Stayed just two nights but the weather was fantastic so we were in the loch in our blow up dinghy's and the kids had a ball! We found the site very laid back and friendly. We got pitched next to the toilet block so that was a bonus too. Although the electric hook up point was a little far away from our van the owner offered us a longer cable.
Not a peep after 11pm at night.
Perfect retreat.
We didnt get to try out the restaurant but are hoping to return in August for another couple of nights so will give it a try then.

Good little site and in a very beautiful area. As to be expected the ground was quite hilly but we got a nice little spot quite easily. The toilets were cleaned regularly and the showers were good.
The playground is very basic and our kids didn't use it but the walk down to the loch is brilliant and the view by the lochside is just stunning. We didn't go to the restaurant as Killin is only a short drive away and we chose to go through there instead.
All in all a nice little campsite.

Not long back, this was our 4th time at this site. Very well run, toilets clean showers spotless, nice quiet site. Kids loved the walk to the loch and play park oh and the dog. Camping area soft, easy for the pegs to go in. Restraunt good but a little bit pricey all in all a very good site will be back.

Started with a telephone for a pitch for one night, then asked if I could come a night early if I could get ready in time. I was assured that this was no problem.
Arrival great, well signposted to reception and easy booking in. Told to camp anywhere. The site,as to be expected in the area, was not exactly level.
On Friday night loos very clean, but, with increase in numbers of campers on the Saturday evening, they did show the signs of wear, running out of loo roll, although this had been replenished by the Sunday morning and they were clean once more. A mop bucket was in the facilities with a note to 'please mop the floor after your shower'. Unfortunately not too many campers were taking heed of this which was a shame.
The laundry/dishwashing facilities in the block had hot water and space to wash up and were again clean. Thre was also a wash machine and tumble dryer, although this was not required as was only there for a weekend.
Although did not eat in the on site cafe the menu looked good and prices not too bad. My 6 year old sons loved the burn, pool and play area and made lots of friends with the other children on the site.
There was a mix of walkers and families on the site, and it was very friendly.
The Burger Van in nearby Glen Ogle serves the most delish venison and salad burgers (if you can get a space through the motorcyclists who throng the area). Killin (3 miles away) is well served with a selection of shops with cheap toys for the kids to all the essentials you could need.
Midges were out in force in the evening as it was so still. So were smokey bbq's , citronella candles and any other means for getting rid of them!
The walk down to the lochside was great and the smell of the pine forest on a humid June night was beautiful. The steep path could be a bit slipppy/muddy, I would imagine, in the wet, but if used to coutryside walking it should not pose most people a problem.
Would I visit again - yes!

Just stayed one night, spacious site with a good choice of pitches, however as to be expected in the highlands not all flat. Great for kids with small park, chickens, streams to play in etc. Good mix of clientle, familys, walkers, party campers but no noise after 11pm. The 10 min walk down to the loch is well worth it. Toilet facilities where a bit limited with no soap in the toilets and plumbing problems in the gents

Just back , fantastic weather site was not busy, the guy who runs the site, Hamish who's a great help with everything, showed us a good pitch to put the 2 tents. We had the 2 grandkids with us and needed to be near to the small play park. We've been to this site about 6 times and will always return. Great walks, again perfect place away from busy towns. Killin is just along the road, good shops and nice place to visit. There was a bunch of young lads [arount 12-14 year olds ] who were with their parents, but you know what their like in gangs of 6 or more, they kicked the panels out of the toilet / dish washing room door, BUT hamish wasn't long in sorting things out and nothing more happened. Think the kids got a good shouting at from there parents.

Location wise this site is perfect lovely scenery all round, good hardstanding pitches so no mud. Power cuts were a pain but that was due to folk in statics taking too much leccy. That is a major point, whilst us tourers knew what 10 amps was the statics didnt. Showers and toilets were spotless albeit freezing cold. Had hot water in the van so was able to get a wash.
Th site resturant was fantastic, mum had the steak which was to die for and they had a nice veggie option. The desserts were delicious and compared to what you pay in Glasgow for a pub lunch it wasnt too expensive. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful as mum is disabled
Killin is a good few miles away but the co-op is good and the chip van was edible, not a great chipper but alright.
Only thing this site needs is heat in the washroom and some basic lighting in the park as you really need a torch. Staff couldnt be more friendly

Fri - Mon. OMG it was cold. No heating in the toilets or the showers, couldn't use the facilities. Not cleaned the whole time we were there. 4 power cuts one lasted 90 mins and the EHU was about 6amps. So no fire and kettle on at the same time! Nothing to do except walk the dog but the walks thru the woods down to the loch were fantastic. Thank god we were part of a mini meet or we would have gone stir crazy. We were not welcome at the onsite pub/restaurant ( not dog friendly) but need to say Hamish the owner of the site is the loveliest person and will do anything in his power to make you stay a good one
If you want peace and quiet this is a good site. If you want nearby facilities Forget it !

We decided to return back to camping after a 10 year absence. Previously we had camped in a large frame tent but always had a desire to camp in a trailer tent. We got one and had to collect from the seller on the may bank holiday weekend. We decided to go direct to a site for the weekend to test our new unit and ourselves.
I booked Cruachan last minute and no electric hook up was available, hey we always camped with no electricity before.
I could not have picked a better site for our first outing Cruachan Farm is a fantastic site for just getting away from it all. The site was very busy so I thought that we may have problems with showers etc. As there were only two blocks that I saw on site each with male & female facilities with 2 showers each but as busy as it was there was no queuing so no problems.
The weather was wet and windy but the beauty of the place just makes up for it. The whole area is stunning. The site its self is very well run, friendly and welcoming. It’s a working farm so lambs were abundant, we had a visit to our tent by a Duck looking to be fed which my daughter took great delight in doing. As busy as the site was there was no noise after 10 pm just the occasional conversation or laugh.
We found the staff to be very helpful even more so during our second visit to this site. We never used the restaurant which is located at the entrance of the farm/site however it was busy and talking to people who had used it had nothing but praise.
There is ample room for tents of all sizes without EHU, the general tent area is sloping but there are ample flat areas, there is also an area just within the woods used for tents.
We were located where the Caravans and statics are although there was no EHU available as the site was full, what was great was we had a very large sized pitch which was flat and excellent for pegging out.
Lovely walks from site to the loch shore and the scenery all around is just beautiful.
Kilin is a lovely small town/village with loads of choices for eating drinking etc. A good Co-op that is open till late stocking all that you need. Freshly baked bread products go very fast so get in there quickly. Fresh farm eggs are available daily from the farm.
We returned for a second visit in August this time for a 5 night stay and again we had a fantastic time, the most relaxing time you could wish for.
This is an established site which is very well run and is highly recommended for a very relaxing time. I feel very confident recommending this site.
