Site is just off the main road as you come through the village. Small site in what was once the owners garden. Hardstanding for 2 or 3 rest is well cut grass. There are ehu's for 4 vehicles only. Toilets / showers old but functional – 2 toilets + 1 shower in gents / ladies. These were clean with new shower unit in ladies but to be fair they really do need a revamp as the buildings look over 30 years old. Ladies showers takes 50p – used 2 for a fairly quick but lovely and hot shower. Gents takes 20p's.
The site is well used with plenty of tents and vans there when we stayed. Owners very friendly and welcoming. There aren't too many sites on Lewis but this one is more than usable. £15 for2 adults with ehu – showers extra.

A pleasant welcome from the owners who can cater for later arrivals if pre booked due to ferry timings.
Toilet facilities are basic, small and compact, and in need of modernising. Only one shower per male / female facility which is somewhat concerning considering the number of people crammed in. The owners website declares no additional costs, but the showers are extra so have plenty of change, 50p for approx 4 minutes.
The site is small and is the owners garden. The ground is level and there is electric hook up available, and the owners direct you to your allocated area. Be confident in your reversing skills as it is tight in places, distance from house to fence was less than the length of our car and caravan. A communal area for indoor eating is available, normally used by those camping. Laundry facilities are on site which the owners hold the key for. We didn't use this so cannot comment upon. There is no children's area but a small area to exercise your dog.
Some fantastic beaches nearby for the kids and further afield you can find some good secluded beaches too.
Some good cultural places to visit all over Lewis and Harris. Be prepared for lots of pulling over at passing places.
If you need fuel or basic food the National Petrol Station (6 miles away, to the north) is sufficient.
If visiting the Islands be aware that the Sabbath is kept to very strictly and very few if any visitor attractions will be open on a Sunday.

This is a small campsite and as other reviews have mentioned it is a bit like camping in the back garden. There are some hardstanding pitches and grass pitches with electric hook up available. The owners were helpful and we were able to choose where to pitch.
The site doesn’t have much protection from the wind which as we found at times can be very strong, just looking at the grass as you drive around Lewis and seeing the angles it is at will confirm this!
There are some lovely beaches, the one in the village (about 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive) is very nice, visit at low tide though. Uig sands is lovely, a massive beach which the dogs loved and we had (almost) to ourselves.
The toilet and shower block was quite small but was clean. The shower is 50p in the ladies for about 5 minutes and 40p in the gents for a similar time.

Turned up at this site and were warmly welcomed despite not booking.
A small site, felt a bit like you were camping in the owners back garden. There was a great communal area for cooking, eating and washing up which was very useful.
The pitches were ample, some with EHU.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the site had a relaxed feel.
The toilets were tiny and the showers looked like they could do with updating but the facilities were clean.
Next door is a school with a lovely pool open to the public some evenings, good for the kids and nice for a shower!
Didn't really explore the area too much as the weather was so awful but all in all a great little site.

Very small well kept site. More like pitching in a back garden. Toilets were clean but a bit of a 'Heath Robinson' affair. The cubicles were very small, too small for most peoples liking. The one and only shower was ok but it cost 40p for 5 minutes.
However the nightly rate was very reasonable indeed so I'll forgive the shower charge. You'll either love or hate the Isle of Lewis. Not for us I'm afraid. Too many derelict houses and dumped rusting cars, coaches etc scarring the landscape. Some very good beaches and the Inn Between just up the road (1mile) was good for a beer and food.
The Macaulay family are very friendly and will collect your daily newspapers for you.

One of the few sites on the west coast of Lewis. Very busy when we were there. Book to be sure. Owners were pleasant and sociable. Not really any local shops in spite of the size of the community which was a bit of a pain but not the site's fault. Facilities were clean and perfectly adequate with a room for washed out campers next to the kitchen. Plenty of safe areas for kids to play. Site was level and there was plenty of hook ups. Price was reasonable.

Nice flat areas but very small site for number of units they squeeze in, avoid in peak summer but a very tidy site & clean.
Very quite at night & nice surroundings.
There are loads of free camping spots on the Ohebs.
Some nice walks & cycling from site.
But found that there laundry facility was a rip off - £18 for 2 loads!

This is a lovely small site in a beautiful location. The owners are so helpful and nice people. There is a pub / restaurant about 3kms away which serves good food and the staff are also so friendly, The pub has free wi-fi. There is a shop about 4kms away, (Butt view stores).
Some secluded beaches in the area, well worth a visit, also the standing stones at Callanish are about 15kms away.
There is a bus service which passes the camp-site entrance, you can go to Stornoway, Callanish etc on this bus.
Well worth a visit to this site !

It has to be said that when we first saw the site we were disappointed but how wrong can you be. This family run site is one of the most helpful and friendly we have been on. The shower and toilet block are small but very clean and well maintained. The communal area and kitchen facilities are very welcome and unique facility and is a great place for meeting fellow campers. After our stay we were sorry to leave. The surrounding country side is spectacular and so many interesting places are with in easy reach.

I visit this site every year and always look forward with great anticipation to my next visit.
It's a small run family site, absolutely spotless and well maintained. The family cannot do enough to help from the moment you arrive.
The family have the ability to make you feel very welcome.
The site is small and provides good shower facilities and has a great wee dining/ food preparation area where any of the guests can prepare and enjoy their own food, great on the wet days. This is also a great wee area to arrange wee gatherings with fellow campers and enjoy a few wee halves or just a wee chin wag. I have done so many times.
There is many many beautiful beaches within easy reach, In fact if the temperature was just a few degrees higher it would easily compare with the Caribbean and like places.
You must visit Bhaltos, beautiful beaches and others nearby great for surfing (keep that a secret) The site owner will happily give you directions to this and other places of interest.
There is also a couple of licensed restaurants and hotels within easy reach and the main town is about 18 miles away.
Please take the opportunity to visit this Island and stay at this site to experience real hospitality. I know that Caledonian MacBrayne, the ferry company, offer excellent rates this year, so book early to avoid disappointment
