March 2005 Our first visit this year was as usual perfect but a bit too cold for taking a dip in the river. The washing up area has now got a roof and a light for the evenings and the site is still the same beautiful and peaceful but minus a few trees after storms in January. We will be returning numerous times this year as we have done for the last couple of years.

September 2004 We have been to this site on many occasions but September 2004 was the first time we camped there. It was an enjoyable weekend full of quimm and smiles. The local pub (The Bridge Inn) offered friendly smiles and good beer (To those with opening mobile phones and dinosour love) The campsite has the beutifull River Irt running through which added to the ourdoor feeling. The site was basic but clean.

August 2004 This site still is in my opinion excellent, the owner has now added clothes washing and drying facilities and disabled toilets / showers, it is rumoured that the washing up area will soon be covered.
Short note on the pub over the wall, still a great pint of Jennings but the food moderate and overpriced in my opinion, a much better alternative the Screes just up the road for steak and kidney pie to die for! (well nearly)

August 2004 Lovely little quiet site with river running down one side - not suitable for children to play in as it was pretty fast-flowing (there is even a sign which says children must be accompanied by a qualified instructor due to strong under currents).
Clean facilities and lots of hot water. Good outside washing-up area and separate laundry room. £1 for showers which last about 10 minutes. There is plenty of space for children to play in front of the tents although no separate play area. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead which people complied with -there is even a dog toilet area at one end of the site.
Lovely country pub other side of the river which was also children friendly. This site is perfect for a few days of peace and tranquility but within easy reach by car of Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and Selafield Visitors Centre. Highly recommended.

Aug 2003 What can I say........Heaven. This site is (in my opinion) brilliant, small but perfectly formed. The owner keeps it immaculate, the hot water is boiling hot, toilets are basic and clean and the river is a big hit with the kids and adults. People we spoke to have been going to this site for the past 25 years and I can see why. We will definately be returning year after year.

june 2003 great little camp site in the traditional sense, basic facilities but clean, has hot water facilities for washing pots etc.. we enjoyed our stay here and will be returning soon, after staying on a few larger family sites it made a pleasant change to find a small quiet site and very friendly owner, also pet friendly. a small river runs the length of the site and it's just over the wall for a traditional lakeland inn that serves a good pint of jennings and good food
