July 2005 We have visited Cold Springs Farm nearly every weekend throughout June and July this year and in previous years. We think the site is great, it is in a lovely setting and the owners (of which there appears to be several, due to a number of cottages occupying the site!) are all extremely friendly and always have time for a chat!
The campsite attracts a real mixture of people from families to couples and small groups of singles - all of whom are friendly, fun and considerate. Yet despite this the campsite never appears to be overly busy which is fantastic as we have a large German Shepherd who needs lots of space, which he gets, even though he is kept on a rope (a good rule of the site, we think, as Meko doesn't like other dogs but the site has dogs (friendly!) and chickens (also friendly!))
As for the facilities, as the previous member mentioned, there are two toilets and one shower for the girlies and one toilet, urinals and shower for the blokes. They do have toilet paper but if the site is fairly busy this can run out - so take some with you just in case! They are basic but are kept really clean and are fine for what you need and at £7 a night for us two and Meeks we think it is fab!
Regarding the sites location, it's about a mile down a fairly steep hill to Buxton centre..so it's great walking there but coming back up is somewhat challenging (especially if you have a pint or two while you are there!), so take the car (or taxi) if you're not feeling too energetic! If you want to explore the countryside though it is a great base!
Well, we're actually off there now, so we hope we've given you a good insight into this lovely site. Oh a word of caution..when the weather is humid stock up on the citronella and insect repellent because the midgies are ravenous!

August 2004 This campsite is conveniently situated within walking distance of Buxton town centre. The ground slopes, gently in some places and more steeply in others. When we visited it was very muddy and access to pitches by car tricky.
The facilities are very basic; only one shower and two toilets for the ladies, and similar for the gents. None of the doors have locks and no toilet paper is provided. In our opinion the facilities were inadequate for the number of guests on the site.
At £4 per person per night we did not think that this site offered good value for money.
