Lovely place to stay, very quiet and welcoming :)
We went here as our first try at camping with our then 3 yr old, and he loved it. The site was basic, no frills, but very cheap! we stayed on August bank holiday weekend, and decided to stay an extra night, and there was no problem, they just asked us to drop the extra cash in on our way out.
Lovely area, henfield boast a fantasic pub for meals out, The White Hart, and they have Jazz on weekends
We took little one to nearby Washbrooks family farm, but it was expensive for what it was, only really worth a morning or afternoon visit.
The camp website is helpful, with plenty of links for ideas for places to go.
The play area is basic, it entertained a 3 yr old, but I doubt it'd entertain older children, just a large wooden boat with a slide and some plastic cows, which the older kids kept stealing!
We liked it, but I'd only go for a weekend, not a long stay.
Little shop was handy, and cheap, drinks for kids were only about 20p, so no inflated camp prices here, and the nightly tent charge was cheapest we'd found, cost us about £11 per night in August!

A very basic site, which suited us well for a two night stay. The weather was kind! Although in the Easter holidays, it wasn't busy so didn't feel at all hemmed in or cramped for space.
Field, hook ups, popular and unusual play area, Plenty of toilets and showers and lots of improvement work going on so should be even better by summer 2011.
Excellent value for money. Everything was clean and while I was washing up, a man in a golf buggy came to ask if everything was OK and whether we were enjoying our stay. Very friendly.
Some reviewers have mentioned the rather grubby long term vans on the site and I guess they did spoil the look a bit but we were able to choose a spot on the other side of the field so it didn't bother us at all.
A lovely no frills (or rather - few frills) place to stay and we will go there again.

On arrival, we were greeted by the sight and sound of children having fun, lots of fun. My initial thought was basic site, two fields and friendly welcome.
We were told to find a spot where we wanted and set up, just not to use the second field as this was for the weekend campers only.
Before getting the tent up first visit was the facilities, 3 large cabin type buildings and a few smaller ones behind and a small shower block, there were toilets for both, and a shower block divided to mens and womens and a family shower room, a quick check on cleanliness given the amount of smaller visitors the toilets looked clean and neat, through out the 4 days we stayed I saw them cleaned often.
The lady and her daughter kept a close eye and any reported problems were on top of before they became a issue. As expected the showers are busy in the morning, but lovely warm showers. We had the dog and 12 year old, both always entertained and very happy on the site.
Staff kept a close relationship with the campers ensuring all were happy and very friendly service at all times, nothing seemed to big to them to ask of them. The site had a small well stocked shop on site, other shops close by in the car.
We went walking in the are on our 2nd day and after 8 miles found the pub, the royal oak, very welcoming and great food. Evening were lovely and quite and the children playing while adults relaxed. No music rule works very well, and rules that are few are respected.
We had a great family stay, highly recommend to walkers and cachers looking for nice walks in the are. One of the very best places we have stayed in. Every one was made welcome and a very happy environment.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a brilliant time. Children happy with all the play equipment (big Noah's Ark boat to climb on, see-saw, football goals, badminton net. And a new slide was being added to the children's area when we were leaving). A Flat site and very quiet. Strict rules about music and noise after 11 which was good as we had young children with us. Ample toilets and showers - never had to queue, always clean and nice hot showers. Henfield was just a few minutes drive away to pick up provisions. We will definitely return again soon.

This is a great campsite, we have just returned from a lovely break here. The site is very pretty and well looked after, even down to the hanging baskets on the side of the toilet block.
There is plenty of space for children to run around with a play area in the centre of the site. My two boys loved the fibreglass cows and horse!
The toilet block and washing up area is clean, we never had to wait and there was always paper, soap and towels.
The staff were very efficient, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay.
I hope to come back again!

I stayed with my three boys age 3,5,7. What a fantastic time was had by all. There is a good mix of objects to play on and the football pitch and volleyball net in the middle of the campsite meant freedom to sit down outside your tent with a cup of tea and watch the kids hard at play. The kids enjoyed playing in the woods and watching the fish.
We never left the site during our stay. The kids made new friends and had so much fun!
The site was quiet in the evenings. The toilets were always clean and never a queue.
The owner was charming.

We stayed here when visiting family in Henfield, pretty entrance from the road, although once inside the site it was a bit disappointing to see the very tired, long term looking caravans ! Maybe a hedge or fence to hide the poor image would help, however this was just our first impression.
Once set up (we stayed on the right hand side of main field (away from the showers)we must say we had a great week-end. The kids play area was in the middle of the field so our 2yr old twins were able to run back & forth with no worries (& we could chill out watching them). The play area is more of a clamber & climb over things (not swings & slides)
There was a very large church group next to us and must say it was lovely to hear them singing (not at all as hippy ish as I thought they would be) their children were all very good when playing & a couple of them took to looking over ours- lovely girls & so polite).
Toilets & showers were kept clean, toilet waste point was good access & on ground level.
Small shop on site (didn't use so cant comment)
The staff all seemed good, nice enough when I rang to book & when we arrived.
Watch out for some pot holes / uneven ground when pitching up, we didn't think about it until we were putting our ground sheet down & realised how lucky we were that just under the trailer was a great big dip.
All in all, a good site & child friendly & nothing posh but value for money.

We stayed for the weekend and loved it. Loads of space even though the site seemed quite busy there was still loads of space for ball games. The 6 kids (aged 8 to 14) liked the play area even though some off them were a bit old for it.
The showers and toilets were clean and we never had to queue. There is a little shop on site which is handy for the odd thing you might forget and sweets.
There is a large pond at the site which can be fish in we are going back to fish in two weeks. The top field is away from the pond so if you have very young children I would stay there.
There are loads of footpaths around the site with lovely views.
In all this one of the best sites we have stayed at.

The facilities albeit basic are good & clean, The staff are friendly and helpful which goes a long way. Childrens play area has been extended from last year now including football goals and volleyball net (which keeps the kids out of your hair whilst trying to set up camp!).
Although the weather wasn't the best over the weekend the children still enjoyed themselves flying kites and playing in the large open fields. At night it was quiet and the field was scattered with rabbits going about their merry business, and in the morning we were woken by birdsong.
All in all a lovely family campsite in a super surrounding highly recommended if you want to get away from it all.

We stayed at Blacklands for a long weekend.
This is a good basic site with good facilities & makes a good base for visits to the surrounding area.
There are a couple of small, older toilet blocks (still clean & decent!) & a much newer, large, toilet / shower block with plenty of room & good hot showers. The facilities are at the boundary of the two camping fields. The first field is a large flat field, backed by tall trees. The second, through a gate, slopes very gently down to the lake.
The site is nicely placed - within 30min to Brighton, Eastbourne & Arundel.
There is plenty of room for kids to play, with an old tractor, large wooden boat & other 'bit & bobs' to keep them entertained. We didn't see the owners & reception was closed, but there was a mobile number to call for problems.
When we stayed we had problems with rats, we were lucky none came into the tent, but could hear & feel them at night. They also knawed a hole through the groundsheet at one point!
