but clean and in full working order. There are 5 womens showers and 5 mens showers (push button) The water was very hot and had good pressure. There are also 2 family showers that have the electric type showers that you can lift off the hook, and that you can change the temperature (ideal for showering kids)
A good point about this site is that friends can pitch together. There were lots of groups of tents that were able to have a centre area and all still able to have hook up. I do know they have a policy of no young groups though.
The site was quiet from just after 2300 (perfect for me!) You are allowed fires as long as they are in a fire bowl or bbq (off the floor), they sell wood and kindling in the shop. (you are not allowed to collect wood from local woodland) They also sell the basics as well as home made cakes.
This site is perfect for a long weekend or maybe a little longer. It's very peaceful and has a wonderful family feel. Me and my 2 children aged 9 and 7 will definitely return as we only live 5 miles away!

A lovely site in the middle of the countryside, but easy to get to. Lots of room and can park anywhere you want.
Two fields, main one with plenty of toilets and hot showers as well as washing up areas. The other field is more for tents with no electric but fresh water and right on the fishing lake.
Fresh water taps right next to pitch which was handy to fill up tank in motorhome.
Brilliant bridle path leading straight from the campsite into the countryside, Jack Russell loved it, could walk for miles without seeing a road.
Great pub about 1/2 hour walk, the Royal Oak at Wineham, recommended by the guy in reception. We didn't eat food on this occasion, but it looked great (big portions) beware the pub shuts at 2. 30 in the afternoons.
Although I didn't take children, there was a great area in the middle of the field with swings, slides, climbing frames etc, with plenty of children happily playing, where their parents coudl still keep an eye on them.
Great little shop on site, selling all the essentials and some great home made jam.
Would definitely go again, but would recommend parking up on the left hand side when you go in (same side as the toilets) as it was very windy over the other side if you have an awning/gazebo up.

Sorry to say, I was not impressed by this site. It is the first of many I have stayed at where there is no marked out hard standings. There are plenty of electric hook-up points around the field but it would appear you park wherever you want, maybe that is what happens on a camping field.
With the prolonged amount of rain recently I was really concerned about getting myself stuck in what is not much more than a grassy field, luckily this was not the case. Nevertheless it was a concern particularly with the torrential overnight rain.
At £20 for the night I would have expected really nice toilet and shower facilities, sadly this is not the case. Old tired portable cabins really will not do these days and at top money for one nights stay I would not go again, nor can I recommend it to others.
There were many tents there at the time, with families with children (lots) who appeared to be enjoying themselves, so much so that there were many playing outside at gone 11 o'clock at night. Perhaps the fact that somebody close to us played loud music after that time meant that it was okay.
The lady that booked me in was nice and friendly enough so I am sorry to give this site the thumbs down.
Maybe in future I should do more research before choosing a site. This one seems to be fine for young families, but it was not for me.
So for Blacklands, I am afraid it is black marks!

I stayed at this site for the first time on the Jubilee weekend.
Pros -
The staff are very friendly and helpful and there appeared to be ample space, despite being busy.
The children's play area is a nice addition to keep them entertained.
Good locations, being close to Brighton and Lewes. The village is 5 minutes away and has plenty of shops for groceries.
Good price, particularly for a bank holiday.
Cons -
Shower and toilet facilities could do with modernisation. Just 2 male showers, which isn't really sufficient for the size of the place.
No music allowed, even at low level. But this could be seen as a positive by others.

Received a very warm welcome on arrival. We'd booked an electric hook-up and had the choice of where we wanted to pitch up. There are two large fields but I think the furthest field near the fishing lake does not have electric. Very happy where we were.
Toilets and showers were very clean. The only complaint was that the water in the shower was very hot with no adjustment, just a push button. Still, better than freezing cold water!
Lovely location, very relaxing. Fantastic value for money.
Just myself and my partner went this time but will definitely return with the grandchildren, They would love it.

Stayed over bank holiday weekend. Nice welcome and easy to find (cows at the gate). Field was very wet and boggy in places. Both my children loved the play area and the woods to play in.
Toilets always clean even with the dreadful weather. Family showers nice and big so plenty of room to keep cloths dry and help young children. No tokens or 20p for showers and not push button in the family showers.
Felt secure as there is a coded gate to get in and out.
Very quiet after 9pm. You will need a torch to get around after dark. Would return

Wet when we arrived so the pitches were limited due to all the rain (can't control the weather). Managed to fit it in the hardstanding. Very nice site, quiet and seems very secure. Prices are good for the area. I was only in the area due to work so didn't have much time to check out the whole of the site facilities. Showers and toilets are very good and more are being built. There's a play area in the middle of the site so the kids are looked after and there are bikes to hire out. Nearest town is a 5 minute drive. All in all this is a very good site and I shall return.

Stayed here for 2 nights following a very, very wet spell of weather.
However, we managed to find a slightly higher corner of the field in which we and 2 other families could pitch our tents. The ground was fairly boggy and quite wet and muddy in some areas of the field ie near the play area.
We all had electrical hook ups although this may not be possible in busy times.
This was one of our first camping trips and we found the site great for our needs. We had children ranging from 3 to 11 and all enjoyed playing in the well equipped play area or exploring the woods.
The toilets and showers were extremely clean and modern, with lovely hot water in the showers. Maybe a little too hot for children. ?
The on site shop opened for a few hours a day even though it was very quiet on site and had basic groceries etc for sale, very useful.
All in all, a nice rural site in lovely surroundings- very peaceful & comfortable. The village of Henfield was very close but we had no need to leave the site!
Would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for two nights. It was clean and everything clearly signposted.
The site was very quiet but that was probably down to the time of year. The pitches were a very good size.
The shop, very basic but the assistant, very helpful and friendly.
The facilities seemed a little tired, they were being freshly painted when we stayed but everything is quite old and in need of modernising. We went with our three children (ages 4, 9 and 11). The playground suited them perfectly. Very rustic but totally playable! The site is set in the heart of the countryside, so the only noise you hear is that of nature, Ducks, Foxes, Owls to name but a few.
We visited the local pub called The Talbot but it doesn't open until 3. 30pm on a Monday and also doesn't sell food on that day either. We fell upon The Black Horse a little further down the same road towards Marlborough. Extremely friendly, families welcome and the dog was allowed in as well! Lovely food. Great find!

Stayed for a night at the end of October, first impressions are very good coded security gate on the entrance, a small wooded area leads you onto the site, with a small hut/shed/shop as you enter.
This is only open during peak seasons though. They operate a honesty type box system where by you fill out a form with your details and post it with your money through the hut dooor.
Some useful but not essential information, phone signals seem good(Vodafone and Three), plenty of coverage to be able to get online with the laptop. Tv signal a little iffy, but I'm sure will improve next year. Again this is only for information as some people work while camping still.
Main upper field seems flat enough with a children's play area in the middle, plenty of EHU around the outside of the field.
Toilets were plentiful and clean enough, showers were hot and had enough hooks to hang your clothes on. Whilst the shower blocks and toilets are only porta cabins with a wooden face, they are perfectly fine. Although the middle shower block could do with a revamp, as it is a little tired.
Overall its a great site in a lovely location.
I would have no hesitation in returning
