We stayed at Upton Manor campsite last week during our hike along the South West Coastal Path. On arrival, we were greeted like old friends! The manager couple were so friendly and made us feel really welcome despite our aching muscles and sore feet. The site and facilities were very clean, our pitch was great, other campers very friendly and I would recommend anyone to stay there. I'd also recommend the Chinese Restaurant Kam Boat down the road! The site is within walking distance of shops, pubs and eateries.

Our family (two primary school aged children) stayed at Upton Manor Farm camp site for a week in July 2011. It was our first time camping in our new tent and we had a fabulous time. We had a non-serviced pitch and stuck our tent in a lovely spot. The campsite only allows families and couples (no dogs) and so was very peaceful. The toilet block and washing up facilities were kept extremely clean. There was only a short walk to a beach and it was not too far to walk into Brixham. Probably worth a drive to the nearby Sainsburys to save money on groceries (there is a shop in the holiday camp opposite or a Spar down the road for emergencies). The couple running the site were extremely friendly and certainly enhanced our stay with their pleasant nature and local advice. I would thoroughly recommend staying at this campsite and, when we return to Brixham, we shall certainly be visiting again.

Arrived after a 6. 5 hour journey on a blistering hot Monday and pitched up on 68. Drive up the hill was a little challenging and well done to all those with caravans etc but nevertheless very picturesque. The campsite wasn't a disappointment and was everything we had been led to believe. Toilet and shower blocks were of a very high standard and the laundry services great. Very clean toilets/showers. We even had our own mole come visit on occasions as well as the wild rabbits. The site was quiet at night no loud parties etc.
St Mary's bay was a sight to behold but not for anyone with problems with their knees as over hundred steps to get to it, Brixham itself very quaint and lots to see, approximately 1. 5 mile from the site down a hill which was a little steep on the way back so watch those knees. Many areas accessible either by car, ferry, train or bus, we took a ferry to Torquay and weren't disappointed. The water park at Paignton very reasonable and a great hit with the kids, Blackpook beach (yes there is another blackpool) was absolutely gorgeous. Shoalstone swimming pool which is fed by fresh sea water dependant on the tide isn't far from the campsite, we found this by accident on our 2nd to last afternoon there but what a lovely oasis and best of all other than paying for the parking that was all we had to pay. Just to mention that apparently you can buy a weekly car parking ticket which we would've brought had we known about it sooner.
All in all a beautiful holiday, enjoyed by all of us and we shall definitely come again to Devon as it is without doubt a beautiful part of Britain, would recommend this camping site to anyone.

We had a excellent holiday here the last week in July and the first week in august. we were made extremely welcome by the staff who were both very friendly and helpful. Staff had a wealth of local knowledge as to places to visit with good directions. The site was well maintained, as too were the toilets and launderette. we were sited on pitch 1 near the main gate, I thought this would have been noisy with folk arriving at night, but it wasn't, we didn't even hear any loud music or disturbance from the campsite opposite. We both had a excellent holiday here and would recommend it to all, and hopefully we shall enjoy another holiday here in the very near future.

Extremely helpful owners (my corkscrew snapped and they pulled it out for me and gave me a new one).
The site is very well organised, divided in to sections for electric hook-up and non electric. We opted for electric this time.
The toilets and showers were great. 2 blocks with plenty of toilets and showers, so no queueing. There was no additional charge for the showers.
The washing up facilities were equally as generous, and undercover. All facilities were kept lovely and clean.
There is access to the beach, but it is a steep climb down to a mainly shingle beach.
There is no shop on site, but there is access to the shop on the site across the road. There is also a Spar about 10 minutes walk away.
It is a fairly easy walk into Brixham. We had a lovely week at this site.

Spent 8 nights here over Easter in a tent. Got a flat pitch but most of the non-EHU ones are on a slope. If you want to be sure of a flat pitch then go for a EHU one.
Spotless facilities - looks like all the sanitaryware is new even though the buildings are older. Always lots of hot water in both shower/toilet blocks. Didn't use the laundry and washing up facilities but these looked very good, a couple of electric sockets as well. Hairdryers in ladies.
Minda, Brian and Jenny lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. They dealt with a problem family swiftly. The John Fowler site opposite not too much of a problem - bit noisy at weekends but if you pitched away from the lane then I guess you would be ok.
Occasionally people walking along the lane back to this site were noisy, sometimes the language a little colourful. There was a bus from that site into Brixham but didn't use it.
Not a particularly nice 20 min downhill walk into Brixham, through residential area. Site very well placed for access to the South West Coast Path. No children's' play area. Will definitely be back!

Stayed here same time for the past 4-5 years, facilities very clean, owners and managers very helpful.
We are a family with 2 young children and we have never heard any noise from the site over the road
Easy access to brixham and surrounding areas, quiet site, no play area etc
We will be back next year (as long as the nightly charges don't rise any more !)
Laundrette facilities good
Nice stroll to the local beach but lots of steps once there

Have just gotten back from three (gloriously sunny) days camping (non hook-up) at this site with my partner and our 7yr old. We found the toilets and showers to be clean and well equipped, and there are laundry and washing-up facilities available (though we didn't use them so unable to comment). The site owners were really helpful and accommodating, and provided a map of the area and some information on local attractions.
My one gripe is that some of the tent pitches are really really close to the pub/clubhouse of the Holiday Park across the road, and in the evenings it was really really noisy. The pub stays open until at least 12:30ish on the weekends, and it made relaxing really difficult. I appreciate that this isn't the fault of the site owners, but we really would have appreciated being told about the noise before hand so we could have made a better decision as to where to pitch up.
Overall a good base from which to explore the Riviera, but bring ear plugs!

What an absolutely fabulous camp site. Owners were very friendly and made everyone feel welcome. Shower blocks and toilets were clean and modern. Short 10 minute walk to the beach (beware of the steps though!) worth the huffing and puffing. Accepts pets and if you're lucky there is sometimes an off-peak flat rate for a weeks' stay - excellent value.

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely campsite, 2 adults and 2 x 13-year old boys. We were given a friendly welcome at the office and the staff were very informative about the local area, buses, taxis and how to get around generally. The shower blocks are absolutely spotlessly clean and look brand new, with plenty of hot water, hair dryers and full length mirror in ladies (nice touch). There are two blocks of showers which is good because if one block is closed for cleaning, then the other is still open. The walk to Brixham is downhill all the way and only took about 15 mins. We took a taxi back.
The beach at St Mary's bay is about 10 minutes away and there are steep steps down to it. You can use the shop at the holiday park opposite for essentials, but quite expensive. There is a small Tesco in Brixham and a Co-op for provisions. The staff warned us about the seagulls, and there are signs up not to feed them as they will invade your tent if food is left out anywhere. This site is for couples and families only which tends to make for a quieter site. We liked it here very much and would certainly return.
