July 2004 Glorious loaction and scenery but facilities struggled to keep pace with the amount of campers.
Quite pricey when you consider that there were no working toilet seat in the Gents at one stage!
A victim of its own success? Would only visit again at non peak times. Many midges too!

August 2004 Lovely place in beautiful surroundings. No caravans which makes it nicer for us in tents. This is the place to go if you really want to get away. Camping is in 4 beautiful little fields in a little valley. The river runs through all the fields. In the 4th field you can have camp fires and the most peace and quiet. Toilet facilities basic, but ok - although can be quite a walk depending on where you pitch. The little shop sells the best sausages I have ever had. The farm has several nice walks which are fairly easy to follow. We're looking forward to camping there again.

August & September 2003 Had a wonderful week in August 03,l ots of quite with lovely views right on the doorstep (or tent step) walks straight from the tent and although the site was busy the walks were very quiet, I think the people with little ones preferred to stay on site next to the stream.
We went back late September 03 for a long weekend had a great time, there was a rally on in one of the fields for children, what a great atmosphere there was, it was lovely to see so many of them having fun and fair play to the organisers who warned us not to camp too close because it might be noisy, we had a wonderful time and no noise.
The facilities were basic but kept very clean, there is a small shop but by the end of September there's not much there, the village has plenty of small shops to keep you well fed with food and the all important wine.!!

August 2003 Ditto ditto. Peace and tranquillity, camping at its best. Mobile blackspot, no radio reception!!! The weather was good to us making it even better but you don't even have to leave the sight. With the stream for the children to play safely and marked works within the farmland. We shall be back.

June 2003 This is by far the best camp site i've visited so far...its absolutely beautiful. No bar, chessy club house, swimming pool, takeaway etc.....just beautiful scenery, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. The facilies that were there i.e the toilets and showers, shop and water points were all simple but perfectly adequate. It was a pleasure watching the children playing in the stream and running round the grass entertaining themselves without the need for a manmade adventure playground, swimming pool or video arcade! This 'back to basics' camping might not appeal to some people but if you like the kind of site where you are left to pitch where you want and get on with enjoying the beautiful setting, without a four page list of rules, then this is the place for you!!

May 03 Beautiful.
I agree with all that goes before re:facilities. The location is idyllic.
We made a fridge for our bottles in the river and enjoyed a real camp fire last night in the serene surroundings.

My favourite campsite no bars, clubs or other stuff to detract from a beautiful place. shower block and other facilities were simple but spotlessly clean with lashings of hot water. Not easy access for caravans leaving us with tents to enjoy! Kids loved playing in the stream and great marked walks.

One of the most beautiful sites we've visited. Spectacular walks direct from your pitch, views of deer grazing on the opposite hillside, wonderfully peaceful and perfectly adequate facilities.
