Really nice site. Flat tent pitches.
Owner was very helpful and gave me a map and showed me some places to tour around on my motorbike.
Nice kitchen/ dining area to use with kettle and microwave, and a good place to sit when it was raining.
Lovely walks around the bay if you fancy an evening stroll.
I'll definitely return if my travels take me back to the hebrides.

Our second visit to this pleasant site with friendly owners. It's well located for travelling to the nearby sights of west and north Lewis.
At Ness, in the far north of the island, there's a petrol station/general store, and an excellent community café/museum.
The site was quite crowded with both tents and motorhomes/ campervans when we came in May. A downside would be that the pitches are rather small so everybody is relatively closely packed.
The facilities are in two separate blocks so if the (2)showers in one are full, and you don't want to queue, you need to trek to the other block where there may or may not be a queue.
In one of the blocks there are just 3 combined loo/shower rooms, so if people are having showers you can't 'go' if you need to.
Both blocks are rather tired and it might be a good idea for the long term, given the apparently decent amount of visitors, if investment was put in to replace them with one more up to date and comfortable.
The site has very good wifi.

This is a great campsite - nice views, clean and good facilities and helpful owners.
The tent pitches were level, the kitchen facilities very handy when it was wet or midgy.
The swimming pool next door at the school was excellent too.
It's over a mile to the nearest beach, but we had a nice circular walk there.

Campsite was lovely -wonderful views and easy to find.
The owners were the most friendly and helpful ever - didn't make any fuss when I let the cassette slider fall into the chemical toilet emptying inlet [oh the shame !] but spent an hour uncomplainingly recovering it for us [
Sand unblocking the pipe as well but it was really kind of them not to have me shot ]
The showers were spotless as were the loos-
Highly recommend it as great value for the price as well compared to some others stops on the isles.

We had a great stay at Eilean Fraoich. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Despite the facilities being closed due to Covid and quite poor weather, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return the next time we're on Lewis.
Highly recommended.

Efficient telephone booking with Mary. Deposit paid and received receipt by email. Balance paid on arrival. Friendly welcome.
Hardstanding pitch with electric. Not huge but perfectly fine. Pleasant enough views of fields and low hills in the distance. Good site for people watching too!
Nearest shop is about 5 miles north at a petrol station. Otherwise it's the supermarkets in Stornoway. If your travelling from the south and need supplies, Lochs Services in Leurbost may be your best bet.
"Downing Street" has a ladies and a gents. The gents has one shower, two wc's, tow urinals and sinks. There are also 3 (maybe 4) privacy rooms in another block with toilet, sink and shower.
Perfectly acceptable for the size of the sight. Facilities were cleaned almost non-stop in rotation throughout the day. Laundry with washer and drier (it's Lewis so it's best not to hang your washing out on a Sunday).
Nice site. We liked it and would return. Good location for touring Lewis and for access to Stornoway.

What this isn't is a beach side site with stunning views. What it is, is everything else that you would want from a site:
Clean and functional facilities, fast free wi-fi, tidy level pitches, welcoming staff and respectful customers.
If you want the beach and stunning views, there's 3 or 4 within 5 minutes drive.

Good location all pitches are level with water points close by. EHU available but we stood free. Very clean facilities. Washing machine & dryer available. Owners very helpful, two Sea Eagles seen roosting from site.
Some nice walks & cycle rides from site. As with most sites on Island, you are a distance from any shops, so stock up on journey.

Location - Close to all popular attractions - standing stones blackhouses, broch, natural features on coastal path nearby (arches and blow hole - latter not on map or info books - just south of Shawbost bay). Swimming pool next door in school - open 3 evenings a week. Quality restaurant / take away nearby - 40 North (we did not try this though).
Good views inland of hills.
Facilities dated, good and clean. Showers electric good power (either 50p 4 mins or 8 min £1).
Priced at £19 per night good value include EHU

We stayed at Eilean Fraoich for 4 nights and used it as a base for touring Lewis. We had booked in advance and the site was pretty full for the duration of our stay.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, Storm Hector hit while we were there which was an 'interesting' experience and did rather curtail any exploring on foot.
As others have said, the facilities are kept spotlessly clean and, although they aren't new, can't be faulted. The washing machine and tumble dryer worked well. There is a drive over drain for motorhome grey water dumping.
There is a good shop attached to the garage a few miles away at Barvas.
Would we stay again? Yes, certainly.
