Our first ever camping holiday with the 3 kids, 15, 7 & 6 and we chose Sand farm.
A nice pleasant site, even ground, not too many mole hills, although the chap who worked the site seemed to take care of these pretty quick when we arrived. With a 6 berth tent I thought £30.00 per night was ok at first then realised it seemed a little pricey after looking up our next get away when we came home. The toilet block was clean and had hot water with a shower.
The sight approach is very rough with potholes and caverns, but as stated by other users if you take your time its ok.
Not a lot to do in Sand Bay itself, but is a good spot if you want to get away from it all, Weston is 10 mins down the road with lots of updating works going on there at the moment. The pier wasn't open on our arrival, but is scheduled to open in the Summer, and once this is open and the work completed it will be a good place to visit.
Our pitch in the second fenced off area was ok even though a little on the windy side. We seemed to catch all the wind off the sea front, My advice is get an electric hook up as you can pitch closer to the hedge, there seemed to be less wind here. We enjoyed ourselves here even though we only stayed for 2 nights. It was a great start to our hopefully long camping life. Would we go back? maybe some time in the future, as we have many sites to visit in both the UK and Europe.
Oh the cows in the opposite field don't bother you.

We arrived on Saturday evening with our new tent in the back of the car. It was our first time camping and the first time attempting to erect a tent!
The gentleman who welcomed us was very chatty and polite. He told us all of the local jaunts and basic directions.
The camp site was very good. It was level and clean and luckily not really really busy.
The toilet block was clean and well equipped with plenty of loo roll and nice hot showers.
We were very pleased and we will definitely be back with the family.
My only criticism would be the road leading to the gate - very bumpy and in bad condition - but drive slowly and you will be fine!

Arrived late on the first night, very helpful even offered to help put up tent. Lovely small site, one field for tourers / motor homes another for tents.
Small, friendly, clean toilets / showers. First ever time camping and a great first experience so would definitely re-visit this site again. Even a tree with ropes and tyres attached which was great as all the kids congregated their.
No late night noise to keep you awake but lovely countryside views, felt like you were really away from it all even though a 2 minute walk to the seafront.
Sandybay is a quiet area but 10 mins drive from Weston so ideal location. Stayed for 3 nights and will go back for sure!

I stayed at Sand Farm for two nights with my boyfriend over the bank holiday and loved it! Nice size site with good, clean toilet block. There is even a washing machine!
The road getting into the site is not good at all with loads of big pot holes but the site itself is nice and level. The man looking after us on the site was one of the nicest people I've met. It was torrential rain when we got there but still he was out offering help with a smile on his face.
The site is in a great location; easy to get to Weston Super Mare, Brean, Cheddar, Wells and Bristol amongst others. Would definitely recommend this site.

A well-run site, not too crowded, friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here so much, we took up camping regularly.
Notwithstanding that there was a group of lively rugby players on a stag weekend when we visited, the landlady kept firm control: warning them 'three strikes and you're out' if their ball was kicked over into the camping area. They were surprisingly well behaved on returning to campsite on the Saturday night, and we were impressed at how well the site coped with the demands.
The swallows nesting nearby, driftwood fires at night, and some lovely neighbours who helped us on our first camping foray as a family made this a memorable site, which we're keen to see again (and the bumpy road is now improved, I learn).
Take binoculars for great views, especially wading birds early morning on this unspoilt side of Weston.

A very nice little site. Nice flat field with good short grass to pitch on. As mentioned, if you are putting up an awning, then plastic pegs needed - the very helpful campsite lady sells them for 15p each - which is a bargain anyway!
Handy for walks along the beach (2 mins from the beach) and there is a small shop in the village that sells most odds and ends you might need - otherwise it's a few minutes in the car to Weston Super Mare.
The road to the site from the 'main' road is in a poor state of repair with large potholes, so care is needed - although while we were there they did put down some aggregate to make it a lot better.
It's a nice site, and was not busy over the bank holiday weekend - which seemed odd as it's a great location. I'd recommend this site if you want a quiet time near Weston.

Just arrived back after a very lovely relaxing holiday here with 3 children, ages; 15 - 3 years.
Landlady extremely helpful as all members running site were.If you require anything, you simply need to ask. Nothing was too much trouble. The site was kept clean and grass cut regularly. It lends itself to families, people requiring a more sedate approach and younger folk just simply enjoying one another's company. There are geese, ducks and horses in close proximity as is the beach. This is not a safe beach, it has shifting sands and sinking mud. The children had good times building sand castles, collecting driftwood, watching out for different types of birds, flying their kites, playing various games on the site.Swing ropes available on site. Plastic pegs are required due to a safety issue. Metal ones that are missed sheer off into various directions when cutting the grass. Fees were structured correctly. Book Hook Up in advance. Tea rooms, fish & chip bar (V helpful man),pubs, playground, general stores and bus stop within easy walking distance. We have every intention of returning soon, the children were sad to leave and can't wait to visit again.

Stayed here for a weekend in October for Weston bike race, nice site, friendly owner, only 10min away by car from Weston Super Mare. Small shop just down the road. 2 min walk to beach. Pricey site :£60.00 for 2 nights 5 people in 1 tent. Only allowed plastic pegs, had to buy 10 for £1.50. No hot water in shower block first day and no toilet roll in block for whole weekend. Grass had been cut and not picked up which was very messy. Apart from this we did have a nice weekend.

Spent one night here en route to Wales. Expensive compared to other places when taking into consideration the facilities. £14 quoted on phone per night small 2 man tent with car. Owner friendly yet tried to charge £16 when paying (not including plastic pegs)! no hot water in mens toilets seemed to be too few facilities for ladies even though it was quiet - still queues!

Just got back from a night spent at Sand Farm. We were disappointed with the site, and wouldn't go back there.
It's in a quiet location, about 3 miles out from Weston-super-Mare, and close to the local beach.
The owner was nice enough and welcoming. We didn't ask how much it was before we arrived, and were a bit surprised - £17.50 for 2 people for one night in a smallish tent. You'll also need to add on the cost of the plastic tent pegs you need to buy (metal pegs not allowed), which are sold at £1.50 for 10. At £19 for one night, I think it's the most expensive site we've stayed at.
The tent field is level and mown. It was quiet when we arrived - two other families, so plenty of room.
The facilities were very basic, and not brilliantly kept. There was no toilet paper in any toilet in the evening - meaning a hasty trip to the pub (I'd recommend The Captain's Cabin on Birnbeck Road if you're driving - you just follow the road along the coast and can park on the road above it). One roll of toilet paper had been put in each toilet the following morning though.
We couldn't work out how to make the lights or the hand driers work in either the men's or women's toilets - the former makes for an interesting midnight loo trip if only one person has a torch!
We also suffered from a large party arriving in three motorhomes who were noisy and drunk until very late at night, and again when they were getting ready to leave at 6.30 the following morning - so not a great night's sleep. (Although the owner can't be blamed for people's behaviour, it would be nice if some of the many rules you're handed on a piece of paper when you arrive were enforced.)
I think places to pitch in the area are quite limited if you're in a tent, and if you really want to camp locally it's convenient enough. So if you don't mind paying over the odds for an adequate campsite and can remember to pack your toilet roll, your spare torches and your ear plugs, I suppose there are worse places to stay.
