Well, all I can do is echo what everyone else seems to say about this site. We booked through Redfunnel, a five night deal with crossing for £145. What a bargain!
The Orchards is a beautiful place. The campsite is surrounded by rolling countryside. The staff in both Reception and the on-site shop are very friendly and helpful. The site itself is five star. It is posh camping.
The shower/toilet block is amazing. In the five days I spent there, everything looked shiny and new, basins, loos and showers. They must have been cleaned four times a day. The shower / toilet block consists of basins in cubicles, showers and basins in cubicles (with lots of hanging space and a corner seat), a vanity area with plug sockets and obviously the loos. The showers were great, hot, plenty of them and there was also underfloor heating.
Also in this block are washing up facilities. I think I counted 14 sinks for washing up. This was also immaculately clean. There were 3 washing machines and 3 tumble dryers. Also there were ironing boards and irons (which could be used free of charge). There was also a unisex bathroom, which again was immaculate and a great idea for families with small children.
We used the on-site shop a couple of times and found it very handy. It was well stocked with bread, milk, meal ideas, medicines and other handy things.
My husband and son enjoyed the indoor pool. That would be the only downside to this site, was paying for the pool facilities and only being allowed to stay in the pool for an hour at a time. The site had a play area for the children. It was a little on the small side, however, there was a recreation field at the bottom of the camp which was large and the children did tend to play football down there.
The site also had a dog exercise area which I thought was quite good. Our pitch, with electric hook up, was more than sufficient. The actual location of the campsite was great. It didn't seem to take long to get anywhere in the car. Great location.
All in all, the camp seemed to have a great atmosphere, lots of happy campers and I would definitely return to this site.

Have just spent five nights on this site. It is a great site. The view is amazing, the toilet and shower block are like nothing I have ever seen on a campsite. The pitches were a good size and there were lovely apple trees and blackberry bushes all around. The site is in a really good location, although the Isle is not massive this site is close to lots of good locations. The shop is well stocked and we did use the chip shop one evening. Would go back again it was a great place.

Visited this site after booking the Red Funnel deal of 5 nights camping with return ferry crossing for £107.Very friendly staff. The new washrooms / pot washing block is the best I have come across so far.Never have to wait to use anything and very clean.Like the idea of having a shower and a sink within each cubicle. The on site shop has all the essentials and those items that you might of forgotten.Used the takeaway once and can't complain - maybe slightly expensive though (£8 for 2 pukka pies with chips) The pools look ok but didn't get a chance to test them out.Didn't fancy the outdoor pool in September! The indoor pool looks a bit small and you can't really swim like you would in a ordinary pool. The pitch we had was large enough for a tent with extension and a car.Flat and good drainage.Ground is a bit stoney so make sure you take plenty of pegs! The site has a TV room,Pool room,Arcade room and Childrens' play area,so plenty to keep the kids entertained.Highly recommend the Blacksmith's Arms pub on the road into Newport. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Some great views over the Solent as well! The only downside was the hurricane conditions we had to withstand for 2 days and nights. Unfortunately our main tent was damaged on the 2nd night so we had to go into Newport to buy one in the sales.Maybe some more hedges would help with a bit more protection from the elements?Overall a very good site and a very good holiday!

We visited this beautiful site in August last year. It was a very spacious and well laid out site.
We were really impressed with the site - there is a superb new toilet block, and even with the site fully booked there was never a queue for anything.
The pitches are a very generous size and were more than enough for our large Trailer Tent and still had room for our two kids to play safely.
The site has two pools one indoor and one outdoor. We used them both as we had pre booked tickets for the indoor one just in case the weather was poor, which on 3 days it was.
There are a limited number allowed indoors at any one time so pre booking was an advantage.
The site is large however the play area for the children was a little small. There is a large field at the bottom of the site where you can play games.
Showers, toilets and washing facilities were first class.
There is a small takeaway on site which is a little expensive but we still used it twice.
The site is well located on the island and everything is within about 40 mins in any direction.
Would recommend but I would advise booking early as it's very popular.

Just returned from a fantastic 5 night stay at this wonderful site. Everything from the initial check in to point of departure ran smoothly, with the staff always happy to help or offer advice when required.
We booked fairly late given this is peak season (only 6 weeks before) and arrived with some trepidation over which pitch we had been allocated. We didn't need to worry however as all pitches are well sited, generally on level ground and in close proximity to all the amenities/facilities and site shop. We were more than happy with our position which afforded us a degree of privacy with ample space for our tent, windscreen, car etc. Despite the inclement weather we were more than satisfied with the outdoor [heated] pool, although less hardy souls can always opt for the indoor [chargeable] option.
The new shower/facilities block is superb, despite the park being relatively full we never had to wait to use the showers and the amenities block is excellent with a number of washing up sinks, campers kitchen, ironing facilities, washing machines/dryers etc. The view from the washing up area is worth a visit in itself!
Overall a very well run park, reasonably priced, friendly and available staff, excellent location and easy access to the major routes to explore other areas of this lovely island.
We enjoyed ourselves so much we have already put down a deposit for next year, but will be staying for a full week next time.

We have just returned from 2 weeks on the Isle of Wight, having spent 5 nights on this lovely camp site. The views are outstanding, the facilities are fantastic (don't know many camp sites where there's underfloor heating!). The only thing I would say is the bins were right at the top so if you were down the bottom and it was raining you would have a bit of a trek. Perhaps a few bins down the bottom would be an advantage? All in all a nice quite site.

What a superb site!
Set in lovely rural countryside, we enjoyed a 3 night stay at this very clean and friendly site. The shower block in particular was of the highest quality.
The outdoor pool was very well maintained and seemed to be very popular. There is a small on-site shop and takeaway with 2 or 3 pubs nearby as well.
We would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely site.

After a week in the lake district we were of to the island on a great deal from red funnel. Return ferry from Southampton and 5 nights at the Orchards all for just £108.
This has to be the best campsite I have ever stayed in.The staff are helpful and always happy. There is a shop, takeaway, pool room, tv room, table tennis room and two heated pools, one indoor, one out. The toilet blocks which are new are superb, with cubicles with sinks, showers with sinks and mirrors, cubicles etc and the other end of the same building, you get that all over again so very very rare to have to wait. Chemical disposal point and a washing up, ironing and washing room with absolutely stunning views across the surrounding countryside. Our pitch had its own electric point and as all the others was flat and even. Dog walking area, playing field, it doesn't get any better than this and I will now be using this site for ever more when staying on the island.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Orchards. We were really impressed with the site - there is a superb new toilet block, and even with the site fully booked there was never a queue for anything. The reception was open from 8am to 10pm so that meant we could change our ice blocks when we wanted to. Yes - even though each pitch had electric hook up, some of us still prefer not to use it! The onsite shop was good for essentials, but the takeaway seemed limited and expensive.
Our children loved the pools. The beautiful weather meant we even swam outside. Use of the outdoor pool is free, but there is a charge for the indoor one.
The site was clean and quiet, but the attractiveness of the pitches varied greatly. Some are located around the edge of a green, but get booked up early.
There is a disappointingly small play area for children up to about 8, and a larger recreation area for older children. Beware though, bikes and scooters are not allowed to be ridden on the site.
The campsite seemed well located on the Isle of Wight, with nothing very far away. We all loved Robin Hill; the kids loved The Needles ( and it was fairly cheap because we'd exchanged some Tesco vouchers for it); Carisbrooke Castle was great; Brooke Beach and Totland Bay and the next cove along were also lovely - but make sure you go here at low tide!
We'd love to return in a couple of years, but there was so much to we'll need to stay for longer.

Lovely site with friendly staff.
The site is clean and well maintained. Lovely indoor people which has a maximum capacity of 30 people so in busy times they limit you to an hour. There is a charge for using the pool.
The outdoor pool is larger and is surrounded by grass for laying out in the sun. A few sunbeds are available but not many. They also do scuba diving lessons but although we saw one taking place I don't know the details of cost etc.
The new toilet block is lovely, very clean only complaint is it was so nice that at busy times other campers took too long in there 20+ mins! so pick your times.
With regards to the chemical toilet there is only one way in and one way out to access it which means you can get blocked in (as I did on one occasion). It would be better to make this a drive thru facility.
Washing up facilities good with views over the rolling hills. Small shop open 8am -8pm and small takeaway food outlet which was ok.
I would go back to this site as I was really impressed by it.
