Having just got back from this site, we as a family (4 adults and 1 child) had a very peaceful break. Nothing much to do on site, but chill and enjoy, which is as we wished.

Site was very well kept and every facility was clean and looked accommodating, although as we were in a site-static, we didn't need to use them. We did have to do a little cleaning (cups cooker and glasses etc) when we arrived but that is probably due to two of us being OCD about cleanliness

The access road has now obviously been repaired as although slightly bumpy in places, there was no pot holes that other reviewers speak of.

Chris, the owner, and Ray-the-ranger, as we called him and his wife Shelia were so accommodating and always had time for a chat and offered assistance if / when we required it. We were even given bbq coal, that was left from other campers, which we were very grateful for and left for the next visitor, once we'd had our bbq evenings.

Sand Bay Beach is 2 minutes walk from the site, and is a beaut, even in winter. We were however, blessed with perfect weather, although the site is very windy at times, but being so close to the sea we didn't mind.

Weston-super-mare, is now open and all restoration to the area complete, along with the new Grand Pier which was bustling and has a great atmosphere.

We don't live too far from Weston and wanted a quiet location for various family members to meet up and chill, and chill we did. Children were very welcome and our little one made friends around the camp, and can be seen from all areas so no need to worry where they were.

We didn't eat out much but the chippy opposite the Grand Pier entrance is superb, as is the little cafe next door but one to the chippy. The cafe offers hot/cold drinks and snacks, along with afternoon tea and home baked cake, which we enjoyed. The owner of the cafe was very chatty and always took the time to come round and ask us how our stay was going.

All in all the weekend was superb and felt like home from home.

Will definitely be going again, but probably camp next time, for no other reason other than that is what we are used to.

10/10 for the site and 5*

We have visited this site over the last four years for all our holidays, and every holiday has been enjoyable on this site. We used to go to a large site in Brean, but that got too noisy. We like the peace and quiet that this site offers because of its small size which gives it a friendly feel.

The toilets are clean and well equipped, there is also a washing machine available to use for a small fee. People have mentioned a helpful chap on site, that person is Ray and his wife Sheila. Ray and Sheila are the two very kind people that are helping Christine to run the site.

As mentioned in visitors previous reviews, the access road is rough but Christine has improved it greatly this year with the help of Ray, but being a shared drive with the local residents she has done all she can, but the roughness helps to slow the traffic down giving the residents of the shared drive the consideration they deserve.

We have been good friends and customers of Sand farm and christine and hope to spend many more happy holidays there.

Even though the entrance Lane was very potholed along with the Lane to the farm itself. We eventually got to the site.

We were met on site by a very pleasant gentleman by the name of Ray. He directed us to our pitch very expertly and politely.

He also assisted in the siting of the caravan.

He also informed us that he was available at all times

Site is very level with well maintained grounds.

Electric hook ups are also available.

Toilets and Showers excellent. Plenty of Free Hot Water.

Facilities for the disabled excellent

Kept very clean

Very friendly and welcoming.

The owner ( Christine ) introduced herself and was also very helpful and informative.

Facilities for Touring caravans, Motor Homes and Tents.

Very short distance from Weston Super mare by Coastal Road ( Approx 10 minutes by car).

Also on local bus route.

Plenty of places to eat out at very reasonable rates.

Will certainly visit again.

Stayed here last week in my tent for 3 people for 4 nights. Cost was 64 pounds in total. But as we were a same sex group (it was myself and my 2 younger cousins) we were told that we would have to pay a 50 pound behaviour bond before the start of the holiday. Which thankfully we recieved back at the end.

The man who greeted us at the site was very friendly and helpful, but I too found that the site was not very well sign posted as if it wasn't for the satnav, we too would have driven past it. The road to the site needs major work in the near future, as my poor little punto struggled with the potholes and after the huge rainstorm we had, some of the holes were a little deeper than expected.

Toilets were well maintained, however make sure you take loo roll as a middle-of-the-night loo trip is made more interesting if you don't have any, but other than this, it was very good stay and we will definitely call back again.

We have just spent a weekend here, unfortunately the weather wasn't up to much whilst we were there but we still had a great time as we were there on an all girls 30th birthday celebration. The site was clean and tidy and very quiet until us and a few more groups arrived.

The toilets were very clean but lacking anything to dry your hands on after washing them.

Arrival was slightly disappointing as the site wasn't clearly sign posted and the driveway to the site is in a terrible state, certainly wouldn't want to be taking a new car down there!

Not an awful lot around the area, chip shop and Chinese but its not very far away from Weston!

We did have a few issues with being singled out by the manager due to noise as we always got the blame and nobody else did even though on a few occasions it wasn't us.

A few of the rules on site are a little extreme, we wouldn't have wanted to use the disabled toilet, might have been death penalty!

There is an electric fence in the tent field to keep the cows at bay but no signs on the fence and no lighting at night which meant a few of us had a few nasty shocks when trying to go to the toilet. The grass was also fairly long in areas which became difficult again when trekking to the toilet at night.

Would recommend some loosening up and major repairs to road and some lighting before id reccomend. Thanks anyway.

Have stayed for short break with children. A gem of a site - level lush grass, open fields and yes, it is approx 5 mins to beach.

Few pointers to note folks:

Take your plastic pegs - or you'll be charged to buy some.

The wind is ferocious some days/nights - even if you think you have a sheltered pitch.

Make sure you agree in advance exactly what you are booking - size of tent / awnings / gazebos / dogs / guests, as they will be quick to challenge your booking and you may be charged extra - saves embarrassing situation.

Pity the road leading to the site is full of potholes and I mean 6-8 inches for some!(not sure whether it is the responsibility of the site or an unadopted road to all premises along it)

Clean / tidy washrooms. No driers or plug points though.

Small area where there are rope swings for kids.

May not stay there again as the site allows large parties / single sex parties to camp 'unchallenged'.It was only the rain that made noise levels dissipate early.

PS Fabulous carvery at the Commodore Hotel - 2 mains for £9.50 (but watch the bar prices as it is a hotel - £5.10 for three diet pepsis!)

Did not try local fish and chip/chinese shop as had mixed reviews from other campers.

Weston is having a lot of money spent on it - new promenades, beautiful gardens and hanging baskets, great free play areas, new pier (still not open through). Parked in street at top of Grove park, as free - sick of paying parking charges on seafront! £2 for donkey rides, £2.50/£1.50 for crazy golf. Good value.

I've just spent a very enjoyable 3 nights on this site in my campervan. I was slightly concerned upon arrival as the access road is in a very poor state of repair and the entrance to the site isn't very welcoming as there is what appears to be an abandoned motorhome and a couple of old statics.

However, the site itself is very nice. The grass was well cut and there was no litter. The gentleman who runs the site is extremely friendly and helpful and took the trouble to let us know bus times and where the shops are etc.

It's not a very big site so I was able to let my little boy play outside the campervan and I could keep an eye on him. There are 3 female toilets which were all really clean. There is only one female shower, however there is a unisex shower on the side of the block.

There is no shop nearby, the nearest one is a good 15/20 minutes walk away as is the nearest pub but the bus service is excellent and it takes about 20 minutes to get from Sand Bay into Weston. My little boy loved it as it was a double decker. I wouldn't say the site is particularly cheap (£16 per night for one adult and one child in a campervan) as there are not that many facilities but the location is excellent and we will definitely stay there again.

We made a very last minute booking and the site was very quiet throughout our stay, despite being the height of the school holiday season.

This is our kind of site: very quiet, no entertainment, pubs or even kiddie's playgrounds in sight. There was no traffic noise either, apart from the aircraft: I think it must be under the flightpath for Bristol.

The toilet block was nice and clean, with one shower in each of the separate male/female toilets plus two others in the washroom and a separate disabled shower unit. Only one sink for washing up, but most people seemed to be washing up in their caravans so it didn't seem to pose a problem.

We didn't find the shop in walking distance which others have referred to, but there is a convenience store about 3 miles away and Western itself is only about 4-5 miles up the road, and there is a teashop just round the corner.

The entrance road has no signs whatsoever: if we hadn't been using the Satnav we'd have driven past it. It hasn't been resurfaced and I would not want to negotiate it on foot at night.

We had a lovely stay, visiting: Glastonbury; the Clarke's Village at Street; Cheddar Gorge; Wells; the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton; the West Somerset Railway from Bishop's Lidyeard near Taunton to Minehead and Tyntesfield, a stately home near Clevedon. All of these were an hour's drive or less away.

We recommend the Old Thatched Cottage on the front in Western for an evening meal. Service was good and the food was delicious.

Just camped here last weekend, brill site, very quiet. Toilets were the best I have ever seen on any campsite, spotless and very pretty room. The chap who looks after you was a friendly and helpful man, his wife a lovely woman gave me some pain killers as I had a stinking head ache with no charge, as it was too late to get some from the shops.

There is a fish/chip shop/Chinese just down the road which was very reasonable and very nice. Its a dogs paradise as the beach is only 2 mins walk and again its a clean beach. The owner is a nice down to earth woman and very friendly and she has a good sense of humour. We will go back again hopefully in September

There were several problems we encountered with this site and would ask visitors to consider carefully before they commit to staying here.

1. The approach road was extremely rutted and had huge craters in it which was nearly impossible to tow the caravan over safely. At the end of the approach road it is very confusing as there is no obvious way into the site. However, once on the site the ground was level and reasonably well drained.

2. We were met and dealt with by a relative of the owner and who was over-friendly to the point of being intrusive to us.

3. We were asked to pay cash upon arrival for the pitch which we were not told of in advance. Very embarrassing!

4. There were no private cubicles for washing in the toilet block, and there was only one female shower working when we were there.

5. I personally took offence at the owner's sign on the disabled toilet along the lines of 'do not use this facility, if you do you will be thrown off the site YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD'. Very offensive.

6. The site review on this website claims there are shops within 1 mile. This is not true and very misleading. We were lucky to have transport but if you don't then you will have a 20 minute bus journey to town for supplies.

7. On a positive note, the site itself is level and has a large area in the centre for children to play and fly kites etc and there is a sense of peace about the place most of the time.

The site is a haven if you want peace and quiet and is only a 5 minute stroll from the beach, which I enjoyed and would go back for if the first 5 points above were different. The surrounding area is wonderful and there is lots to do and see all within an hour's drive of the site and I would definitely visit the area again but not this site.
