May 2004 I have to agree with the other reviews on this one. This a beautiful campsite, surrounded by trees. When you walk through the woods the views are stunning. The toilets are nice and clean and the showers were hot. We went at Bank holiday and it was quite full, but you wouldn't have known that, still went to sleep with the wind in the trees and woke up to the sound of the birds. Brilliant, we will be going back again.

April 2004 Having stayed at another site last year near this area (for Alton Towers), and being turned down this time (for the size of our group -- 5 males, 4 females), we started looking for other sites near the area.
A quick phone call, and the polite staff had agreed a booking, and we were set.
The site is beautiful, described perfectly by other's reviews on this site. They mainly cater for caravans, with 3 smallish camping areas. We had one of these areas for our 5 tents to ourselves. The ground was slightly damp (despite no major recent rainfall), and some small stones about 5 inches down, but nothing that could dampen the friendly staff, sheltered site, morning bird song, and sun drenched site that we enjoyed whilst there.
Best of all there were a couple of picnic benches in the camping area, so there was none of the usual wet bottoms, or strained backs.
A delightful site, that's worthy of more visits in the future.

sept 2003 Very good campsite with very tidy shower and toilet facilities. Stayed there for a few nights and didn't want to leave and ended up staying a few more nights. Owners were very polite and friendly. One of the owners (unsure of his name) had a good sense of humour too. My missus and I were washing up dishes while he was cleaning up the abolutions. He asked my girlfriend if anyone was in the ladies, "dunno" she replied, when he entered I gave out a girly scream and he came running out in shock. He saw the funny side and had a good laugh. Would recommend this site to anyone as I can't name any faults to it. Was a very enjoyable week, with plenty of nice walking routes. Will be returning in the foreseable future.

Aug 2003 We have just come back from a one night stay, all i can say is brilliant.
We only live about 1/2 hour away but we felt like we were out in the country miles away.
Lovely site, very clean and the staff were very helpful.
Had some fantastic walks with the dog, she said it was the best !!!!!!!
Going back again in a few weeks with some friends. Only snag no pub but if you want a relaxing time then this is the place to go.
Excellent.

August 2002 What a fab site! I can't recommend this beautiful place enough. Quarry Walk is a totally different experience from the usual site with rows, roads and hedges. It is situated in an old quarry - and is very natural, lots of silverbirches and heathers (and rocks)! The wardens who cared for the site were very friendly and accommodating.
Pitches are spacious with elec hookup. A number of which are occupied throughout the year by regulars. There are also a couple of tenting areas (don't think they had electric.)
The loos/showers are in a log cabin and are spotless. Outside is a covered washing up area. There is a play area for the children, on sand - and bikes are welcome. Around the top of the cliffs there is a lovely walk and another secluded field where we had a picnic. There is no shop, but the office does sell penny chews and ice pops for the kids. There is a traditional local shop (someones front room) half a mile away which sold fantastic pies - yum.
If you are looking for an all-action site, then this is not for you. However, our boys were 6 and 13 and they absolutely loved it. In fact, if you manage to keep the children quiet for a moment and stand still and listen, you will hear......... silence!!
We wanted a site a short drive away to Alton Towers, and after a busy day on the rides, Quarry Walk is such a contrast to come home to.

Febuary 2002 Found the site had a very good atmosphere the pitch that we were on eas a good size, the toilets where clean and everyone very friendly. The lane leading to the site is narrow. We just spent the one night there but it is on our list to return and plan to return.
